The Demon King's Castle in Ruins
The human race attacking the Demon King's castle is nothing new and has happened countless times before. What makes this time different though, is that the Adventurers decided to join forces with the Imperial Army and the 'Hero of Caerleon' to lead a full onslaught in hopes of wiping out the Demons once and for all.
They attacked the Demon stronghold with overwhelming numbers and succeeded in its total destruction. All of the demons in the castle were taken prisoner except for one lone skeleton named 'Skul'.

Once you're through with the main story, test your skills and limits in the new challenging 'Dark Mirror' mode!

really enjoying the game. there's a few graphical bugs at the moment but it hasn't been a problem. I didn't realise this was going to be a roguelite game, I just pre-registered without checking, as anything playdigious puts out pure gold, so I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks again!

The controls are too hard. Most of the time i t is unresponsive. Is there something wrong with this game? Im dropping it 100 times i play this. The game is cool and the graphic are great but the controls ARE TERRIBLE THAT IT SUCKS. for those who play 2D RETRO GAME you know the control pad of this game sucks.

The experience is great. But there's still bug that I encountered. 1)When you close the game and open the game again your skull and items will be gone. 2)When I open the game the movement, attack, dash, and jump button is gone. I hope this bug will be fix soon.

Edited: I tried a controller (android) and the left and right triggers aren't working. The support section does say they can't guarantee compatibility with every android controller, but i think it would be quite useful to add an option to map out controls or any type of customization to controller settings.

Deserved to be 5 star but some bugs affect my gameplay i will changed it once fixed. -No exit button -Add a SAVE option (just auto delete once char. die so no one can abuse it) -Npc dialogs is laggy it goes from .25 speed to normal everytime you speak to them. -Sometimes theres a bug when i tap jump or attack, the option keeps appearing (touch controls) -Levels are not full screen there's a pink BG on my left and right side of screen. -Enemies hard to see when they're below the attack controls.

this is one of the game i wish there are mobile version, so i really appreciate it so much. | btw there are 2 bugs i found. one is small bug when i sometimes stuck at downloading loading screen but easy fix with relaunch the game. second is after i open inventory, somehow the jump button can trigger inventory button and even sometimes make frame drop. i hope they can fix this soon. | suggestion : make all button can be change size too, not just the move pad.

Great game, buggy port. Ive had skul on my PC for quite some time, although enjoyable the first handful of runs, it does not match up to my other games. Now that its on my phone, its one of the best games out there for phone. Ive stumbled upon multiple bugs, including controls switching over to controller making me unable to play the game, and jumping sometimes tries to open and close the pause menu 3 times and lag the game out. Other than that, it's very optimized for phone.

The game is good. The only problems are the touch control especially the movement joystick. I sometimes can't go down a platform because the joystick is stucked at the bottom of the left screen. There is also a delay on dialogue screen. There is no exit option. The game still doesn't have the additional dlc.

Very buggy. A few bugs were negligible such as frame drops when talking to NPCs and recurring achievements even though you've already gotten said achievements but none as bad as not being able to progress through the game and forces you a restart without accomplishing anything due to a game port flaw on touch controls. I'm dark mirror 1 you can't proceed after beating the dark hero since you are required to collect the dark quartz located in the middle of the stage but you can't.

There are four bugs. 1)When exiting the app within a stage, all the items, skulls, and quintessence are missing. 2)There are times when I try to play the game that all of the buttons are missing. Restarting the game can fix it but most of the times it takes more than two restarts before any of the buttons to appear again. 3)When playing the game or continuing the previous run only the skull throw and reborn skill are the only buttons present. 4)The game is not yet optimized for mobile platform.

Its a very fun game and a really well done port aside from a few issues. The game has some performance issues, the game doesnt run as smooth as it should. Plus, it has only happened twice, but the game sometimes falsely detects that i have a controller connected when i have not. I hope these issues get fixed in upcoming updates. Other than that, its a good port of a good game.

I tried it for a few days, the game is great, alike on PC. Controls need getting used to a bit, but if u import controller support it would be amazing. Had some bugs, afformentioned by the people here, like controls disapearing, menu opens when jumping, exiting the game and being on the same level but without any skulls or skills. However these are just minor, and they didnt affect the gameplay much other than being annoying. Love the game, keep up the work!

Love it. Needs an "Exit" or "Quit Game" prompt (actual button or just a pop up question when hitting the back arrow on phone). I hate just force closing the game. Other than that, no complaints. I've never played it but really enjoy it so far. I'll up my rating to 5 🌟 's once there's an exit out of game option.

As of now I'd give a 3.5 stars. Hate using touch controls on games but this one didn't work at all with my mobile controller. Worse off, after attempting to use my controller the game got in some stuck state trying to use it that I could no longer play in any fashion. Had to eventually reinstall the whole game and it deleted my progress. Fun game though, will fix rating after hopefully a patch.

I was so excited when I saw this was coming out. But as soon as I downloaded it to my tablet, I could quickly see I would not be able to play it on the piece of equipment I would have preferred to play it on. The direction circle reproduces many multiple times as the gameplay stutters until it all locks up. If this is ever fixed, this game will receive the stars from me it deserves.

Edited review, with the NPC issues being worked on and the trick to crashing and losing your stuff just being going in and out of the app again, there's another issue. I'm currently on a great lich run, and literally can't open the app at the priest fight, it keeps crashing before it even loads in, and even if I'm lucky enough to load in, and be able to beat it while lagging insanely badly, I got kicked after beating it too...

it is skul. when it works. you cannot pause during a boss fight or the game will glitch HEAVILY. do not close the app during a bossfight either or your controls will dissappear entirely, every time a characters pixel art closeup is shown? lag. I will definitely enjoy this game once these bugs are fixed but rn it's not a recommend. EDIT: It is currently entirely unplayable due to the controls disappearing if you close the app.

This is one of my favorite games, but I'm running into an issue where after I've beaten the First Hero in the dark mirror, it won't allow me to interact with the pedestal to progress foward. End up having to just restart the run. I've seen a lot of issues about controller support, but my Xbox controller connected and ran with zero issues.

Game is pretty good when it runs! However, some issues I've had are fps drops during NPC interactions, crashing when entering a new room or loading into the game, and my achievements aren't sticking. Edit: gotten a little harder to play. On a crash and restart, I'll load into the room I was in and be the base Skul boy with no items or skulls, sometimes even closing the app and reloading it does nothing forcing me to restart the whole run. Constant fps dips on dialogues and more crashing issues.

3.5 but google doesn't allow half stars. The game is virtually identical to the console and PC versions, so it's already a good time. And aside from some stutters when opening menus, the game runs well. My bigger issue though is that this game was built for keyboards and controllers, so mobile controls will always be inferior. If you have already played this, then it's fine. But if you're trying it out for the first time, I recommend getting it on PC, or even Switch if you want it on the go.
