I am confused, there is no option to open or share to this drive from other apps. Like for instance I want to download a file from the browser or move images or documents out of google drive, I don't see the option of having it moved to this drive as it is invisible for other apps. This needs to be addressed asap. I hope Proton is working on this! thanks

Just migrated from Dropbox and pretty satisfied. Only thing I miss: I was able to open docs and spreadsheets from my cloud location right into an app on the phone to edit and save. I have to download, open, edit, save, upload back to Proton Drive. Minor inconvenience. Everything else has been great.

This app continuously tries to back up a non-existent file. Proton then tries to encrypt this file locally, but as it does not exist it just keeps appending garbage data to a file somewhere in the root directory. This quickly results in the app using over 200 gigabytes of local storage - not cloud storage - on my phone in a matter of hours, decreasing battery life substantially. All storage and power issues go away the moment the app is uninstalled, including 5 hours of battery and all 240GB.

Not quite ready for prime time. The one glaring function missing is a Unified Drive - In other words, when I open the mobile app I should see and access files from my windows machine. When I open the Windows App I should see/access the My Files that are on the Android moble app. And the Local machine's 'Drive' Folder on my hard drive only shows the 'My Files' that are actually files from the Web interface placed there by drag and drop from the Local machine (Makes no sense)

All Proton products are decent, the freebies included. The new photo backup feature, however, is limited in that it only looks for media on the camera. If you want to backup images elsewhere on your phone, such as Gallery or Google Pictures, you have to manually select and upload the files. Lastly, I wish Proton offered a package in between Plus and Unlimited in terms of features and price.

I am a paying customer, and in general, I like your apps, however, in this app I can only access that device only, and I have to login through web interface to see my other computers. Also, 3rd party apps need to be able to automatically backup things such as Webdav. Lastly, I can list a specific specific folders in Windows to back up, but on Android, I can only do one file at a time. Backing up with the above limitations makes the service almost useless, and at the very least, time consuming.

Thanks to the Proton team for your response. I updated the star rating to 5. I know it takes time to develop good tools and I appreciate your efforts. I would also like to see the ability to import files from Google Drive and One Drive. Needs the ability to auto sync files from PC and Mobile. I would like to see some mote functionality like auto uploading photos from my phone.

It might back up photos, but good luck actually looking at them in the app, let alone managing them. It can't open a single photo from an off-device Drive folder until it loads every single other item in the folder too. You can't scroll through the list while it does that, either, and uploads are similarly clunky. 100% unusable for large photo backups with many files. Like most non-VPN proton products, this feels like it got rushed out without any testing to make Proton Unlimited look justified

Proton Drive is working perfectly fine for me, contrary to many other encrypted cloud storage services I have tried. The interface is simple and intuitive and offers different possibilities of storage: either cloud only, either both on local and on cloud with synchronization. Many plans that start at good prices. A must-have for encrypted cloud storage!

nice app so far but two things: 1. please allow syncing to a local folder automatically just like in the desktop app. it's really annoying going the extra route of manually downloading the files. 2. when I add a file with the same filename as another file, please allow to just overwrite. having to remove one file and then rename the other is also really annoying. thanks

Seems like I can't manually back up photos from gallery. I have to auto back up everything which I don't want to do. I can manually upload photos, but they go to "Files", not "Photos" in the app. I also hope there's a way to make Albums to organize photos but I don't know if that's the case. Please fix so I can move away from Google.

The low review comes from 2 main reasons 1- the benefits only exist when dealing with the ultimate package, or drive premium. However if you're a Proton user, the drive is likely not your turning point. 2- There's just something about the mix; layout, design, features, etc that make this one service I'm just not huge for. -- My opinion; - needs redone graphically. - drive storage should be unique from calendar, mail, & pass/VPN - should feel more like what it is, rather than an add on service.

Proton keeps on improving with every update. They have support for browsing synced PCs now, support for auto uploads too. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the overall service doesn't have rclone/rsync capability. Currently I sync my file server to a PC and then sync that folder to proton drive. I'd rather have a cron or script to rsync my backups and files directly to Proton Drive. When this is implemented easy 5/5

I love the app, but I would love to see some additions. I'd like to see the ability for the app to recognize certain files are not in the drive, then sync them. Currently, if I've uploaded a photo before, I can no longer upload it in the future, even if its been deleted in the drive. I had issues syncing, and so I had to delete the drive content and start over, leaving me with the inability to backup my photos. Other additions ill submit via suggestion.

Unlimited subscriber here. Overall, app performance has improved significantly since initial release. However, photo backup is unusable at present. Besides extreme sluggishness of the backup, the images can't be moved to other Drive folders once they are backed up. I photo document different projects where I need to move the images to different folders shared with other principals for those projects. It's better and faster to simply select the images and upload them directly to the folder.

I'm a huge fan of the Proton ecosystem, but the photos backup feature is annoying. I've been waiting for like 3 weeks to hame my photos uploaded and in the first week it didn't uploaded a single photo it was just on a loading page, now it has backed up about 4 months of photos and one single photo o the 3 oldest months, every thing in between has been loading for a week

Claim as of April 10: Fixed the endless encrypting/backing up issue after stopping the backup. Fact: This is still a problem. Every single time backup is stopped (such as from wifi to data), it tries to backup thousands of photos all over again. Also why do I need to copy a link from the app to a browser to download a folder?

Reliable. password/ access expiry dates work well. Android: connect PDrive to PMail for full attachments from within an email draft. I have to start from drive, then gen a new email, to send via email. Should also work the other way around. Desktop filesync picks up too many hidden files, creates dozens of error msgs. Photo sync tool needs REFINEMENT, handy, but need to sync custom folders where I organize downloaded photos on my device, that filder heirarchy should be mirrored on pDrive.

Great app, love the privacy focus, and I even fixed a minor issue by just uninstalling and reinstalling the app (a solution that usually NEVER works for me, but did this time). My only complaint is that you can't select multiple items to make available offline, it has to be 1 at a time. That kinda gets tiresome if you have more than 50 photos/videos you want to make available offline. Please implement a "Select All" choice for that, and I'll have nothing more to complain about.

I want to like this app, I really do. I pay for a proton plan but drive isn't what it needs to be. It buffers so much, especially on photos and videos that are stored offline. Selecting a file to play will load a completely different file too. Why is the buffering and loading so slow? Even on a high speed internet connection. Please improve your app.
