For every 7 min of the show you get just under 3 min of the same 3 ads and the "we'll be right back" screen. Ads are on a timer so no mid scene courtesy. I did not run into any buffering issues. Ui was easy enough, no glitches for the little I did.. could use a slight remodel imo. Was the ONLY place streaming the movie I wanted.. not even the big A had it so that was a plus.

Haven't had the full experience as I have just downloaded the app, but right off the bat the ads and intermission are ridiculously frequent and long. 6 yo 7 minutes of the movie with 3 minutes at least of ads or just "we'll be right back". Why not just play the movie? The ads are so repetitive and annoying. Even as I'm typing this, the movie is starting to glitch and buffer - very frustrating. Never had this problem with any other movie app. Hopefully you will figure this out before I uninstall.

Ever since the last update, when watching shows in landscape mode, the show doesn't fill up the screen. On the left-hand side, there is a small sliver that runs down the length of the screen that shows my normal screen photo. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the app, doesn't fix issue.

Save password option chosen, but still must put in password? That is stupid and unnecessary. Also, there is nowhere to type in your particular choice you want to see, you have to scroll down in the hopes that you will find what you want. Again, stupid. This is even after you put in the Google main page Sling app and exactly what you want to watch. Ads are way too frequent. Cannot enjoy the show if ads are just about half of the showtime.

Just because it's free doesn't mean it's better. I guarantee you that it will be easier to rent whatever movie you're looking for. I wanted to watch the shining, and I swear every 5 minutes you got 2 minutes of ads. I forgot what happened in the last clip by the time the ads were finally over. And if they run out of ads, they will still make you wait. There is a timer that's set before you can watch it agian. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Unless you want an extra HOUR of ads.

NCAA Tournament games on all channels come up about 10% of the time on my LG tv. A 6-9 error comes up and tech support is a joke. I've tried everything they suggested. When all those options they suggested fail, they say try a different device. I do not pay their fees to watch the biggest games of the year on my laptop or phone. I hope by next year there's another streaming option to watch the NCAA tournament.

A 5 for the ability to watch sports I want. Absolutely horrifically sucks with Chromecast. It has never failed to get stuck on ads and then you have to disconnect only to find it has FF thru the movie about an hour. Also, live sports is pixeled and freezes using Chromecast. I hope Sling reads these reviews. Update 4/6/24 Sling has done absolutely nothing and evidently doesn't read reviews. Trying to watch final 4 and it freezes A LOT. Don't have this problem on fire stick, just the android phone

Great movies free and finally found a movie I've been looking for a long time. That said, its very hard to want to keep watching after only 30 minutes of the actual movie because of how often the commercials interupt. 7 minutes of movie for 3 minutes of commercials have ruined the movie. You start getting into whats happening in a scene and every 7 minutes it cuts to commercials. Not sure its worth the time itvtakes to complete a movie.

absolutely horrible service. I use this on Chromecast (GoogleTv) and Samsung TV. they cannot even give correct titles to videos. title would say something and the content is something else. cricket highlights are the worst. can't even find them. and two matches are some how stitched as one. and can't even fast forward without seeing tons of ads and finally giving up. absolutely trash app and service.

The only reason I am getting Sling is The Tennis Chanel, but the channel freezes and crashes my Roku bunch of times every day. That almost does not happen with other channels. Needless to say the buffering is comon across. I don't have any such issues with Netflix, Prime, Disney, Paramount, Showtime or any other app. Sling needs to do something!!!

For a month or so I was having issues with buffering and picture quality. I tried everything, including a CAT 6 ethernet cable from my router to the TV. Nothing worked. Then I tried another streaming service. No problems. The issue is clearly with Sling and they will do nothing to address the problem. It is a shame, because they offer the best deal of the major streaming services, but I cannot deal with the buffering and compromised picture quality, especially while watching sports.

Update: Still cannot access the app to set programs to record when traveling outside the US. Works fine when I am home. When traveling outside the US, I cannot even get into the app to set programs to record. The feedback email for the app is no longer monitored. The help on their website is not accessible either. The only way to contact them is to give them a bad review.

Yes, its a cheap(ish) streaming service that 75% of the time gets the job done. No fox or CBS is weird and frustrating, but you can almost get over it. The thing that makes your head spin (on both your phone AND on TV apps) is how glitchy and slow it is. There is no reason that every single time I try to close the app while something is playing, and I mean completely closing, that it should try for a full minute to overlay what I was watching before on my phone. Nearly Unusable

App is mostly stable. Sling TV has changed the behavior of their app so that if you change the "channel" while a commercial is being displayed, it will "pause" the steam so that when you return to the "channel" you MUST watch the commercials before the channel will return to streaming the program. This is ONLY to increase Sling's ad generated revenue. Disappointing.

I have Sling on my smart TV. Initially, the app worked great. I've now had it for two months. The app crashes all the time. Huge latency issues, even though TV is receiving strong wifi signal over Gbps network. Once it does load, the system is slow 🐌 crashes on Fox News all the time. Considering different options. It might be $40 bucks a month, but the aggrevation is not worth it!

This app is very unstable on Android platforms. Crashes and lockups are common. It will also start multiple instances of itself. In the past, I have restarted my phone each time it falls over. Now I have found that if you execute a "force stop" from the app properties when it breaks, you can then restart the app in most situations without restarting your phone.

Come home from a long day of work to relax. Start searching where I can watch Mavs vs timberwolves game and see it's on sling. Spent 20 min trying to load the app on my tv and phone to no avail. I've been paying for sling for like 1yr and use it like once every 2-3 months. Time to cancel and go back to cable. All streaming services are way too expensive and convulated. I shouldn't have to do a web search to see what streaming channel I have to load to watch the game.

It sucks because so many commercials you can barely enjoy movies. On top of that the same commercial over and over and over on the same movie gets irritating after the 5th time. I counted 21 commercials in one movie. Maybe if they were different commercials being played it wouldn't be so bad like before actual cable. Even youtube don't have that many. The program itself plays very well. Just the interruptions don't allow you to get into a movie long enough to enjoy it.

Good lord, what a terrible experience from the get go. Extremely sluggish interface, guide never loads, ads and suggestions everywhere. Thought this would be an alternative to my cable provider....I rather pay the extra for the convenience. And yes, I've tried it on different devices, Samsung TVs, LG TVs, Fire sticks, all have a horrible experience

I have had nothing but frustration trying to obtain basic functionality with Sling on ANY of 4 devices. Cell phone. Tablet, Chromebook, or Fire TV. I have rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled and repeated numerous times on each and every device over the course of several days and it still does not even open on any device. It's been a nightmare and it's preventing me from accessing my subscriptions for MLB baseball and the History Channel among others.
