SimpleX Chat features:
- end-to-end encrypted messages, with editing, replies and deletion.

SimpleX Chat advantages:
- privacy of your identity, profile, contacts and metadata: unlike any other existing messaging platform, SimpleX uses no phone numbers or any other identifiers assigned to the users - not even random numbers. This protects the privacy of who you are communicating with, hiding it from SimpleX platform servers and from any observers.
- complete protection against spam and abuse: as you have no identifier on SimpleX platform, you cannot be contacted unless you share a one-time invitation link or an optional temporary user address.
- full ownership, control and security of your data: SimpleX stores all user data on client devices, the messages are only held temporarily on SimpleX relay servers until they are received.
- decentralized proxied peer-to-peer network: you can use SimpleX Chat via your own relay servers and still communicate with people using pre-configured or any other SimpleX relay servers.
- fully open-source code.
You can connect to anybody you know via link or scan QR code (in the video call or in person) and start sending messages instantly - no emails, phone numbers or passwords needed.
Your profile and contacts are only stored in the app on your device - relay servers do not have access to this information.
All messages are end-to-end encrypted using open-source double-ratchet protocol; the messages are delivered via relay servers using open-source SimpleX Messaging Protocol.

Started using it recently, so far so good. a bit complicated for someone coming from WhatsApp, but it gives all the privacy you need. I will post another review after using the app for a month.

This should be on everyone's phone by default. Increasingly your privacy and data is being used against you. Privacy Anninomity first. Get this app spend 17 minutes to become familiar with its use and how to use it. Then Share it.

Best app so far I would give 6 star if possible, the only bug i have witnessed is dropping of calls randomly and when app lock is activated, at times you will authenticate severally to unlock using biometric scanning...but overall i like the app

This is a very great app. I have always wanted an app that lets us use local storage and add a separate pass code that is not a device lock, which adds more privacy and security. Being able to import and export databases and setting passphrase for them is also a clever idea. As a whatsapp user, it took me a bit of time to get used to SimpleX chat, but it's easy, maybe 5 to 10 minutes? Overall, it is recommended if you want a lot of privacy. The backups are being encrypted is great.

Hi.. I just installed simplex.. And it looks promising to me but I find very difficulty to convince my friends and colleagues to install it and use it.Maybe lack of advertisement or knowledge about ur app..Also little tricky to setup/use in comparison to other apps like whatspp/signal...Or maybe they all are narrow minded 😁😁..cant u guys use phone no. To invite/add anyone or from device contact list by using masking tech so no one can see phone no (all e2e encrypted format). Thanks team

The app itself is fine but I got added to a group that was posting child porn and there's no way to report it. No app should allow that.

4 stars, but actually between 3-4 maybe 5. the app is very flexible and smart. However, the BIGGEST BUG: if I've been offline for a while and someone has sent me lots of stuff + something important at the end like an e-ticket. when I open the chat the app tries to load everything starting FROM THE OLDEST and it's VERY SLOW. This means the last important file I need right now won't be able to open till the cows come home!

Unfortunately, completely useless for my child as it's not possible to use the same account on 2 devices. All Google suggested options end with error on either device (phone and tablet)

previously i was using session but left it because it doesn't give separate app lock that this app gives . I'm not sure but can u guys add the thi g session uses google notification to send notification real time without application being running in background

great app just have moreThe app is great overall, but it still needs some improvements. Connection stability could be better, especially during peak hours. Uploading files sometimes fails or takes too long. It would also be very helpful if new members could see the full chat history when joining a group. With these improvements, the app would be much more reliable and user-friendly. 💗

Not having push notifications is a huge deal breaker. I've sacrificed my battery for the past month on "always on" notifications for a supposedly more secure system. But still no push notifications... not worth keeping

Message videos fail to download and cannot try again once declared "corruped file" even though anyone else can see the video just fine. Trying to send videos also fail and never finish uploading. But the previes of videos are just fine apparently. Idon't have signal/network problems and the app its up to date, and pretty much happens to plenty of other people using Simplex while others have no issues, its inconsistent.

The only issue that I have been running into is, that sometimes messages don't arrive at their destination (1 tickmark visible). Android recipient changing settings to "always listen" (from checking every 10 minutes), then back to "check periodically" (every 10 minutes) has been fixing this. Recipient has "always running in the background" enabled, no power management on this app. Otherwise, we are very satisfied with SimpleX Chat (we have been using the latest versions all this time).

💬 SimpleX feels like messaging with the training wheels off—in a good way. No phone number, no ID, just pure chat. I like how it feels private without being paranoid, and the design’s clean without trying too hard. It’s got that quiet rebel vibe, and I’m into it. 🕶️📡🧃

best chat for simplicity. pros: no data collected, simple interface, can add friends without a phone number, transfer large files easily. free voice chat. good voice quality. cons: notifications can be slow. sometimes 10 minutes. kind of hard to set up at first. you can only send one file at a time even though you can select multiple ones. only the last selected will send. however the challenge setting up is due to the security and privacy. once you have added friends it's very simple to use.
