This app just wants you to pay for it and then it stops working. I subscribed for a week and it's an automatic renewing subscription that's created. If you choose to Cancel your subscription but are within a period that you paid for, you're unable to login! Absolutely horrendous how Apps like this can even be available on the Play store. Also, most of the people who show up on the app seem to be bots and I wasn't able to find anyone through this.

Garbage. Customer support is useless, never responds. Any form of messaging (at least for me, even after I pay the fee) doesn't seem to work. No search options. Links provided by other users to their "pages" are inaccessible. If you pay the fee nothing gets any better. If you stop paying the fee the email or account you use to login is locked out of the website. Plenty of other problems too. But I think I've said enough. This app is worthless.

It worked ok for a bit. There aren't many people on it for my area. Then it started giving me error messages. It would send me notifications that I had a new message or that a new room was posted but when I go to the app it says "u able to get user info" but logs me in and shows my profile with no issues, and the other error message is "unable to load conversations" so now I can't see any messages from the people who have sent them. I tried closing and opening the app again, and reinstalling.

It costs U.S. $9.99 plus tax to access/communicate with the ads, per week. The app is extremely buggy, and frustrating to use. it doesn't sort properly, you can't save searches. I constantly received "Server Error" messages, and various screens stopped working. I received directed communications from individuals advertising rooms in areas I have no interest in. Initially, the support team responded immediately, but after several complaints, they stopped responding completely.

Very expensive and very low quality. Very little description is allowed, pictures are cut off, all numbers are removed from text, can't turn off emails notifications without turning off push notifications too, get bombarded with "broadcast" messages from everyone. Can't believe they charge so much for this when FB marketplace is 10 times better and completely free.

Costs money to use, has a terrible referencing system, and while it is easy to search for new places to rent, it is horrible at actually connecting you to the renters. I've had notifications of messages from renters, but as soon as I close the app, they're gone. I can't find the messages again online or in the app, so now I'm missing out on rooms I could've rented by now.

I understand that to get money on a initially free app, there has to be a charge for the service. But $10 for 7 days? Shoot. Other swiping apps are much cheaper than that. Only one way to swipe. I don't even know if it matches people up. Swipe them and the next one is the same person. Top 5 grossing? Probably just one time users not fighting for their money back.

I quit using it after 5 minutes, because anytime I would enter the app it made me post a listing. I just wanted to see matches first!!!! Also everytime I try and see the location of a place, I get a really zoomed in maps, and then it takes me 5 minutes of trying to pinch to unzoom it to see where it is because the menu is so sensitive!!! Really annoying to use, gonna try somewhere else.

Initally a nice idea & service, but beware subscription auto renew billing. Once charged, then cancelled, you will not be refunded. I recommend using Spare Room instead that does not auto rebill. Beware of Fake Listings (usually that say to contact them directly via email, are out of town, and may contain duplicate photos from other posts). There are quite a number of them that get posted and send messages. Roomster does seem to catch & delete them, but only after a day or two.

Strange. They're bordering on fraudulent advertising. After an initial 10-day full-access purchase, I decided to cancel. They offered a 7-day full-access pass for $9.99 which I purchased. I was looking for my next place to live, not a permanent ongoumg bill. I checked witgin the app during this 7-day pass, no mention of recurring fee or renewal. Nothing. Imagine my surprise when I get billed another $9.99 gor an additional 7-days and they now call it a subscription. Asked for refund! :( !

This app is a scam. People from the app also post on craigslist. When yoi get in contact with them. You are directed to fill out info on the app. Problem is, once you sign up, you have to pay for a background check. The next thing is that you dont get respondes back from message you leave directly to people about what they have available. Oh yeah you have to pay for that too. Basicall lot of searching, to lead nowhere. Except the lost of a $9.99 charge for backgrounds N $9.99 to send messages.

Their customer's service responds very fast. Additionally, the search results are good. However, the subscription costs are a bit pricey and if you're not paying close attention to the time left in it, you could lose money. Ex: Signed up for the 5 day subscription and forgot to unsubscribe until the 6th day with no refund possible. I understand the receipt included this info, but the renewed subscription should not automatically be for a month, especially if someone only does the 5 day pack.

I've had nothing but difficulty with Roomster. I used them once before and had problems but decided to try again in case they had improved. They haven't. It took me several tries to get anyone from support to help me with billing. Then they automatically removed payments from my bank account, but wouldn't give me access to my mailbox. Then, out of nowhere, I can't login anymore because my Facebook was flagged for "suspicious" activity after I used it for months. Don't waste your time and money!

Update: everything else is v still true but they contacted me via the app to address my review and it just kept opening page after page after page until I closed the app. Top notch, folks. I literally couldn't read messages. I received them and when I opened them it was just a blank screen no matter how long I waited. The same rooms show in the same order every time you open the app, even after you've swiped past then. I found the interface just kinda clunky. But at the end of the day, I can't send or receive message do none of that even matters.

Terrible. Fix your slider ui and stop expecting people to pay just to contact other people of interest or use something that has 0 description (like what the heck is the roomster mailbox). I shouldn't have to set my preferences 3 times before it's set properly. You are a middle man app. Your entire use can be replaced by facebook marketplace, which is entirely free. Extremely predatory on desperate parties. I also can't tell the difference between bots and people as there's protection in place.

I've used this app a few times in the past and had success. now it's complete garbage. non-stop spam messages from bot accounts, profiles and listings are missing information that was obviously included, just letters missing, blanks when it comes to amounts of pay, etc. I would try your luck with a different app, this charges you to read messages by the week, month, or year. just go elsewhere!

Worked well in the past! Now? Not so much. I've used this app to find living arrangements twice and both times paid for a 1 week service. I do think it's pricey in a predatory way. Sure, $15 isn't that much money, but I still think it's a bit much for being able to read a message or two. I've had an okay experience in the past, but this current app version is very unresponsive. I'm interested in using it again, but this week the app is taking quite some time to load and is very unresponsive.

Lots of good rooms, it just isn't letting me cancel the subscription which is required to message anyone/really so anything with the app. It stated two ways to cancel and both weren't there. Contacted support just now, waiting to hear back because it's after business hours. Strong dislike that canceling is so hard with this app and that it is needed in the first place. Found a good roommate on Facebook for less than what most people on here ask too.

Got messages right away about my room available. I paid the fee to be able to see messages. However it's not working. It took my money, but I still can't view messages. Just continues to say "need to upgrade" I got robbed of $8 for nothing. Customer service won't respond either. Definitely don't use this until they fix their problems

Useful app with actively malicious pricing system. Do not start using roomster unless you are prepared to spend a significant amount of money AND handle the hassle of cancelation. Edit: I came back to add a star because when I clicked 'unsubscribe' in an email (which was easy to find) it instantly took me to a page that said 'you have successfully unsubscribed from roomster emails', without making me answer questions or trying to change my mind. Edit edit: but it doesn't actually stop emails.
