I love the app! It's super intuitive and easy to use, but the reason I'm giving it a 4 star, is the next one: Being a rover sitter it would be really nice if I could see ALL notifications on the app, like for example when someone leaves a review, or that a service begins in 30 minutes or so. I know rover sends you an email when you get a review, but it would be easier to see it on the app. Hope you can do something about it! Otherwise it works great!

Many features (like ability to see "favorited" sitters) are missing from the app. Worst of all, searches only show a fraction of available sitters. I conducted identical searches in the app and through the website/browser and the website had 10x the number of results. Edit 5 years later: The app still lacks basic features. And no, I won't call a 1800 number to do basic tasks. Just make an app that works.

This is one of the worst apps I've ever used. The APP UI search is useless at best, the web UI shows much more results that don't even appear on mobile. No easy way to share a profile outside of the app for someone else (my wife to look at in her app). Outside of those issues, the people problem is the worst, people list they are available all day at home and show their calendar as available, Then you send a request and they say they work 8-4. Or they are only free after 1pm. Or they are busy that day. I get they are trying to make it convenient for them by showing a high availability but that defeats the whole purpose of a calendar. Being a new customer and hearing great things about this service, I am completely disappointed.

Update: UNINSTALLED! Can't close out of bookings. Had to reset password and now it won't open at all. This app is horrible for sitters. If you are going to require us to upload at least 1 picture, can you fix the app so that we can? Pics are not uploading. I'm advising clients to turn off the feature until fixed. I can send a pic through text to the client.

The app is fine, except I HATE the new calendar update for the app. Like, it's seriously bad compared to what it used to be. The other one was pretty straightforward, and this one sucks at editing multiple days, takes longer to load the days, and overall doesn't look nice. The only thing I like are the color coded days. Please revert back to the old calendar, keeping color coded days. I hate having to go to the desktop to edit when the app is right there, with a useless calendar.

Until recently, the app worked really well! I could communicate with clients, update my calendar, manage bookings, edit my profile, etc. Now when I open the app it immediately goes to the page to search for a sitter. There seems to be no way for me to manage my own profile, bookings, etc. on the app now, meaning I have to use the website if I want to get anything done. It is frustrating to say the least. Please fix this, Rover!

I left a negative review 2 years ago about how the app was glitchy and deleting messages and not sending notifications. Not only did those problems never get fixed. It has generally steadily gotten worse. Now when I try to upload a photo the app crashes right out. What would normally be a 30 minute drop in turns into an hour or more because I'm stuck trying to complete the drop in with a photo and the app keeps crashing. My clients often complain to me about the same problems

Useless app! The most ridiculous user experience. Where do I find my booking? It's not on my calendar. My calendar shows I'm booked, but the color coding is redundant. Two colors to show you're unavailable. Still can't click on what I'm booked for on that day. Go to messenger in the app, can't click on what was booked. You can go all over the app and not find what you're looking for. The client also has a hard time figuring out the app which leads me to have to go find I, and I cant!

I absolutely LOVE Rover! I have been a certified dog walker through Rover for a little over a year. The app is frequently updated and new features seem to be added regularly. My only 'complaint' is that it's difficult to keep my calendar updated while traveling. I imagine most people have a fixed address so the current system is probably sufficient. I travel between three different cities regularly and find it difficult to show when and where I will be available for 'hire'.

Previous Rover customer, I downloaded the app bc I thought it would be easier to use on my phone than the website but it's NOT. The search function is a mess. I couldn't search by zip (even though the app said I could) and I couldn't sort the search results at all (by price, distance, etc). The distance estimates were extremely inaccurate and most of the results were 10+ miles away. When I search on the site I found many sitters within 5 miles, including the last sitters I used who were great.

I don't usually leave reviews but this one is needed. I HATE this app. It used to be good, but lately I can't do a thing with it. If I bring it up, it refuses to load my dashboard, visits or anything which is a MAJOR problem when I'm trying to start my drop-ins for clients. The only time it seems to work decently is when I'm connected to wi-fi...AT MY OWN HOME. It won't work on cellular networks. What use is that when I need the app at a client's house without wi-fi?!

I've used Rover for years and I love it but lately the app is so glitchy. It'll mess up when I'm walking and not track how far I go, not notify me of messages, not load bookings, it's hard to upload pictures, when I complete a booking it still appears on my Home like I didn't, and hitting start may or may not work on drop ins. Other than that, great app!

Pros: it's easy to find pet sitters, dog walkers, etc. near you, filter by price, see ratings, pay & book through app. Cons: app is very clunky. Currently it's non-intuitive & difficult to change pet info (can't seem to find an option to change emergency contact info?) and sometimes yoi get stuck in a search where you can't easily change your options? Bugs + errors abound.

I wish the written reviews showed how many stars they rated the sitter. The emergency number needs to be more accessible. Especially if it's a real emergency. It shouldn't take 2 buttons and a prompt to access it..some clients dont even know an emergency hotline exists on Rover. Also wish it showed how far clients were before booking; exact miles. There needs to be an additional charge for clients if they are out of the range for sitter. It gives incentive for sitters to accept farther clients.

I am a sitter. I am biased but I have had a great experience with the app. I don't like the cut Rover takes but I am willing to have it for the help in finding sittings and communicating with clients. Main concern I have and want to highlight is the real risk of displaying personal information about the clients on our profile photos. It took me a year to realize that all photos we send to the client also shows up on our Rover profile for anyone to see. I bet many sitters don't know this.

The app gets the job done, but it can be hard to navigate for some clients. The interface with text messaging helps mitigate this struggle. As a sitter, I find the app pretty good. The payment is pretty seamless and I appreciate the statistics they present. I do wish there was an option to select specific times that I'm not available (on specific days and on a reoccurring basis) since this is my most likely reason for refusing requests. An option to make meet and greet a schedulable item also.

These guys are lucky that they're basically the only game in town. The app's unintuitive and buggy interface is well-documented in other reviews. As a pet owner, it works well enough for what it is... But if you encounter any form of trouble, things fall apart. The only solve they offer is contacting customer service, which often has a language barrier and can't offer any support other than helping you find another Rover (which isn't much use if the issue is urgent).

As a sitter, I love this app. Doggie owners can view my profile and reviews and set up a meet & greet before deciding to use my services. The photo & video functions are built into the app also, so I don't have to use up my phone's memory to send up pics to the owners. Another great feature is the support available to sitters if there is any problem; the staff is very responsive and helpful. Overall, it's the best pet sitting app I've used. Highly recommend.

As a sitter, it's only okay at best. 20% is a huge cut for a service most already can't charge a truly fair rate for. There's also no way to upcharge for more complicated cases. My biggest complaint has to be that Rover keeps changing my rates. I've gone in and changed each individual option, yet I'll receive a request for one that's at a rate lower than what I selected, and of course, the owner wants that rate so I honor it and change it again, hoping it will actually stay at the rates I set.

I really do not like how the note function has been changed during the most recent update. I can no longer write separate paragraphs in the field intended for this. Also, the spelling and grammar check function doesn't want to actually work in this field, either. I know not all of your sitters use this function, but I most certainly do. I much rather would've had a timer added to the screen for the bookings in progress and to your progress bar than this UI change.
