I definitely feel like I'm reducing food waste and saving money by not eating out, but the app does need improvement: - I'd love to have a photo history but it asks for a rating (which I do after eating) and then only allows to TAKE one instead of adding from your gallery - I wish you could add other items to the shopping list (I gotta eat lunch too!) - the dimensions should be included for tray-bakes instead of just saying "tray" - I wish you could add a family member to access the account too

The app is one of my all time favorites. I've been cooking at home for years, but this still helps in those weeks i wanna just eat and not think about it. And the meals themselves are delicious. And you learn new dishes and skills! Minor negative, the times on some of the things, like how long something needs to simmer or roast, seem off sometimes. Also there's a bit to much curry powder

I'm using it as the free trial, but I'm noticing that I can't change the meal portions? I have four people in my family, so having to remember to double everything in my shopping list is a hassle, and I haven't found an easy way to change it. Other than that, what a neat idea! If there's a way to toggle portion amounts and adjust the shopping list, I'd pay for it after the trial for sure!

Originally I signed up for Sidekick thinking that I wouldn't use it very much, but I was happy to support SortedFood. Only 1 year later, I find myself relying on it nearly every week. I've always enjoyed cooking but often wasn't very efficient in the kitchen. For meals I would usually take at least 1 hour to cook not to mention clean. The Sidekick app has really helped me learn how to whip up meals efficiently and easily. Thanks! 😁

(I am a subscriber in the US.) If you're in the UK, I'd give the app 5 stars. Full stop, it's great. But there are some issues from this side of the Atlantic. Though they offer measurements in both metric and imperial, the instructions are only in metric, so imperial is pointless. The ingredients list does not account for US packaging sizes, so "no food waste" is MUCH harder because it's just not designed for the US market. The meals themselves are delicious, but it needs a real US version.

I've been having a hard time deciding what to make for dinner recently, there was just too much planning involved in choosing meals in a way that didn't leave a lot of leftover items in the fridge. This app feels like it was made for me lol. I now look forward to making dinner cause i know exactly what I'm going to make! Also its always delicious and takes exactly the amount of time it says it will to prepare which is a nice surprise too. Thanks for this app, it's a lifesaver!

Good food packs, but the app itself is terrible. The packs apply to the day before when in the plan menu, often times it's missing meals, ie you should have a total of 6 or so but I have had anywhere from 3 to 5. And now it's harder to keep track of which packs you selected, because it goes from, select two weekly to select which meal for which day.

I love the app, but it is kind of made without bad American stores in mind. I love the concept, The reduced waste, the audio guides, but walmart doesn't stock chestnut mushrooms. I've never even seen or heard of that before. I've shoped Kroger, costco, walmart, and sometimes whole foods, and a lot of these ingredients can't be found. Some things have easy substitutions, but will protabellos ruin my dish. No idea, I'll find out later. And yeah Amazon has everything but it's supposed to be simpler

I love the idea of this app. For me the best thing this app does is create a perfect shopping list. I don't like that I'm limited to 5 meals a week, I would love to be using the app to plan a full week of meals. You can look up and use the guide on any recipe, but you can't add it to the planner for the shopping list function. I also have a lot of issues with removing or changing the meals I've picked for the week. If I remove something, I can't seem to add it back. It just shows as a blank.

I love the idea of the app. When the app opens up and loads the recipes, it is easy to use, helps keep my grocery shopping organized and I get to cook cool new recipes. I have continuously had issues opening the app and getting it to load. I have a Samsung phone, so I don't know if it related to that and it works better on iPhones.

Recipes are clear and easy to follow, with plenty of variety. I love how many vegetables are included, sometimes hidden in plain sight. My kids have loved the dishes, with the only changes being cutting any spicy elements. And, as advertised, the meal packs have greatly simplified my shopping and cut down on food waste without any meal feeling like "leftovers" from the previous. My one complaint is that oven temperatures are not converted when you change your settings from Metric to Imperial.

Great tool overall for trying new recipes, limiting food waste, and improving confidence with cooking. The portion sizes are often a bit off. Sometimes we end up with tons of leftovers and other times we just have enough for one meal. They are constantly adding new recipes, so I'm hoping to see them eventually work with a dietician to get some better-balanced meals available. The meat-focused recipes are often missing veggies, and the vegetarian recipes are usually too low in protein.

I really love this app. The Sorted team has done a wonderful job of creating recipe packs that use up all the ingredients you buy. I love their commitment to reducing food waste and home cooking with fresh ingredients. The only very rare problems I have are sometimes with sourcing ingredients (to he fair I live on the other side of an ocean from them) and the occasional timings (I have this issue with recipes from anywhere, honestly). 10/10 would recommend. :)

I love this app. I've tried various cooking apps and keep coming back to this one. Combined with my inventory list and shopping spreadsheet I've found this app saves me the most money due to its focus on waste reduction. Only complaint: the lack of desserts. It'd be great if the added recommended cookware for recipes and meal packs. Regardless, this is still my favorite cooking & meal planning app.

During the first few years, when it was Meal Packs, I really enjoyed the app and found it useful. Overtime, the recipes have gotten more complicated and require more equipment and ingredients than what I am able to afford or find in my area. I'm in the rural Midwest USA. The conversions have been difficult and lately I have too many leftovers and the food is claggy and heavy. Not every dish needs a sauce or a starch and could do with fresher/lighter options. I love Sorted though.

I love how accessible the app is, and the amount of love and time the team puts in it really shows. I'd give it five stars, but I've found one issue that has been bothering me for a couple weeks. I have to prep meals ahead of time given my third shift schedule, and a lot of the meals and foods I've tried don't reheat properly. Don't get me wrong, I have found some that worked well! I just wish there were more, or a way to search for meal-prep friendly meals if I've missed them.

I wish they would put weights for every ingredient. One sausage in the US is not the same as 1 sausage in the UK. Also, why am I buying sausage in casings when I'm just going to take it out? I can buy ground sausage without the casing, and it's usually cheaper. The stove settings also need to go away, because I'm not at the same altitude, nor is the "medium" setting the same on my stove as yours. Please just tell me to simmer, sear, boil, etc. This app has potential if they change these things.

Love this app! I am about as untalented of a home chef as it's possible to be, but this has got me cooking things I never thought I'd even try to cook. I would love to see the ability to view your favorite recipes, or order recipes by community ranking, etc. Things like that. The app can be a bit challenging to navigate at times if you want to get to a specific page, but I'm new to it and might just have not quite figured it out yet. Overall though, absolutely loving it! The feijoada is 🤌🏻🤌🏻

I have been using the app for about a month now, and we have enjoyed every single meal. It has forced us to try new things and we have been very happy so far. 4 stars only because the guided recipe has you cutting and preparing ingredients while cooking. I would have expected that step number 1 would be proper prep. I always have to read the text recipe ahead of starting so I can prep all the ingredients. I am still keeping the app and making more of the recipes each week.

Been using for about a month and a half now, and I'm very happy with it. There is a bit of everything for everyone here. I tend to use way more time than the recipe says, but I'm pretty sure that is due to inexperience and will get faster with time. I love that it creates the shopping list for you categorized by type. My only issue is that as soon as you click done, it asks to rate the meal before I even take a bite. I wish you could change the category order in the list as store layouts differ.
