Not a bad App, but it requires a functioning text search facility. The search facility is only available to search in individual notes, and even that doesn't work properly! It needs a working search facility which can search in all notes at once. This is a glaring omission. Also, the developer email addresses are invalid and not functioning.

Update 3/6/23 The app just keeps gettin better! 11/31/22 Still an amazing app for what it does! Great app and the pro version allows for a scrollable widget. Well worth the cost! Things I'd LOVE to see added: (would be rad) - Customizable option for widget that enables a border (and unique color) to be selected. - Text formatting (bold, italics underline) - Ability to insert images and them be viewed (and scroll) in widget! Either way this is a GREAT app. Found it recommended from XDA!

Upgraded but all note content in free version deleted. @Simple Mobile Tools - don't reply that you can just export your old notes. All the content of those was deleted after 14 day forced hijacking expired so all your left with is titles of notes. Go fix that issue, Tools. But as you replied to another user back in February there was a glitch in the update that deleted the content of notes. Next time you try a 'cash grab' be sure it's ready.

Jan 19, 2022 I exported all my notes to files. It seems I must import them one at a time. I have nearly 20 notes, so it's very annoying to restore all. I hope after I get through all that, that it no longer crashes. You should add an option to select multiple files at a time for input (import) into lists. Assume file name is the list name, and files' formats determines type of notes to create.

Terrible! I had the trial notes. All of a sudden my notes were ransomed for a forced upgrade without any warning. My old notes can not be accessed. I tried exporting to the notes pro without success. GOOGLE has created a monopoly...ugh so wrong! Their response to my review was to export my notes. I did that and I still can not access them.

I love all your apps, but I'm pretty upset. In trying to import plaintext files that I had exported, I selected a folder that contained the .txt files and some other files, it crashed on import AND DELETED THE .txt file, then subsequently crashed every time I opened the app, only fixing itself with a data wipe, which of course deleted the notes... I'm rating 5 stars because I really like your apps, but this needs to get fixed. If it's a problem with other files in the folder, just have the scan search for only .txt files, or issue a warning to NOT have other files in the folder or something.

This app worked wonderfully for a time, but now when I unlock notes, the notes appear as empty. I am absolutely using the correct code. Edit: I tried reinstalling at the developer's behest. Notes are still empty. I'm disgusted with the sheer incompetency of the developers. What use is a notepad if it decides to start deleting years of notes for no reason? Take your time and money elsewhere. This app can not be trusted to keep your notes.

Pretty good. Simple notes app. Easy to have multiple lists/notes going and switching between them. Only con is it really needs an undo action, because I would have accidentally selected something to move it up or down the list but it selects more than intended and gets deleted instead. Its frustrating since some of my list are throughout the week so I forget what's always there.

I love all the Simple apps and have paid for pro version of most of them, but this one is my least favorite as far as UI/UX goes. There needs to be a list-view of all notes/lists in the app by name, right now there's only an ugly overview that shows all notes as panels with a bunch of preview text, very cumbersome and somewhat useless for seeing all notes at once. A folder heirarchy for organizing would be even better.

I recommend ANYone looking for a note app look elsewhere. Had the free version of the app, had very important information in notes, it was working fine, then the widget stopped working because it's pro only, opened app and my notes were gone and it was telling me it doesn't have permission to access my files in a pop-up, (IDC if it doesn't need permission, that is what the pop-up says) Upgraded to pro to try and rescue my notes, still can't access the old widget, old notes are still gone.

Exactly as it says, simple notes that can be opened up within the app or used as a simple and fast note taking widget. No ads, no annoyances, simple customization to make it work with any background or launcher and very easy to use. Had used the free version for the past 2-3 years, enjoyed it enough to want to support the developer(s) further.

Without the pro version, all was great. It took me about 45 minutes to copy all my titles and notes. Everything was finally set up. Then I wanted to change the background color but I could only do that with the PRO version. So I bought the PRO version. But guess what??!! All my notes were gone, after all that work transferring! Very frustrating and even angering!

I got this in an attempt to replace Samsung Notes, which isn't an option on my new device. I love the lack of permissions. I wish that sorting the notes into files/categories. (Journal, lists, important info, recipes etc.) I also wish it could open PDFs. Text formatting would be nice too. I'm nervous about the fact that there are multiple mentions of notes disappearing and I'd hate if that were to happen. I may keep looking for one that has the features I'm after, but will use this for now.

03-12-24 Update: Still not fixed. The cursor keeps jumping to the bottom of my note list in Pro Version of Simple Notes. (It does not do it if the note list is small, only when the note list is long.) Please fix. It makes it difficult when adding or updating an item on my list. Cursor stays where you were typing, but the page itself jumps to the bottom text.

I recommend this app for simple text notes. I keep a variety of notes on my phone, the primary ones being my grocery list and my lists of books (fiction and non-fiction) to check out at the library. I was using S Notes, but it was frustrating to use. Today I got so fed up that I went looking for a replacement, installed several, and tried them. Simple Notes Pro was the (very nearly) perfect one for me. It does what I need without my having to wade through a bunch of features I'll likely never use. The one request I have (right now) for a future version would be the ability to rearrange items on a checklist. I make my grocery list as I go through my week, and I like it to be in the order in which I travel through the store. The checklist feature of this app would be great for my grocery list, but as far as I can tell, there seems not to be a way to rearrange the items on the list.

VERY disappointed to find that all my lists are blank!! It's like all the text was deleted from each entry. I see the developer responded that this was due to a bug in an update that has since been fixed but that the data isn't recoverable. Beyond losing my lists, I'm worried that this speaks to a lack of quality control in their release process and don't think I can trust it going forward. Would be one star except that this is one of the few note apps without unnecessary permissions.

Not fond of the latest updates with the panel view. It would be fine... If it didn't keep trying to crash the app whenever you hit the folder button; even when I successfully close the view, it keeps throwing the "app not responding" dialogue every 5 seconds, and keeps doing so, even when I shut down and reopen the app. This app has been rendered almost unusable. I'm considering abandoning this app. Incredibly frustrating.

Dropped the ball with this one. I've been using your apps (all pro plus bought the thank you and whatnot) and I typically love them. But sadly this one has some severe issues with load times and constant crashing. I'd love to see this app get some quality of life improvements. Keep up the good work on the rest though! Edit: it crashes frequently on export and freezes with larger text documents.

6.26.23 Really do not like the Pro compared to the old ones, except for export, not better. 12.28 Still glitchy while typing. Cursor jumps around while typing. Keyboard issues. --- This app is straightforward and easy to use. I like that it has a word count. I find the line spacing a bit too tight and it is not adjustable. I gladly PAID the very low price for the Pro version.

Upgrade on Aug. 16, 2023 removed the list of files and replaced with file names including contents. Have to scan to find folder because no search tool is provided at startup. Time consuming and unprofessional. Prefered the original and would like to have it back. Wish I knew of restrictions on upgrades earlier. Return the list of folders at startup. When I edit one file and try to cut & paste or copy the page isn't fixed. It slides to the next file. How do I negate this issue?
