My already existing offline contacts show that they are saved on my Google account. They are not visible in the system default app after adjusting filters to hide anything from Google accounts, so I know they are offline. Manually changing to phone storage gives an error message, even after giving permission to phone storage in system settings (it never asks for this permission). Adding new contacts to phone storage does work.

This app has a very large drawback - it only lists SOME contacts not all. I think the contacts not being shown are those without a mobile phone number (only a landline no) but can't be sure that's the explanation (I've tried every combination of filters in the settings, no help). Whatever, a contacts app which won't let you show all your contacts is no use. Weirdly the Simple Dialer app linked to this app shows all contacts but shows contacts twice if they have two phone numbers.

The entire Simple apps range is the nearest thing to the elegant and simple tools in the Palm OS (now destroyed by the 'suits', but still 'alive' as webOS in some TVs). The Palm ethos was to be able to perform any task inside four taps, & it could mostly. This great (anything but) Simple team, have, as closely as the relatively clumsy Android OS permits, come very close to that old ease. Their pricing model is remarkable. I bought them all untested. Great coding. Functional tools. Recommended.

Understand one thing clearly. You cannot by any means delete numbers which are stored on your sim. Don't waste time by downloading various apps. "Error saving contact" occurs when you are trying to delete number on Google contact app which is saved on your sim. You can easily delete numbers stored on your email id (Google account) or telegram account, but not on your sim. So if you don't want to face such a problem, never save numbers directly in the sim.

Most Apps are not able to properly manage multiple contact accounts. But Simple Contacts can do it!

You can fill out optional fields like company, job position etc, but they don't show up anywhere else. So how am I supposed to tell, for example, John Smith the plumber from John Smith the coworker when they call me? Also, there's no "merge contacts" functionality. Also, contact edit screen doesn't prompt to save the changes if you made them when you navigate back, just silently discards all changes. Also, phone numbers are shown in alphabetical order of their labels, not as you added them.

Works like a charm. One caveat I hit: do not turn on the "show confirmation before making a call" before the app has had a chance to ask for phone permissions. It won't ask if that dialog is open and you might think (like me) that the dialer app was broken. Really quick response time here in the comments though which made me figure that out. Please fix the notification bug too. I almost just uninstalled it all instead of reviewing and getting it fixed.

I searched and downloaded, a few, messaging apps to try out. To me, this one is the farmost, best of all, for sure.

I like its clean UI and an option to be asked for confirmation before dialing. But there are two issues need to be fixed. First, after I browsed for new contact picture it asked for an app to crop the picture then it failed. I have to use "open with" to change contact picture instead. Another issue I found was in call history. The caller numbers were shown instead of their names.

When I first installed this app I didn't like it, but after a year of using it, I like it better than any other contact app I've tried. Its still not intuitive and still needs a help button. It took me a year to find the space character and parentheses when editing. It still doesn't identify itself as Simple Contacts . And I hope the developer reads this and finds out that the message he put on the Pro version about vcf files is not understandable and comes up every time I want to use the app.

The main thing I need that the default contacts app doesn't provide is the ability to add contacts to my CardDav server (via OpenSync). This app delivers. It does everything I need it to do and nothing that I don't want it to do. The ability to change colours (in app and for the icon) is a nifty bonus that I wasn't expecting. By the time I found it, it was very clear that it's a free trial. I didn't feel tricked at all. The pro version isn't expensive and I'll certainly be upgrading.

The application helped me to solve my problem. My problem was to connect with the infotainment of my car with Bluetooth. It could not connect properly because the number of my contacts is over 1000. Solution: I kept only 250 contacts in the phones application. The most important ones. All the contacts exist in Simple Contact application.

extremly satisfied! it searches for any piece of text no matter where it is, in the middle of the word, or at the end. And also for any piece of number you might remember. very customizable, but not to the point of becoming an spaghety accident. I totaly recomend! 5+

It does what it should. I had problem with contacts, some were on SIM card, couldn't erase or modify some of them. With this program I managed to sort everything easy. Tried many others no luck. Sad thing is, I have old smartphone where I can manage contacts easy, with new one I have tried 5 other programs and spent quite some time to find what's wrong... Eh, progress a?

Review is only for my memory, for later. Simple is good but this is too simple for my needs. Shows contacts from all Google accounts but does not show which account, and does not seem to have an option to select from which accounts to show contacts. also, color does not seem to be changeable, perpetually 1970s Halloween orange. Feels dated, limited.

DO NOT use this app! - you will lose all your contacts after 14 days unless you upgrade to the paid version. It WAS free, I've had it for a year with no problems, but they recently changed their terms, including for all current users who already have all their contact info stored and rely on it, they literally hold your data for ransome. They just did the same thing to their photo gallery app and I lost all my photos unless i pay for a new app to get them back again. Bait-and-switch RANSOMWARE!

The main reason I downloaded this is because in the screenshot it shows the bar on the side where you can quickly jump to a letter in your contacts list. The default app removing this feature is why I was looking to install something else. But just like the built in app, and contrary to what the screenshot shows for this app, it doesn't have that. At least not on my phone.

So far I'll give it 4 stars (just installed, may change after I give it some time). It has the one most essential feature any contacts app should have, but the default Google contacts app installed on my phone is missing: the ability to hide contacts without phone numbers. It's a basic feature, sure, but one Google failed to implement in theirs and completely dropped the ball on. This app has it, so I'm happy now. First time I've had to bother with getting a 3rd party contacts app though.
