The icon for the app looks silly, but its service certainly isn't. I've been very pleased with how many times I've received a call from a random number and "Should I Answer?" indicates that the number has been downvoted by 8-10 people because the number is a telemarketer. (Or something similar.) It's very similar to Waze but for phone calls. I also appreciate the developer's approach to providing a free service and allowing people to choose if they want to donate or not. Great job guys!

The only people I talk to are people in my contacts list. I never give out my number to anyone, so the repeated calls from telemarketers were never answered. Now? 1 short ring and nothing. I love that this app picks up and hangs up on people calling. It's frustrating to them too as I'll sometimes see 3 calls in a row. I check that number and it's SPAM. I love this app! I had the old version which was hit or miss with the pick up hang up method, this version is perfect...so far.

Great app but there are two things missing. You should have a filter option so you can block numbers that begin with or end with a pattern. This helps with the same area code and exchange number scam , where the scammer uses a spoofed caller ID of a number that looks like yours. We should also have a shortcut to the dialer, so I can go straight to the dialer from the app launcher in a single click. Except for those two things, it's damned near perfect. Edit thanks

I have only been able to click on a number a couple of times to view reported info. Most of the time tapping on a number does nothing. The old version never had this problem so I'm going back to that one. Edit 8/14/19 I reinstalled the app almost a month ago to see if my previous issues had been fixed and yes all of my problems were fixed. I have changed my review to 5 stars now. Thank you to the developer for a free app that completely works.

I've been using this app for some time and today is one of those days where it's really proving its worth. In the last hour, I've been called by 10 different numbers, some of which have left garbage voicemail. The best feature, I think, is the ability to block numbers not whitelisted by my contacts. It causes some issues with services such as PagerDuty, who call in with several numbers, but I can live with that. This is a *MUST HAVE* app.

This app has been wonderful! Previously, I was getting at least 10 robocalls every day on my cell phone. Since I installed the app, I get none.I recommend this app highly. It is very easy to temporarily disable it if I am expecting a call from someone who is not in my contacts. At other times, if someone calls who is not in my contacts, but it is a legitimate call, they can leave a message on my voice mail. No robocaller has left any voice mail messages.

I actually prefer the other app. This app popped up as recommended as I have an android and I downloaded it to give it a try. There are a ton of options, but compared to the other Should I Answer app, this one is harder to submit personal ratings and does not have the SMS reason to block. It also takes more searching to find where to go to block numbers unless you do it right after receiving a call. I like the pick and hang up option, which prevents them from leaving VM, but says your # is valid.

Doesn't work anymore. This app used to work great, but now it just keeps asking to update the database, but then once you start the process it just stops responding. A few minutes later it does it again, with the same results. It's more annoying than the actual spam calls (which it mostly doesn't block anymore). It also keeps on giving notifications about numbers that called weeks ago. A total dumpster fire.

I have nothing but good things to say about this app. I have been using this app since the original Should I Answer app that came out before this app did. I had a quark or 2 but with the app but that was not because of the app. I use a MVNO carrier (Project FI) and my biggest gripe was that I get spam calls all the time. Previously the app did a great job blocking the call on my phone, but would do nothing for the hangouts calls on my other devices. With the last update supporting the call rejection, it actually will hang up on all devices using the app so it doesn't ring more than like 1 or 2 sec on my computer before it goes away. Thank you for all your hard work Mister Group and keep up the good work.

Previous version was great. With their "new and improved" version, you are nagged about the database being out of date. You can conveniently remove this by paying $2/mo. They discontinued their previous version (which I paid for) and replaced it with this in order to charge monthly. May be a nice app but they have not been forthcoming about how they do business. I was fine with paying for the app but subscription is a no-go.

Long time user of the prior Should I Answer? (SIA) app. I haven't used the new version that long, but I'm enjoying it thus far. Initially I didn't like the blue call screen it uses, but after realizing you can change it from blue to black and switch it to a system notification (to allow me to switch between SIA and my phone's default call screen), I was content. I also like it's new simplified call reporting process; making comments optional. In a day of rampant spam calls, this app is a Godsend!

