Saud ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad Al-Shuraim (Arabic: سعود بن ابراهيم بن محمد الشريم; born 19 January 1966 is a Quranic reciter who was one of the prayer leaders and Friday preachers at the Grand Mosque Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. He also holds a Ph.D degree in Sharia (Islamic studies) at the Umm al-Qura University in Mecca. Shuraim was recently appointed as dean and "Specialist Professor in Fiqh" at the University.
Shuraim used to lead the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan in Mecca since 1991. He also led the funeral prayer for Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz on 17 June 2012 after Maghrib (sunset) prayer in Masjid Al Haram. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and the royal families were present at this funeral.
In 1991, sheikh shuraim was made a prayer leader and Friday preacher at the Grand Mosque by the order of King Fahd. A year after that, he was appointed judge in the High court of Makkah. Further to this, he was approved and made to teach in the Holy Masjid al-Haram. He has been serving as a professor at the Umm al-Qura University in Makkah since 1995, and has been named the dean of the faculty of "Shari'ah and Islamic Studies". In June 2010, shuraim was promoted from the rank of professor to the specialist professor in fiqh by the president of the university Bakri bin Mat'ooq. Saud al-shuraim is currently retired.
Shuraim's family is from the Haraqees of the Banu Zayd tribe of Saudi Arabia.
In an interview with the Al Watan newspaper, when asked about his wife's role in his success, Shuraim stated: Before I say something about my wife, I can't forget my mother's love and mercy for me in my childhood and youth as well; As she raised me in orphanage in childhood... her love is a tonic for me. May Allah shower His mercy upon her as she did with me when I was a child.
And as for my wife, she has proven herself to be the best companion for me in happiness and sorrow, she is there when I need her, cheers me up, and tries her best to lighten my sorrows. May Allah include this in her good deeds.
In December 2022, Shuraim stepped down as Imam of Masjid al-Haram. He bid farewell to his position through a self written poem.

This is my go-to app for quranic recitation. I love Shuraim's recitation so much. And I get to listen to my Qur'an even when offline. I so much love this app, alhamdulillah. God bless the developers of this app

Really I am using this application 2010,easy, readable, accessible and smooth flowing voice of sheikh, no compliant no hardship noted by using it by my self since last 10 years.... At some places, it doesn't forward it stops i don't like it but the app is good liked it but the voice doesn't matches the one in my other phone this one is somehow deeper it has base too much

My child doing hifz and he only like to listen to the sheikh Shuraim but the problem is he can't see the quranic hex so he get paranoid and he get very upset. Is there possibility for you to add text is well. I've been searching but couldnt find anything related.

Illa Masha Allahu. The developer has done a lot of research. I Have been thinking of something with such nature since when I was in high school... When I am given Shuraim kira'a MP3 Ddevice. Developer should add more languages such as Kanuri, Hausa, Fulfulde, Babur bra, Yuruba, Igbo, etc all these languages are widely spoken in Nigeria and otjt African Countries. It would also assist our people to constantly update themselves, and clears any single portion of doubts in a given time... Thanks

Please can you do it in such a way that if a call comes and you pick it should continue playing where it stopped. But unless you go back to the application before you can play it again which is very worrying thank you

Masha Allah, good job on this app. I have been using this app for more than 3 years now. I suggest you change the Qur'an text for better understanding. The text is a bit hard to understand especially for beginners.

Manshaalahh. Best app so far. Thank you for this. It has mp3 downloads. Quran reading and listening. The only sing problem is that it does not let you continue where you left off If you leave the app.
