The best rock identifying app around!!! You can actually take a photo of the rock in question, and it shows you 3 different possible types. And gives you different photos to compare and all sorts of information about the type. My only "meerrr" I have with the app is that if the possible types it suggests are not the same rock you have, you can't just rescan the photo or retake the photo and try it again. You have to go back and it automatically saves it as one of the suggestions.

This app is amazing! The premium membership is completely worth it! When I was looking for advise for an app that included my long list of wants I was told that there wasn't an app that came close to meeting my criteria... but they were wrong! This one does! Only 2 minor things I wish I could change 1) the ability to make separate lists for the different members of my family for "owned" & "want" items; it can be hard keeping track 4 collections. 2) the appearance is very basic but does its job.

When it's working, it's an awesome app!! The 1 thing that I think sucks, is that when you go to correct the name of the stone, after it has done its searching, it does NOT correct the name of the stone completely. Their name that the have decided it was still is in the rock description & I think that isn't very cool at all, in fact, it's very frustrating

Good app with room to improve. I've tried most of the commercial apps currently available, and in terms of delivering on accurate rock identification, this one does a superior job at the primary task. There are still misidentifications, but it's over 80% accurate for me. It also balances scientific names and compositions with common names, making it a more enjoyable experience. The navigation could be improved, including changing rock IDs after they're selected. Overall quite strong.

I'd give it better, I would. Sure, it makes mistakes sometimes, but so does anyone looking at rocks that ain't trained in it, so, 🤷? It's a really good rock app. The thing that irritates me though, is that it dangles the possibility of monthly subscription in your face, but there doesn't seem to be any way to actually get it. If it's not an option, take it off the app; if it is, let me set up monthly, dangit! You can't choose any option in the menu besides the yearly and it's frustrating.

App works great for well-known or generic specimens as well as logging your finds. However, it fails to identify the samples that are not so common 80% of the time. Honestly, Google Lens does a better job of identifying samples, and it is FREE. To call the app "Rock Identifier," this is rather misleading. I forgot to cancel before the end of the free trial. Now I just use it to log my finds that I have to identify using other resources. Do not waste your money on the paid version.

Great app, if it worked. The results are inconsistent but also redundant. Even if you pay i actually found no difference between paid and unpaid. Thought maybe I'd get better results but it was all the same. The catalog that they have info on is AMAZING. but I find I have no use without an app that actually can identify. It just needs some work. Awesome idea. Awesome set up as the actual app. It's one of those apps I'll keep my eye on for future updates. Progress takes time.

This app is AMAZING! Please don't listen to negative reviews... They just don't know how to use it! Identifications are spot on! While it does have trouble identifying some rocks... The AI learns from you. You can identify it manually if you know what it is. If it does not match correctly you can hit the back arrow and will get a prompt "was the rock identified?" To which you can select yes or no. Selecting no will tell the AI that all choices were wrong, therefore learning! Best rock app!!

First off it's not very accurate... secondly, it's very expensive and they offer NO refunds despite being incredibly inactive. However, to be fair they do offer a very short free trial w a credit card. It also would be very cool if it was more accurate, and you do have the option of adding your rock/mineral (perhaps that's the problem?!).

If you don't have the premium you will have ads. I quickly got the paid version though as I wanted to keep my rocks in the catalog. It's a good app. Pretty accurate. Lots of helpful information. If I could make one little change I'd make it so you can put your rocks into folder types. So maybe I can sort out my hearts and towers. The 2nd thing I'd do is add an auto renumber. So when you get rid of the rock you don't have to relable all of your rocks or have the wrong # marked. Other than that ♡

First of all, there is no instructions of what to do to access the app. Second, and this is a big, bad one, you get redirected to a distribution page where you are prompted to register. There are indicators that this page is like a clearing house for multiple apps and tools, etc. So, okay. But then after entering the usual info they want a credit card number. What!? No! Third, way too many adds. Right in the middle of an action! Fourth, waaay too many typos. Trashy .

Great potential... I really want to love this app, but multiple times a day it "fails to connect" and has to be force restarted to work. If you minimize the screen while it is identifying or saving, when you come back to the screen it has errored out and you have to start the process all over again. It lists ALL rocks you save/scan to a single selection with no way to divide it up into smaller collections. This app could be amazing, but it's not quite there...

The idea of this app is great, but it doesn't seem to be very accurate. If you take a picture from 3 angles, you are going to get 9 different possible answers. For the ones it was actually able to identify, it does help that the correct ID was 1st more times than not. With these issues, it is totally not worth paying for. If there was a way to make it more accurate, I would consider $20/year. Plus, I am not sure if you have the ability to search the stone names, but that would be helpful too.

I really enjoy this app, and I think it so deserves 5 stars. However, after photographing about 2 or 3 rocks and adding them to my collection, it starts showing a wifi error and says reconnected. It won't be disconnected but wants me to think it is. It get very aggravating. It keeps showing this over & over when I click the button to take photo. I always have to close everything I have opened to get it back taking photos, but after 2 or 3 photos it's starts again with the wifi issues. AGGRAVATED

This is an amazing app. It has been very accurate so far. I'll continue testing it and will update if I find any discrepancies in its accuracy. Update: I took away 2 stars because I have some rocks in my collection that I have had for a long time. The acquisition dater needs to be updated to have the year and month/day separate so that I don't have to spend a lot of time going back to dates 40+ years ago, & if my finger slips off the back arrow onto the calendar, it goes back to today's date.

I was enjoying the fact that it was correctly identifying the rocks that I have collected, but then being that I was charged a full years subscription when I was 5 hours into a "7 day free trial" with no refund is false advertisement makes me feel scammed and not willing to trust this app further. I've cancelled the subscription and will be avoiding any of their future projects.

Truly the best rock/Crystal identier I have downloaded! I use this application constantly! So easy, I pull my phone out when I'm shopping for crystals to identify them and to find out what their spiritual uses are. This app gives information like the makeup of a stone, if it's man made or natural. What it is used for, or what not to pair it with. There is so much more information I didn't even list! You have the option to buy a premium package, but I find the free very detailed and have no need

The app properly identified a rock. In less then a minute. Great. That was after 5 minutes of navigating constant pop-ups for purchasing the premium version. When an app prompts you immediately for a free trial with no obvious escape, its not a reputable app or legitimate company. It's a scam. Dont bother with this one.

Good idea, TERRIBLE execution. 1. any time you try to "add" a new picture of a mineral in your collection, you HAVE to choose them ALL at ONCE every time you want to add multiples, or it deletes them each time. 2. You literally have to close the app after every identification. if not, the next rock you try to identify, no matter how many times you click the camera button, it will NOT take the picture. 3. Misidentifes CONSTANTLY due to camera flash. wont be paying for it once my trial ends.

This app has some serious issues. When I choose a photo, the zoom function doesn't work right, so you can't center the rock properly. Second, when adding a rock your collection, and you try to add photos, the app maddeningly deleted any previous photos instead of adding them. My main problem was that I found the identifications very general and broad. It will propose three or four possibilities that vary widely, so it's just not very helpful. I just ended up frustrated and getting little help.