I have mixed feelings. I continue to have calls come in that are not identified as spam, and it is hard to believe that I am the first person they call when they spoof a new number. It seems the identification logic stops when we pick up the call. Would be helpful if the app could ID a call faster, as I have to answer calls for work purposes. The most aggravating thing is how this handles incoming calls when I am already on the phone. With the phone's original dialer, I was able to send a short pre-written text message to the 2nd caller, saying I was busy or would call back. With this one, I have to simply hang up on the 2nd call. Merging calls is more problematic as well. "Add Call" doesn't function as I would have expected it to. Sometimes I have to hang up on two calls I initiated to get someone else to get the calls to merge. Lastly, identifying a call as spam takes more keystrokes than I would like to devote to someone spamming me with a robo call. There has to be a better way to put less focused attention on spam calls.

Excellent in concept, not so in execution. It blocks unwanted calls as it should and my spam calls have dwindled to near zero. However, while it allows calls from my contact list to come through, the phone doesn't ring or vibrate, despite the settings i have set on my phone. I messaged the dev and they got back to me right away. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still no go. perhaps someday it'll work.

Good user interface. First thing i did -- with the app's help, was to replace the native, default Phone app with Should I Answer phone app, but the app makes it so easy to switch. The new phone app adds spam-reporting capabilities, otherwise it's the same as the original. Second thing i did-- with app's help, was enter all the Spam calls that were saved in my phone's history. Took a little time doing one-by-one, but the app makes it easy; my contribution to the database of spamming scammers.

It worked fine for a while. Albeit a little clunky and non-intuitive. Then One day incoming calls rang but did not bring up any way to answer them. Quickly launching the app also provided no way to answer the (at times urgent call). Very frustrating. The workaround I discovered was to answer via the notification on my watch -thankfully. Just now I spent 30 min reading instructions and tweaking settings. and testing. The best I could make it do was to get it to "popup in front of system Call Screen". This gives me a way to answer the call, but does not display anything useful. I realize there is a lot of complexity with endless OS versions, phone manufactures, and security settings. I'll come back when I don't need to be an engineer to keep the app working. I would rather talk to scammers and telemarketers than spend my day diagnosing a solution that just isn't ready yet. All I wanted was to block unknown numbers. This excells at that function, and my phone seldom rings from scammers. However, making calls with the app uses it's own dialer, rather than the system one. I've lost the dialer before, and not been able to return to the call to hang up. I'd prefer it runs through the system dialer, but I get it. Solid app if you're overwhelmed by scam calls. Dev comment worked! I'm now really happy with the app!

I'm happy with the app overall. Does what it's supposed to, with very minimal ads. The only thing bugging me is this: when it's set as default call app, somehow all the phone calls go to my Gear watch instead of my phone, and I can't pick up except on the watch. I get nothing on the phone, though it does vibrate, but no call screen. Please look into this.

Download this app, set it up in settings , & never have to worry about getting an unwanted call again. It's the best I've ever tried. It worked like this for 2 years then it shut down, said it turned me Over to a paid subscription. I don't pay for apps. They get payed with ads. I also don't allow anyone to coerce me into paying. Uninstalled.

Worked well for me for a year but suddenly has begun crashing every time it tries to update the database. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times but it keeps happening. Update: the last app update seems to have fixed the crashing. Increasing rating to reflect the experience.

Best app! Glad I downloaded this. It's blocked so many scam callers, without blocking calls I want to receive. The settings are easy to use and easy to adjust to your own special preferences. And no ads or purchase promos. Thanks for that!💙 I just have a question...why does my sychronize date remain the same? After each time I synchronize, it's still showing the date I downloaded the app instead of most recent date of synchronization...? Other than that, it seems to be working properly. 👍👍👍
