I really enjoy a lot about this player. The EQ was fun, color scheme was there. But, can't play WMA files. Not that it's a huge deal since most music today is MP3, but the few albums I have that are WMA wouldn't play. I don't want to have to convert those songs or have a separate player for them. Truly the only reason this isn't 5 stars.

Update: For the past couple of months, when I exit an app with sound, Pulsar will automatically start playing. I wish this would stop. I don't see any settings or update options to fix this. ----------- I love the ease of this player. Since my phone updated just over a week ago, the controls no longer show up on the lock screen. Does anyone have a fix for this?

It's a good app and works great, I just wish there was a way to add specific folders, because media scan does not pick up my audiobooks. I have to use another app to listen to those, and the best I've found is kinda dodgy. I hope you add support for this sometime soon. Maybe add a setting to also scan the audiobooks directory. Thanks

I really like the crosssfade. It was why I looked into this app. While the crossfade did not disappoint, the equalizer on the pro version has fallen short of expectations so far. I can't seem to get the sound right. I went to yet another player and got the sound wanted. I'll keep trying to figure out the issue with the sound on this app (no crossfade on the other one), but no luck so far.

Very easy to use for on-device music from old CDs. This was the only Androind app since Google Music's demise that I found that could handle gap-free playback, as well as keep double CD songs in order. Other apps often couldn't tell the difference between separate versions of the same song from different CDs. This app keeps all the songs and albums in prpoer order, and will play them back as they were on the disks, even gapless playback. Bravo Pulsar!

Like that this app displays the album art work or at least a picture of the artist as it plays the music. Well thought out and easy to use. App does not allow editing of song tracks, at least the song title. During transfer from my hard drive to my sim card, several of the songs transferred as "Track 1." The app will not allow me to input the correct son title.

The best music player I have ever tried. It has one small issue I wish they would fix. When you display albums, it lists the Artist when it should display Album artist. The issue is with Complication albums, It displays the name of the first Artist when it should display the album artist which I list as Various Artists. THen when you try to edit the tag, like to add album artwork, it overwrites all the Artist names with the one.

The BEST music player ever! No ads and works great! Loads of options. I looked and looked all over the app store and tried them all. This is the best one hands down. It's got great shuffle. Playlists and is totally configurable to have it just as you need! It's almost like the built in one Samsung used to have but TONS BETTER. Plus No Ads! Not a single one. I WILL be donating to the devs. If you get this app you'll want to as well because it's so DAMN AMAZING! NOTHING COMES CLOSE. PERIOD!!!!!!!!

Impossible to close the app. Music track continued to stay open in memory despite several tries to close the application. There wasn't even an option to completely close it in Settings/apps/pulsar. Finally decided to close it by permanently uninstalling the app altogether. Extremely annoying. When are music player creators going to start programming their apps to actually shut down when the user closes it?

Anyway to remove the track list after selecting a genre from the genre menu?Best player out there in my opinion. Can play by folders, genres, albums, artists. Shows album art as well. Very easy to use. Thank you. Turned an old android phone to an mp3 player. Only thing I would recommend is to add a vertical volume slider on the right side on the albums art screen (invisible until sliding figures upward). Make it optional via settings. Probably has more features but haven't needed them or looked.

This app works well. No ads, big plus. Speed is good, too. I have about 8000 .mp3s loaded on my phone and the last app I tried took forever to load. This one pops up in a second. Buttons are fairly intuitive, even for an old guy like me. I think I'm gonna stick with this one! However, it doesn't show album covers well. Only a few of them show, most won't. Not sure why.

Hello? I've been using this app for 4-5 years and thank you. From some point on, if you search for a singer's name, the same song file is generated. Even if you delete it, it is generated again. In conclusion, the total number of songs increases a lot. This time ~update is worse. Please correct it..

Have used this app for years on various phones. Huge thank you to the developer(s) for making this app free. I cannot justify paying for what should be a default feature of the phone. (I have paid for specialized apps, but they target a smaller user base.) Music, or audio playback of any sort, should be a default feature...that's not laced with obtrusive ads.

I really like this music player. My only gripe with it is that if you slow down music, the mini player on the lockscreen doesn't display the correct position in the song. Edit: I have to take a star away. 2 critical bugs: After a phone call, the music player will resume, then stop soon after. Also, the music player will fail to continue to the next song if I just playing music through the phone's speakers if the screen is turned off. This bug will not occur if I am using Bluetooth or headphones

Reliable and easy to work with. Loading your music files in is wicked easy, and you can make playlists. I love the automatic album and artist art updates. I don't know why anyone would use streaming, Amazon app, or the YouTube music app when they can use this instead. Used on multiple phones, and glad it's stayed consistent over time.

Randomly stops playing songs but it's add free and straight forward to use... Being able to easily edit mp3 metadata is a huge plus. If you want access to the equalizer you'll have to buy the premium version, so that's a bummer... but for what you get for the free version, it's the best mp3 software for android IMO and I've tried half a dozen others so far. I'll keep this one...

**UPDATE: After a recent update, playback stops randomly, in the middle of a song even. Player shows music is playing but it isn't. Pressing pause then play it restarts, but skips back 2 songs. Please fix!** UI is good, and ad-free is great. Option to remove duplicates from playlists is nice, but warning that songs have already been added w/ option to skip duplicates would be better. Pausing makes controls disappear from the lock screen almost immediately.

It's a music player they are all pretty much the same. This one is very simple. I'm glad this one doesn't have intrusive ads. There is an issue with it randomly pauses itself for no reason. 5/17 This has become more often and now it also randomly pauses at the beginning of a track. It's gotten so bad I have to remove the app sorry, I tried.

The way music used to be! I love that this is an easy music app to play MP3s. Organization and navigation is easy, and it even is compatible with Android Auto. No more paying for music streaming services or listening to commercials for albums I've already payed for (no thanks to Amazon music for that). Pulsar was exactly what I was looking for.

I love this app so much! No ads, direct metadata/tag editing, the appearance and UI are seriously customizeable, and the ability to auto-download album covers is incredibly useful. The only reason I can't give it a 5-star rating is because in many cases, if you download multiple songs from the same album, they will show up as separate albums, even if all of the metadata is identical. Not that annoying most of the time, but it can be inconvenient if you want to listen to a full album in order.
