It's fun. guess or know which of the 2 objects is the correct answer to the question, while She's sighing the name of each object to choose from. Small quizzes throughout the lesson. Easy learning. Needs to have a reverse option for those of us with Jimmy fingers. I'll probably keep my subscription, However, it's early in the game. I'll re-evaluate when my free subscription is up. Rich-

I really like this app. Lots of content. Not perfect, sometimes the video loops in a way that makes it confusing for what is the beginning or end of a sign and sometimes you can tell they did several while recording and you catch part of another sign. But overall I like it a lot and I've learned a lot. I do wish there were some increased difficulties or ways to test multiple sections at once. I don't want the images above a sign when I'm picking an answer

The app has some good features. As an example, the search function is *really* nice. However there are a few glaring issues. One of them is that the clips used to teach you signs are sometimes poorly edited, making the sign confusing or completely unreadable. The other being that some signs are simply incorrect or are missing parts. If you're a beginner, this is a decent app. The first few hours of lessons can get you started. However the issues need fixed before I can offer a higher rating.

The searching system is more than amazing. Unlike any other ASL app I've used and uninstalled. Almost everything is great. I just have a few problems with this app. 1. Some of the clips showed with people signing do not match some other common signs I know. I thought there was only one ASL. 2. Another issue with the clips is how small parts of other signs make it into some clips, making them quite confusing. Plus, the clips can be pretty shaky at times. If this is seen, please consider my post.

This app has a lot of potential. I think the developers should look towards other language learning apps for inspiration. My biggest suggestions would be to incorporate more full sentences into the lessons; have a pt. 1 for learning the terminology and a pt. 2 for forming sentences with them. I'd also recommend improving on the "flashcards" section. A way to practice learned terms is an excellent idea, but it could go more in depth (such as sentences) and be much more difficult. Great app so far

My spouse showed me this app and I'm so excited to use it!!! I have a few issues, though. When typing an answer, the on-screen keyboard covers things up so I don't see what I'm typing, and answers are submitted automatically. Sometimes I make a typo and it's marked as incorrect. I'd love the opportunity to see and correct mistakes before actively submitting them. Also, there doesn't seem to be an option for turning down or off the volume (I don't like the sounds) besides my phone's media volume.

Effective in teaching ASL: Yes. Could the app be improved?: YES! The graphics look like they're from 2005 and the videos often cut off or blur when they shouldn't. The entire UI is outdated. With just a little sprucing up you could have a solid 5 star app. The other problem for me is the price and payment options. The "free" daily lessons were very short and no longer work anyway so I had to purchase a subscription. The only option was $59.99 for one year. Why not a monthly plan?

If only the flashcards had a mixed option where you could practice several genres at once, & that you either had to choose between 3 answers or write it in, instead of "Do you know this sign?" W/ yes or no. It defeats the purpose of them. It's also annoying when you don't want/can't pay for a membership & you have to wait every 24 hours for 1 very short, less than 5 min lesson that is completely randomized in which case sometimes you have to guess at signs that you may not have learned yet.

I love this app. it's taught me words I didn't know. the daily lessons are easy to understand. I have issues in the editing of the videos, as sometimes they run into each other so it's hard to tell where the sign starts or ends. I just look it up elsewhere if I'm not getting the information I need here. I'd like more combined sentences...ex: see you later- you don't sign each word separately but it's just a simple hand movement to include all words together

This is a Wondeful idea!! Although, if you're a beginner with ASL it would be very difficult, a lesson on the alphabet instead of just the tab would be very beneficial. And sometimes on the pick the words questions the words would fall (?) Behind the submit button so you weren't able to read them or choose them. There were a couple times when the gif of the interpreters was hard to read. There was one spelling error that I caught on You're welcome it was your. Keep up the good work!!

The lessons are fairly easy so far. just started today. A big issue is the images don't load alot and have to edit to main menu several times to have them load. The persons facial expression also aren't consistent. One question asked to translate, the person made a face that looked displeased which though made the sign for "good". Was very confusing. So far as a free run so far it's OK. opinion may change later.

I purchased the year subscription. The data is stored locally on your phone, so when I got a new phone, all 30+ lessons I had completed were not transferable. Then, after spending a month of redoing those lessons and then competing new ones, I just had to factory reset my phone, and after uploading all of my data to the cloud, the lessons were not included. I'm not going to start all over again for a third time. Other language apps store your progress so you never lose your progress.

I was only able to use the app for a short time before it prompted me to pay 59.99 a year for a subscription. Though the lessons are good, the finger signing with the camera can be way too sensitive and fast. When I was trying to do the basic words, for example, my movements of resetting from the last one seemed to register as sign for the next two and I couldn't even see what I was supposed to sign. The videos, while helpful, are quite clunky at times, and need improved as well.

Some of the people sign too quickly, and it's difficult to see the hand shape or the movement. Slower movements, and different angles could greatly help. Also, the quizzes regularly sign questions/sentences for words that I haven't been taught yet, that's pretty frustrating. Otherwise a great app. Visually appealing, easy to navigate, no disruptive ads.

I think this is a good program, semi deaf using it to prepare for not being able to hear, 45 yo the military didn't think hearing protection was very important, like today. this program is very easy to learn its almost like going back to 1st grade level which makes retaining what you learn using the visual ques aiding in remembering, hopefully I don't end up getting dementia from all the TBI's because this would end up being a waste of time if I forgot all I'm Learning. I feel like it goes a bit too fast for the lessons that use the camera. Sometimes it picks up a movement as me doing the sign and marks it complete before i even attempted the sign. The videos do a great job of showing the correct way but actual practice is limited by the speed of it.

Love this app. I juggle a lot both personally & professionally, so I really appreciate that lessons are small and manageable. I like the quick reviews and the ability to put sentences into the dictionary function. I highly recommend this app for all, but especially those that are worried they won't have time to learn a lesson & review past material.

It has nice visuals to follow, but it limits you to one lesson per day and they're pretty short lessons with 5 or so new words each day. You don't get to pick your lesson, it randomly chooses one; so it sucks if it gives you a lesson you've already done twice before. It also has some descriptions paired with the wrong words so it makes it really confusing at times. You can review lessons you've already completed at anytime and you can search for words, but there's only one version of each word.

This is a great way to learn a handful of words at a time. Its easy to pause & pick up where you left off. Unfortunately, the review questions and flashcards come in the same order, so if you simply remember the order of new words you just repeat 2xs and your done. It also overuses orange & apple as options in the part where you choose what word is being signed. Which makes it obvious what the correct word is. It just seems like they used the same algorithm for every single problem.

This app is really fun! It's a little bit gamified, but still very low stress. You can drop in and out; I plan to work on this whenever I have a few minutes. They show you two side by side examples of someone doing a sign and you guess which one is the one specified. So you kind of learn 2 signs at a time. There is a satisfying ting! when you get the answer right, and points awarded for each correct answer. After 3 signs there is a brief quiz.
