Tried this recently for a video chat meeting....what a fantastic app. It's about 95% accurate but that's impressive considering noise distortionw and speech patterns. It also shows the speech in text which is very good. However, it'd be more useful if we can save or send the texts for future reference. This app can be improved for slower speakers by allowing longer pauses. Deleting end of sentence recognition helps. Increasing the limit per input will be great too.

Few things to mention. The mic icon indicates that you have to speak to translate, which is wrong, the text translation should be promptly available without going through extra steps. Also, this app doesn't have the option of reverse translation. If you translate from your language to an other one each time you have to manually change the languages you want to translate from and to. This makes a simple translation and conversation time consuming and hassle. Just a terrible design. Not user friendly. Also, the translation voice keep going on vocalized even after I closed the app. Very bad design. I'm uninstalling and will install a more user friendly app.

The translation is incorrect most of the time. But it's good in the sense that it can listen to long messages and translate. Some correct but some incorrect. Used it to watch a video and could follow even though not 100% It keeps freezing after some time and I had to uninstall and install it a few times for it only works for a short while. But there are no other apps that can listen to long messages like this one. So, en though not good, still better than others.

Absolutely love this app! We have been using Google translate now for 5 months and it is continually a source of frustration. It stops translating very quickly after only a few short sentences. It stops translating if the screen times out.... suffice to say, this app is very user-friendly despite a few little shortcomings that I'm sure they're working on like using. offline etc. I also use Skype extensively and it is a great tool for conversing when you are not together

Pretty good and no ads..this is so far (to my knowledge) the ONLY translation app with the option for a Venezuelan Spanish dialect to English translation and vice versa. However doesn't understand much slang at all I've had to Google certain words like corduroy and a few others that Venezuelan be like, "duh!" Lol. But with all translation apps I find myself comparing this one with Google's version and Microsoft's and sometimes another one to get the general and correct"gist" of what I'm reading

This is a great app. I am able to listen to Arabic courses in the background while "SayHi" translates. The only improvement the app needs is to translate the Arabic language better, more proficiency and correct sentence structure. The app also needs the translate Islamic religious language, grammar and text. When I read the Arabic and the English translation...it's off! Hopefully, you can fix! Thank you.

Does a good job BUT has bugs. Every time I relaunch the app from your "recent" list, it has a bug where you be to select both languages again. After you select them it says you have to restart the app. If you just launch from the beginning by closing the app, you have to select both languages again because it defaults to English and Japanese.

It's a good translator, but I am disappointed it doesn't offer a written translation option. I sometimes have to cut and paste something in a different language than my own, so I don't know how to sound it out. I can't paste it to this app for translation.l, whis is frustrating. I only want one translator app that can work with voice and text

It has proven absolutely essential to communicating with a new friend from Ukraine. I have no way of determining if English to Ukrainian has been translated 100% accurately. Some of the Ukrainian to English had a couple of errors, some amusing, but general idea got across okay. I am amazed at how many different languages there are available to translate, not just a dozen or two! I especially like that it has both written and spoken and choice of speaker's gender. Very easy to use! Thank you!

Used to love this. I used it quite extensively while I was in Colombia visiting family. I even recommended it to them. One of my favorite features was the image translation. It helped me with signs, books, menus, etc. Very user friendly. After the update, there is no image translation option. So I went back to using Google Translate. I actually think I like it better for Image translation. I'll still use SayHi for conversation, hence 3 stars

This app is incredible because it translates back and forth in both languages. It has a significant number of different languages to choose from. My only warning is read what it THINKS you said. As with any program you speak into, this occasionally misunderstands what you say and then the translation makes no sense. Overall an incredible translating app!!

This app is very quick and easy to get some kind of translation. I continually use the edit feature because then I can get the proper words in there because the program can't quite understand my pronunciation of Chinese. It would be better if you could paste into the program right from the start without having to use the edit feature. It would be easier for studying Chinese if it had a feature to tell me what the different pieces of a sentence mean.

When you disable "Detect end of speech" so it does not automatically stop recording; nothing changes. It still stops and it gets worse at detecting anyone is speaking at all. I am trying to translate a recording and whenever the speaker pauses the recording stops. By the time I hit start again I've missed a few words. That is very annoying.

THIS APP IS SO USEFUL. I'm using it to aid in me learning Mandarin Chinese, and it is so much more accurate than google translate. The speaking feature is also fantastic because it helps me know if I'm pronouncing things correctly. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone traveling to a place with a different language, or to someone learning a new language as well.

The vocabulary is better than Google translate. However this app sometimes freezes when you change to another screen. Simple restart fixes that. Also this app requires a Internet connection to translate. Last problem, I'm unable to use the sayHi app when talking on the phone or watching anything. It's pretty picky when it comes to that. It's meant for local use. Otherwise I really think this is my favorite translator right now. I use it next to my PC when vid calling international friends.

I downloaded this app to help communicate with my ELL students and was extremely excited that I could translate to the specific dialect of spanish that they speak. My problem is it it will freeze up or start thinking of a translation and then time out. It never catches what my students are trying to say to me which gets frustrating for the both of us. This app has great potential and hopefully they will fix the problems so people like me can benefit from it.

Amazing app of the future! I have used it several times on my trip to Hong Kong for Cantonese, Mandarin & Korean. Each use of the translation was very accurate in each. The real time quick translation saved me a headache trying to converse through other means. Great, usable and flexible app. Amazed at all the breakdown and details of each language. I'll be giving it a trial run using it back in the US where I work in the court system. Great work!

I've tried several of these apps and this one is HANDS DOWN THE BEST!!! It rarely ever misunderstands what I'm saying. (Voice) The last app I tried would not stay set on Portuguese. Every time that I used it I had to set the language to translate to, Every Single Time! What a nightmare. This one "SayHi" stays where I set it, and has never lost it's settings! And finally, this app is fast! With the others we had to wait 1 to 2 mins for it to translate. The "SayHi" translates instantly!

I enjoy learning languages, but only speaking 3 leaves so many out of my grasp. This app beautifully bridges the gaps I encounter, living in an area with so many languages spoken. I'm not 100% confident in the grammar or accuracy of the translations, but it certainly helps and makes the world around me feel closer and allows for effective communication. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

The articulation and the word selection are really good in regards to articulating my point The primary problem I have is that it freezes up or crashes often. There's times where I need to use it and it won't translate. But in comparison with the other three that I have used Google translate being one of them this one is superior. Having said that the Google translate never freezes up or crashes. This is a big problem for this application unfortunately.
