RentCafe Resident App features (options vary based on each community):
- Submit one-time payments in three easy steps with various payment methods.
- Set up monthly automatic payments to help you avoid late fees.
- Share rent, utility, and other costs with roommates using monthly automatic payments
- Submit maintenance requests with photos and voice memos and track progress along the way.
- Reserve community amenities such as the clubhouse, meeting rooms, and pool area with just a few taps.
- Track when your packages are delivered or picked up, all within your app.
- Sign and complete your lease renewal directly in the app.

The RentCafe Resident app has been designed for communities that use the RentCafe platform as their Resident Portal. Update: I can finally, a year and half after the update that made it useless for me, use it. But, it's super simple. Not a lot to it. I suppose many like that. I find it, meh. But, I can make rental payments again using the app rather then the website and there are also maintance requests listed on there. I don't see a payment history, which is on the site and I don't see the charges broken down like on the site which would be nice as well. It just has total due and that's it.

The app does what it's designed to do, pay rent electronically and place maintenance tickets and that's why I use it. However, if paying from my bank account, the entire account number is visible! For security reasons that is not acceptable and needs to be fixed ASAP! Only the last 4 digits of our accounts numbers should be visible. Update: The bank account numbers have been decreased to the last four digits. Thank you!!

Biometric still doesn't work, and you can't even set it up once you're signed in. I still have to reset my password whenever I try to access the app (sometimes Verification Code sent via text works, but not always). My maintenance history is always empty despite submitting multiple requests in the past. Not reliable for tracking anything in my opinion, including rent payments. The layout is nice and straightforward. Wish I could tell if anyone actually fixes these bugs ever.

Great app. Love the features and the simplicity in submitting maintenance requests. My only issue is the inability to look back at historical payments and the semi confusing layout of the bills. It would be great to be able to easily see what you paid 3 months ago or a year ago and compare it to what you are paying now. Hopefully this could be implemented some day.

This app has been great so far! The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to the maintenance request feature. There is a field that pops up after submission titled "Permission to enter?", this field doesn't appear until AFTER you submit the request and is always set to "No, do not enter." I always have to call the leasing office to get them to change the status for me, which is a bit annoying. The app would be perfect if RENTCafé fixes that little oversight.

Could not complete a maintenance request because the buttons did not work. It was very hard to get the drop down menus to respond and show their options but the worst and most frustrating part was once I finally finished the form, the Submit button at the bottom was completely unresponsive. I ended up going to my apartment's website on my computer instead of using the app. I was using the app build for Creekview Crossing

My complex went to this method of payment vs mailing it in to the Wellington Group which is more convenient. However, there is $4.95 convenience fee each month which I believe is ridiculous. I'd rather mail it in using a check. It should be free to residents. The apartment complex should pay the fee or just let us pay at the leasing off via a drop box. The ledgers are difficult to read and understand. The maintenance request feature is nice and easy to use. We don't have access to documents

This app has great potential. You can set up your profile, complete with a photo and banking preferences or information, and submit maintenance requests with email confirmation. The only drawback I experience with this app is its recently missing "Make A Payment" tab. So, as of now, if you want to make maintenance requests with an app for your apartment, this is the one.

It's slow, barren, and as far from helpful as you can get without being an actual hindrance. The only positive point it has is that there is a dark mode. Payments take up to a week to process, notifications will not work no matter how many times I enable them. The in-app email doesn't work at all, and crashes when I attempt to contact my property management. This app is bad, and if you're a property owner looking to use an app to allow electronic payment, use literally anything else.

I am unable to use this app in any meaningful way. Once I log in and get into the "Request Service," I cannot get back to the main page using my back button, the "X," or the back button in the App. Other pages are the same - basically unusable. All the links take you to other sites you have to log into... it's basically a web browser that doesn't work well as a browser. Multiple issues that need fixed.

Very Glitchy! Not able to reset my password. I just get an extremely useless message. "There was a problem resetting your password. Thank you!" Yes... it actually says thank you. I see no where to get support either. When you can get into the app it,s much better than the Rent Cafe website. Yet you can't enjoy the functionality if you can't log in! There's a way to login with a code sent to your phone. I don't want to do that every time, just want to be able to reset my password 🙄

App Needs Another Update! The app keeps closing as soon as I log in. sent a couple of different emails through the feedback channels and still no response. the app worked fine (for 1 week) when I first got registered with it and now every time I log in the app crashes. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times, no change. You would think that an app, that many people are required to use to pay their rent, would be properly maintained and bug free!

Most part is functional & easy to use. I like the maintenance feature, so I don't have to call it in. Would be nice to add a video feature there as well as having the photo feature. Trying to register a guest has been an issue since day one with the app. I followed the instructions to register a car & it just kept giving an error message. I stopped trying after the 2nd attempt & haven't used it since.

Lots of bugs. Biometric sign in often doesn't work. I'll get notifications that my apartment has posted an announcement, so I'll go to the app and it says there's nothing there. It always repeats each bill I have every month so it shows I have two rent payments due, two water bills, etc. I wouldn't recommend this app to be used for an apartment community.

App won't let me sign in, with my email and password or with a one-time code. Keeps giving me an error when I input the correct password (I know it's correct because I can log into the website just fine). The one-time code option tries to send me another code then gets stuck in the same screen without sending me a second code. Previously worked fine but now it's useless.

Initial setup was a bit of a pain. I was under the impression this was separate from the previous login/payment portal we were using. I also REALLY don't like how there is no payment breakdown. Our leasing office has maliciously snuck charges into our rent payments, and our previous portal had line item balances for each charge (rent, water, trash, etc.), so I could discuss or dispute anything that shouldn't be there. I don't have that option with this app.

$5.99 fee to pay your bill if awfully high. especially for those who are on a fixed income and are disabled, unable to work to make extra money to live. other than that it is convenient and easy to use especially for those who do have trouble getting out. going to an ATM the fee is .89 cents and a money order is only $1 something. so if this app charged a $2 fee I think it would be more reasonable.

I selected the App to download and opened it up, but it did not register on my device. It then asked to search for the name of the property or address and after everything l typed in, l hit the search button and NOTHING!!! The App doesn't register or allow an account to be made. This is costing me money and trouble because l can't use the Flex Card. I now have to write a check and use money l needed for Car Repairs! Thanks for NOTHING!!! Epic Fail!!! 👎

The app is very useful for posting the rent of your apartment. But it fails in integrating with the phone system, and it has some bugs. For me, the announcement section shows an error. So when the messages from the administrator are also emailed, I can be informed, but if not, then I have no idea. Also, closing the app is kind of difficult.

The app is easy to use for all resident services. I have used it to check my account balance, re new payment history, make payments, schedule and review maintenance requests. it allows me to schedule payments from my bank or credit account. ***note that the availability to charge credit depends on your property management company's settings. in my area, an extra fee applies.
