I love the idea behind Resilio and peer to peer syncing so I really wanted to like this Android app. Unfortunately it has issues. It has a persistent notification (so that it can run constantly in the background) and it has eaten up my battery on several occasions. I mainly just want a reliable way to back up the photos on my phone to my NAS. Unfortunately I don't think Resilio will work for my needs.

This seemed like a promising app, reasonably easy to setup, syncing seemed to work properly, but it uses excessive battery. I did an overnight test, having one small fully synced folder and left my phone on from a fully charged state. Resilio used 91.26 mAh over battery over 7 hours and 21 minutes with no app usage, screen off, and no sync changes. Far more than anything else running on my phone. Almost 14 min of CPU time, woke my phone 24 times and 36 wake locks for 1h and 28 min of wakelock.

For the most part it works great. I use it mostly to sync mp3s (podcasts) and to get pictures and videos of my phone. The main issue I have where it doesn't work all that well is with small text files. They tend to stop syncing when making changes. It would be the perfect app if I could get that working.

awesome tool to either backup or synchronize data between your devices. I use it to backup the important data from my phone to my laptop, and unlike Syncthing it actually allows one way syncs with deletes, which means you can safely backup your data from your phone to computer and then delete the data on the phone to free up space. Syncthing mirrors everything, so data you delete on your phone also gets deleted from your computer.

It keeps writing numeric ghost folders to my SD card. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling it didn't help. So now I just shut it down after I know that I'm synced and open it up again if I need to sync again. Basically if I just run the app about once a week for about a half hour I'm good. I'm concerned that the app hasn't been updated since last Aug. I give it 4 stars because it syncs my phone with my PC and vice-versa without having to use a cloud and I'm not aware of any other app to do that.

Used it as a simple way to move files from Essential Ph-1 Android phone to my Windows 10 (64) desktop. Installed home version on desktop & designated a "shared" folder. Installed the free version on phone. Used different user names on devices. Connected phone by photo of QR code to see the other device's shared folder. It was that simple! Then Sync became useless. Rescanning the QR seemed to work but after that nothing worked. Not even the supplied bread crumbs prompts. Sync would simply not sync or move anything - all for a paltry $50!

A "fire-and-forget" replacement for OneDrive/Dropbox/iCloud etc. Running on a Raspberry Pi back home, I now have unlimited cloud storage for only $70 after buying the Pro license. (My only complaint is the Linux integration is not as INTEGRATED as it is on Windows.) Been using it like this for awhile now, and I've had zero stability or data-loss issues. Setup is quicker and less fiddlesome than Syncthing/NextCloud etc, IMHO. It literally just works on every device and OS I've dropped it on.

A little awkward but mostly works. I use this to transfer photos from one camera to another and it works quite well there, but when it comes to uploading to Google Photos, sometimes I have to exit Photos completely and start again, sometimes several times, to get everything. I'm not sure why it has this trouble, or how much of this is a Sync vs Photos problem, but before installing Sync, that phone had no trouble uploading everything to Photos all in one shot.

Awesome multiplatform tool. Excellent to keep files sync'd between devices of all flavors (Linux, iOS, Windows, Android)... Great for backup... Great for media library access (selectively download content)... Wish it had better Linux installation and interface, but once set up it works great! Also would be great if a better file manager were built in (with more capability)

Resilio sync, while transferring files quickly, is quite difficult in Windows and Linux to configure, as it insists on using its own root folder. It's VERY confusing on how to setup remote devices. Once folders are setup, they immediately are shared between devices, whether you want them or not. There's pathetic documentation on the three different folder types. Developers' comments are condescending and unclear. Most apps are intuitive, except this one. Maybe focus-group outside of California.

Edit: This app has come far since its first release. App nearly opens immediately, downloading files has been sped up, and it closes in a breeze! Old review: Now includes: lengthy wait times to close, AND open the app, buggy, sometimes can't even open app itself, download progress bars glitch out and flash, can't remove synced files from device, and more!

Resilio Sync is a great app I have been using since it came out originally as BitTorrent Sync. Ever since the last update was released (2.6.3), the app has crashed nearly evey minute and has become unuseable. (Even after freshly installing) The good news is, by reverting to 2.6.2 and disabling automatic updates, the app runs perfectly fine and is compatible with the other clients. However, for an app I paid for, I would have expected an update to fix this by now...

I absolutely crave this app anytime I need to download or upload large files to any of my computers and NAS's connected. I don't think anything comes close to the level of incredible service this app provides. There is a bit of a learning curve. It is absolutely achievable. Just TAKE time and absorb. *I would like to suggest* a button to Reannounce myself, or to automate that, upon network change. I would love the ability to refresh my connection upon change or loss/reconnect of network

Sometimes at first there was confusion when creating shares etc. But worth it. Love it. Have been using it for several years. Especially since Dropbox changed their free plan to only include three devices. App seems to be working well on desktop, laptop, Android phones, and Chromebook. However, it would let me create a share on the SD card in my Chromebook, but then never actually worked. In that case, it looks like the share must be on the Chromebook local Drive.

It's good at syncing files most of the time, but sometimes it gets confused and has to be restarted. More seriously, the newest version of a file is considered to be the only important version of the file. So when concurrent edits are made on different devices, the newest one wins and the others are lost. You have to be really careful in these situations or you lose data. A better conflict resolution scheme would be nice. Show conflicted versions, for example.

The syncing works really well as long as you're not trying to sync a folder that was previously managed by Resilio Sync (likely old metadata causing problems). The encrypted sync feature is super useful for untrusted devices, although it's not without limitations. However I ultimately can't recommend this app for mobile phones due to the very high battery usage. The app has a sleep mode but doesn't allow you to configure the scheduler. SyncThing is harder to setup, but much lighter on battery.

Resilio Sync will ramdomly delete your files permanently. For years there has been a bug: sometimes the app will erase the contents of random files, leaving an empty file behind with a size of "Zero Bytes". The file contents are gone forever: even the backup version in the archive is erased. This has been a known issue for years. It has been fixed a few times but then the issue comes back again. Obviously I can't use a sync app that randomly erases my data. I hope they fix it.

Extremely useful, but I wish I could add directories from external storage like the desktop version can. I also don't like how in backup folders everything is displayed as a large list of files instead of folders like normal, & I can't choose to remove a whole folder from my device & have to individually remove each file, it also makes it difficult to download those files back to my device since I can't just find them in their folder & have to scroll through that giant list.

Love it, have way more control over my data than with Google Drive, and it's not stored in anyone else's servers. Seems quicker to sync than Google, too. Literally the only thing I don't like about it is I bought the family edition and they still interrupt me to rate it. No, either it's free and I'll give you some word of mouth advertising, or I pay for it, and that is what you get out of me. Otherwise it would warrant five stars.

Works well once you get it set up: confusing at times. Sometimes, I think it is me, but then I go back later and do what I did before, and it works. The biggest complaint is the app itself as it does not have a provision to back up the settings. It is a horrible mess when you have 5 or 10 syncs pairs, and you have to do it all over again. Needs options to backup to a default location or SD card location (preferred].
