This app used to be great until 2 months ago when it stopped collecting points for my receipts. I should have gotten 20 points for my Walmart purchases the last two months but I've received nothing. Not even for my Amazon purchases (and I purchased A LOT in December). The only points I received was for my Google Play purchases. My Walmart and Amazon have been connected and synced since DAY 1. I don't understand, and I think I'm going to uninstall. Oh well.

Updated Review! Got a response on my review but here's the problem, I am connected through Walmart Connect but the walmart connect feature has not been working at all. It connected once and ever since then it's saying "hmm...we encountered an error while syncing the following retailer(s), please review." The issue is that my Login details are correct, so they don't need to be updated and the try again feature doesn't do a thing, i let it sit for over 30 minutes and it failed to scan anything.

Overall, it is pretty easy and involves very little effort after you link your email addresses and the stores they have available that you have an account with (Amazon, Target, Walmart, and a few others.) you simply take pictures of all paper receipts you have and sync your digital accounts (1 click and it syncs all of your accounts for eligible receipts). You accumulate points that you can spend on PayPal payouts at $5 or gift cards. but there are a lot of restrictions on what they'll accept.

Red line placement is way off. The receipt is well within the red lines with the edges visible on preview, but edge is cut off when uploaded. Button to click does not always work. Error message says "please keep phone" and nothing else. Plenty of light, steady phone, etc. App has to be force closed and restarted. It will scan another receipt or two, and then the same error happens again. 🤬

Decent receipt app, has it flaws. The main issue that I have is the syncing of online accounts, mine gets stuck & no matter how many times I cancel & restart, it doesn't fix the issue, the bar won't go any further than a 1/4 of the way.... Other than that, it's over a decent app.

Good in principle but not execution. Walmart constantly needs to verify if you're real (Walmart does this not ReceiptJar) Costco fails to scan and have to email receipts in. When scanning a lot of receipts app gets very sluggish and can freeze, it eats a lot of memory when scanning, after scanning a few receipts have to exit and clear from memory and reopen it, phone has 12 GB / 256 GB. Hopefully an update can fix the scanning issue.

I have gotten enough points to redeem and I'm unable to redeem them. It wants me to connect my email which is ridiculous and doesn't work. It will not even let me connect my email in order to redeem my points. I have sent multiple emails and have gotten no where. I would not recommend this app at this point. I have multiple apps that pay in exchange for steps game play etc and they all pay out. NOT this one.

Used to be perfectly fine but the last month or so it has been so glitchy. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. I've cleared the cash. I've done everything you say to do but it will not stay open long enough for me to do anything. It keeps kicking me out. And the best part is I have a survey worth some coins I'm trying to fill out but I can't even fill it out cuz the app won't work anymore 🤦🏻‍♀️

It takes about 4 mins to open app & when switching between background/on screen. Ive installed it on 3 different devices & it's always the same. I don't use as often as other receipt apps bcuz of this. Info on my spending habits is cool. Slow to accrue points; Using since Sept.2023 & only have 1,300. (1900=$10) Receipts worth 5-20 pts depending on $ spent. Only allowed 120 pts/wk, thereafter, all receipts get 5pts, regardless of $ amount. Haven't tried to redeeming for a payout yet.

I have had this for some months and have been able to successfully cash out, so it is legitimate. Pros: Having the option of cashing by PayPal instead of just gift cards. The jar keeps adding up in points the more you redeem. Cons: Redeeming shakes most of the time never gives you points. Online syncing NEEDS to be fixed it takes forever to finish uploading online receipts and when synced it ends up not giving you your points. Overall it's not a horrible app just needs some updating.

This app needs an overhaul. It's the slowest and buggiest of the receipt scanning apps I use. In addition to this, it has a limit on the number of receipts you can upload from the same retailer from the same day, complete with a message accusing me of stealing other people's receipts. I went to several different Dollar General locations today, and had a few different transactions at some of them, so all of the receipts are mine. Screw you for implying they weren't. I rate this app 0 stars.

Was ok at the start but needs a serious rework. This is by far the slowest receipt app i have. Others take maybe 2-5secs to open and be ready. This app takes at least 30secs to open since its "loading my account", then when i tap to take a photo, it restarts the loading account process. In order to take a photo, it's about a 1min process. Super inconvenient. It also can't finish pulling my online receipts.

Was a good app when I first installed it but the past 6 months I have not been getting credit for my instacart orders and as of late my Walmart orders either. I've reached out to customer service on a few occasions and I get the same response.... restart the app, disconnect the stores and reconnect and still no points. Not to mention even with reaching out they haven't corrected the points that I have not been given. It's not worth the time or aggravation anymore.

I liked this app, it was simple and fast, until they changed the receipts that are accepted. Now you can't upload receipts that are more than 7 days old. They say this was implemented to speed up processing times, but they were quick enough already. I have 3 apps like this one, and receipt jar was always the fastest to process receipts, it was a matter of minutes. I do not like the change that they've made at all. Overall it works well, it's not hard to get to redeem points. Varied gift cards.

App is slow, takes forever to build enough points to cash out. They don't give points for lots of purchases. You can eventually earn $5 after months and months of scanning receipts, and syncing online purchases each week but honestly it's not really worth the effort. Especially when most if the time it never syncs online receipts or if it does work, you likely won't get any points for it anyway. You have to verify your identity before they pay, and it takes a minimum of 48 hours to receive GC.

This app wastes a lot of time compared to other receipt apps. Despite taking pics of receipts using the flash, the pics almost always come out dark and it takes a few tries to take a pic with good lighting that will be accepted. I just had 4 receipts to scan and had to take 10 photos in order to do! Also, my Target account will not stay linked in order to synch online purchases. I've had to login so many times! And I don't like getting 5 points for high dollar receipts at the end the week.

Great app to earn gift cards. Only I issue I'm having is when I first open the app and click on the camera icon, it's goes back to loading the home screen instead of opening the camera. So it takes a bit longer then it should to start snapping pics. I also don't like that the camera opens with the flash automatically turned on. The flash usually makes my receipts unreadable, so I have to start over and turn it off. Not a deal breaker, but it is a bit annoying.
