A lot of annoying glitches with the app. Videos only work half the time, when you exit a video it goes back up to the top of the article, when a notification comes in it goes back to the home page while your reading.

overall a good app. however I have my font size set slightly higher than the default which causes text in some areas to overlap other text. example is on the summary cards, the headline overlaps the date time of story. a lot of apps have this problem

Literally the worst app I've ever had. Since being updated it is constantly crashing or permanently "loading". Don't understand why a national broadcasting service is put together so badly. It's a shame. It's an embarrassment to the country!

Typical Government funded rubbish from RTE. Constant pop ups of articles that mean nothing to me but take me out of the story I'm reading meaning I've to find the article again and find where I left off. Now up to 15 headings and articles just repeat themselves. Don't expect anything to change soon as I have been reading the same complaints for years. Pictures don't download and never have through numerous phone types and same with video content.

Good news app doesn't update as BBC. Normally, about 30 minutes behind. The big thing I don't like about the app is the video play. It will always stall and end with the audio and video separating. Needs updating.

I like the app, been using it for a few years now but lately, anytime I watch a news video it keeps freezing & I have to continually keep tapping the screen, also a lit of videos won't play on the app, keeps telling me I have to have the YouTube installed, it was already on my phone & it's a new Samsung, very frustration when you want to watch highlight of sport ot other items..

horrible experience the ads make this un-usable it makes you watch the same ad again and again and again if you stop and try to continue again on the same device. The 'X' on the ads that should close the window are positively disingenuous as they bring you to a web site you did not want to visit. only use in dire circumstances if sky TV failed to record for you.

This app frequently pauses. The VOA app is an excellent one. They repair the problem as soon as it is reported. The RTÈ could follow their example. Moreover, foreign viewers want better international news coverage. Your channel needs to compete on equal footing with channels like the BBC, VOA, NHK WORLD (Japan), Arirang (South Korea), France 24, DW, i24 News, etc., if it desires to expand its viewership among foreigners. The same applies to the RTÈ Radio 1 channel.

App will not open. Tried uninstalling & downloaded it again... still no joy. Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Alot of longterm issues with this app... not responding through notifications, freezing & various different glitches & bugs. Tech guys working on this app need to up their game. Poor effort from RTE. Update:09 October 22... app still not working. It will now move past the blue logo screen but try to open a story to read & it just keeps buffering rendering this app totally useless.

Brutal since it has been updated. Trying to select a photo crashes the app. Constantly going back to top of the page if lucky enough to view a photo or video. Sometimes doesn't allow to put a video into landscape mode. Major fixes needed before I use a different more reliable news app.

Great news reporting and in-dept analysis. But the App has has a long term bug. As soon as your screen times out or you switch Apps for any reason, the article you were in the middle of goes back to the beginning. This makes the App very frustrating to use. Can you please fix this.

I would have thought that a organisation that produces video content would be able to make an android app that can play video content. I have a top of the range phone that works without issues with ALL video content but when I play a video on the RTE news App the video pauses while the audio plays as normal. RTE staff should be ashamed that an this app was released to the public without rigorous testing. It shows just how unprofessional RTE staff and management are at doing their job.

the RTE News Now app is a disaster. It displays the news items really badly on my phone with the headline text and other text overlapping so that I can't read either. Google Chrome displays the page perfectly, but if you have RTE News Now installed, Chrome passes control to it so you can't read the page. I've had to uninstall it.

Remains a good app. Interface is nice and fresh with plenty of content. Let's keep it this way as ads completely ruin the experience, especially on sensitive news videos. Keep the ads out. Can the developers tell me why the app tells me I need to have YouTube installed to watch videos when it is installed?? It's been doing this a while now so said I would speak up since nothing changed.

Noting has changed, this NGO propaganda station called RTE once had a superb reputation for quality, and impartial News, Now, the 6 o'clock news broadcast is an absolute disgrace. Just the same old boring topics. They Don't broadcast what is really happening in Ireland RTE, WOKE IS DEAD

The video player does not work. The science and technology section is composed entirely of business articles. The politics section cannot be removed.

Doesn't work on WiFi connection. However, it does on mobile data. Screen times out constantly. If I see one more VHI advert for 20 seconds before it does play a video 🤯🤯🤯 Not updated enough, and the same headlines are often displayed in excess of one week. RTE is so outdated that it's embarrassing. It's only my go-to for a quick browse of headlines and then switch on BBC news. They're a lot more contemporary, current, interesting, and most of all, less robotic 🤖

Generally not a bad app. Only 2 major things I dont like is that there's no search and text cannot be selected. Else the layout, colour schemes, spacing etc. all work well.

I've used this app for years but now it's not a neutral, fact based news organisation anymore. A lot of big developing stories will not be reported by RTE. It's the Irish government's media spin house. The only times that they will report on something that shines a negative light on the government, is when a story is so big that they have no choice.

Good Irish news app but still lacking search and videos play erratically - the video freezes after a few secs but the audio keeps going. Been like this for a while now on several Android devices.... There are also many poorly written articles. Some launch into issues with no background or context. There are often misspelling and typos that any spell checker should have been able to pick up.. There really is NO excuse for any of this at this point and it reflects poorly on the organization...
