I will admit I was a little sceptical at first. I chose it because the neat name and the coolest shroom as a logo. The screen shots of the app looked simply and easy to use. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of the user interface. Just a few key descriptions and itll give a narrowed down very descriptive list to help make a pretty good identification. I left a four * because I still want to take it out and use it. I dont want to make a final decision yet. The first was a great start though!

Really happy with the app, it has a lot of useful info. I do wish it had an option to provide feedback or indicate a missing species. I couldn't find two northern California edible mushrooms listed (by common or scientific name): pigs ears and white jelly mushroom aka toothed jelly fungus. Additionally, the search by name feature is really slow and buggy.

I love this app as a supplement to other guides, but it could definitely use some improvements! Namely: a way to suggest them that isn't in the reviews. It appears we found some Alpine Jelly Cone in the PNW (Duvall area), but I wasn't able to find any kind of entry for the Alpine Jelly Cone - even when I expanded my search. There's a lot of different types of mushrooms so I understand it's unlikely for an app to have ALL of them, but it would be nice to be able to suggest ones to add. 5 Stars because it's worked well even when backpacking/camping, and it is sufficiently informative without being too much information. I've recommended it to my friends and would recommend it to anyone!

It is a disappointment to pay for a more detailed feature that was a waste, as the only difference between the two versions were 2 more photos of limited species. I will note that that a significant number of them aren't listed at all, I know this because I have four books on fungi and when I type in both the English and Latin names they don't show. I tried changing the geography location in hopes that I could come across relatable fungi and to my surprise nothing changed. How do I contact you?

Super impressive piece of software. Only issue is they don't define some of the jargon terms in app, or provide examples of the different factors used for identification. So I have to do a lot of googling every time I use it {I hope you know what "umbilicate" means! Really well built other than that, though. Minor complaint is my phone's nav bar aggressively minimizes when using this app, so it's annoying to try and switch out if it, making googling terms harder still.

I just downloaded this app, so I'm new to it. I'm also new to hunting mushrooms. My only experience is sheephead in the fall and the morel in the spring. I now realize I have several varieties behind the house that I'll be going back for tomorrow. Having the specific region and growing months is a real nice feature. Wish I had downloaded app before I went out. I decided to upgrade to get more pictures. The small fee was well worth it.

Fantastic!! Initially, I was very skeptical and didn't expect much from this app. I downloaded it an forgot I had it, but I recently started using some of its features and all I can say is wow. The app can look at the date on your phone, and help you determine if the mushroom you just saw in the woods is a certain species by telling you if it is found during whichever month your phone says it is. Brilliant!!! This app is a must for future mycologists, or those who are curious about mushrooms.

I've used Shroomify for several years and I really love it. There are missing species and a few descriptions only have one photo(even if you pay), but overall it's one of my favorite tools. I make mushroom art for a living and this app has been so valuable. Well worth paying for the full version, though the changes are minimal, to support this amazing app. Super easy to use. Give it a try!

I love the app! Simple to use, and has a good amount of information on species. My feature requests would be the ability to save specific species to a list, a little shroom Pokedex if you will. And as others have mentioned a look-alike link would be good, but depends on the dataset I guess. Either of those would add plenty of value to the pro version for me.

This app is great! It shows things like appearance, size, shape, taste, and toxicity of mushrooms, and you can even change your location settings for more selective results! It also has a large list of shroom attributes like cap shape, color, spore prints, and more! However, there is one small problem. A select few mushroom species aren't included in the app for my location (east U.S.) such as P. Subalteatus (which is psychoactive, thankfully I didn't try to eat it). All in all really useful.

Incredible app, very easy to identify mushrooms and I've found some really good ones already in the Allegheny Mountains! Instantly bought Premium as soon as I started using it, figured even if it didn't give many features it was worth a tip. Previously I spent a lot of time on Google and that's quite difficult because the mountains where I go for my nature fix rarely have cell service, and when they do, it's very bad, too difficult to see photos, only text. This app appears to work offline!

What a lovely app! I almost skipped downloading it because the title says it is for USA. I was very pleasantly surprised to find it had a dataset for northern Europe! Nice looking app, well-chosen photos. Easy to navigate to what you want, also easy to explore and browse. Even the foraging tips held some helpful reminders for me. (Bring a mirror, for example.) I couldn't believe this wonderful content was free. I would happily pay to support more updates. Thank you very much to the developer!

Decent app but most of the entries lack more details and pictures that would be helpful in identifying different mushrooms. Some entries have just one or two pictures and that's it. It would be nice if each entry had multiple pictures/examples of the unique characteristics of that mushroom. Additionally, the "month's common fungi" seems to have a limited number of entries shown regardless of what is actually common that month, which means potentially misidentifying or missing certain mushrooms

Love this app. It has really improved my hunting experience. It is extremely detailed and informative. One possible functionality that could improve the identification feature is the ability to select one or MORE options when narrowing down your selection. Sometimes the shape/color/size is not always easily distinguishable and this would create slightly broader search results. Keep up the great work!!!

This app is great if you want to get into identifying mushrooms. Personally I wouldn't rely on it completely since you only get one picture per mushroom (for free that is), but its wonderful to help you get a general idea of what the mushroom could be. If you pay $4 you get access to more than one picture of each mushroom, besides that there's no ads or anything. If the extra pictures included closeups of underneath the mushrooms, the stem, and even the spore print I would happily pay $4 or more

Doesn't let you view all the pictures with premium while offline. That makes it far less useful for identifying mushrooms in the wild out in the forest where there's no cell service or wifi. Otherwise a great app. No button to respond to the dev I guess. But what I mean is I bought premium and when I go to view the second image of a mushroom offline it tells me I must buy premium to do so. It works fine online.

One of the best ID apps out there. I like that it lets you choose as many different features as you can find on your specimen, or skip those you can't determine. It gives you suggestions based on your location and time of year so you don't have to sort through unrealistic ID possibilities. Also a bonus is the reasonable one-time fee for the premium version. I'm grateful that some developers haven't succumbed to the subscription model.

It's an overall impressive and user-friendly app which has some very useful features. In a majority of cases (I'd say 60-70%) I'm able to find matching species, or at least something in a similar enough Genus/Family that I can research via other sources. This app is often great as a jumping-off point and can make learning fungus identification easier and more interesting to beginners, but it falls kinda flat as a field guide. The concept/UI/design are fantastic though.

Needs a 'back' button. I like the small illustrations on the different filter choices. However, as a newbie I don't have an eye for it and many characteristics, like color, seem to fit somewhere between 2 or 3 of the possible options. Therefore, I'd often like to go back and change my filter, but cannot, and have to start over which gets annoying.

Out of all the fungus ID apps I use this one most often and find it very easy to use and reliable. There is definitely run for improvement, but good job overall. My suggestion would be to add a couple new region databases like one for New England area and another for the Midwest and add more species to help determine the ID. That would be a great start to 5 stars and then you can work on making it look prettier. 👍
