This app didn't do what I downloaded it for. I want my screen time limited, which I can do through my phone's settings, no app needed. AND I want to block apps when I'm supposed to be sleeping or getting ready for work. With this, you can block other apps completely or after you've used them for a certain amount of time. If I used an app for less than the amount of time I set as my goal it will still allow me to use it at night when I can't sleep. Not helpful. Glad I didn't pay the donation!

App is no longer working for me. Tried resetting permissions, restarting my phone, reinstalling the app, nothing is working. I can't even open it anymore, it immediately crashes. It was inconsistent before, but was at least a 4-star app. I'm really upset at having to uninstall, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it working again.

genuinely very helpful app. i never leave reviews and i try apps like this and its usually got like its own currency and a billion ads and a premium and theyre super unhelpful.. not this one. i tend, to without thinking, in any quiet still moment take out my phone and scroll for hours.. many less so now, with screenzen. it has so many options and its easy to customize it to your habits and prevent them.. or at least reduce them lol. have many more words to say but limit, so just thank you :))

Really helpful!! Nothing else has worked for my end-stage screen addiction. ScreenZen's approach works better for me than going cold turkey or using my phones time limit feature. I like that I'm not completely removed from social platforms, but I like to severely limit how much I'm able to use them. No more doomscrolling and no longer adding more time to my phone's built-in time limit feature (which is way too easy to do, btw)

I like the concept and some of the functions, but it can be very glitchy sometimes. I find that after a few weeks, the restrictions you put in place will just stop working. For example, I'll put a time limit for instagram and the app will completely forget and let me stay on for way too long. I have to delete the app group and then remake it to fix it, but its just annoying to have to do it every few weeks.

This application would receive a five-star rating if it could: 1. Inhibit access to YouTube videos through the Google app. While pausing the YouTube app and website is possible, this does not prevent video playback initiated via the "Videos" tab within the mobile Google app, using the expansion button. 2. Implement selective blocking of the Google app, excluding Google Assistant. This would enable voice reporting through Waze without encountering the pause screen.

Something is VERY VERY wrong. I had this app, and I loved it, but I uninstalled it when I got past my phone addiction. It's uninstalled now, but for some reason, when I open an app that I had ScreenZen applied to, it STILL shows the 5 seconds until unlock screen! I even went into my settings and disabled ScreenZen's permissions, which it shouldn't even have since it's uninstalled, and it STILL does it! My phone addiction is gone, ScreenZen is gone, but it still shows up! PLEASE LEAVE MY PHONE!!

EDIT 2: seems to be working again after the update!! I have restored my original rating. EDIT: This app is basically unusable with the new update 😔 it crashes upon opening. I hope this will be fixed soon. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The delay when opening apps is great. I didn't realize how often I instinctively open social media no reason. Now I find myself doing something else instead like reading books or working on my other hobbies.

Solid application. Free to use and no ads. It helps severely limit how much I doomscroll and, instead, encourages greater productivity when it comes to work and chores. I also like how in-depth the app blocking features are. One small complaint—it doesn't support DuckDuckGo when it comes to blocking certain websites, meaning I have to block the app entirely. It's a bit inconvenient when I need to look up recipes, but not enough for me to rate the app lower than 5 stars. Highly recommended!

ScreenZen is one of the best anti-distraction apps out there!!! I've tested it for over two weeks now and I am amazed by how effective the app is to reduce my screen time! From 7h to around 2h a day of screen time. It prevents me from being sucked into distracting apps and websites I didn't want to consciously check in the first place! Love the countdown timer, the motivating self-reflective text appearing with it, the style, and all the neat customizable options. Thank you so much.

Edited 9/30 - app works again with short form infinite scroll videos. Devs are based, app is perfect. Previous review: This app would be perfect, but it doesn't prevent doom scrolling on my Motorola G Power device. If I open anything that's infinite scroll (reels, shorts, tiktok), the session time limit doesn't work. Strict block does work every time, as does the reminders and session counters.

I really wish you could block certain apps when in certain locations. Ie dont scroll tiktok @ school. Lliterally, everything you want without ads and no monthly subscription bs. This all does what it does and does it very well. It also attempts to keep your options open, letting you choose to keep apps open ,but just wait some time before opening them, limiting them based on time, limiting them based on the number of opens. Etc, etc. Very cool.

Wouldn't let me get past the setup screen. Chose all the settings I wanted. Said I needed to keep granting permissions to show over certain apps. I picked the apps. Wouldn't allow me to go further. Edit: I granted permission to this app, to display over this app. The second I did that, the app opened. I figured that out by reluctantly deciding to go through the list of every single app to allow permission for during setup. I can imagine tons of people giving up in the same scenario.

It's been really helpful for me! Although I'd really love a feature where you can completely block apps during certain times (e.g. you can't open them from 11pm to 8am). I hope this is an app that has plans for future updates with more features (edit: I believe my last statement is actually true, it looks like it's an in progress app. very promising!)

I've used this app for a long time successfully but recently it has become very glitchy. Even with my settings set to unlock an app for 7 minutes, it throws up a block screen every minute or two while I'm using an app and exhausts an entire day worth of unlocks in 5 minutes of browsing. Unfortunately there's no way to submit a bug report without doing a screen recording, something that includes a *lot* of personal information.

I was looking for something free to block websites, and this does it - and with no ads! I haven't seen any limit to how many sites yet. I'm on android and use Chrome. An added plus is that it offers an app timer as well, with custom messaging for the blocks and mindful options for unlock. (Breath, etc). The only thing it's missing is a keyword block for web browsing, but for it being free and not having ads, it's definitely 5 star.

This app has changed how I engage with social media and other addictive content throughout the day. It has taken some adjustment to configure it the way I want it, and sometimes it is frustrating to maintain conversations within apps to which I have limited access, but overall I find it extremely useful.
