All of the features worked fine for years until recently. When calls are made through the app, many times my private line is displayed to the individual instead of my smartline number. Customer service instructed me to logout and lo back in. No success, no one can figure out why! It defeats the purpose of having a second line. It is no longer reliable. I will be looking for an alternative.

UPDATE: It got to the point where we couldn't sent text images and regular texts would sometimes send, sometimes not. Our location and use did not change, this was simply an app failure - can't have that for business communication. We had no choice but to switch the number away from smartline. (And yes, we called in, went through the steps. "Known issue" even though it wasn't reported on GoDaddy status page.) PREVIOUS REVIEW We use heavily for business. It's mostly functional, but its buggy.

This app has been great!!! It has become exactly what I needed, (2 phone#'s-1device) and it works better than par. It has only stopped once. However, I wrongly presumed, that I would be creating a new contacts list within the app for my business customer's and contacts. Instead, my personal contact list was imported to the app. This was a major drawback, and a disappointment. .....I'm sure I'll find the right app for the job tho.

I've been using Smartline for about 4 years now. It's a great way to get your business calls on your cell phone and keep the numbers separate. You can set office hours when your phone rings or goes straight to the greeting. You can also send and receive text messages with media, and it all gets saved on the app, so if you switch phones in the future, you don't lose anything. When you call customers back, your smartline number shows, not your cell. Yes, use Smartline!

For the developers of this application. We need some major upgrades with this application. I would like to see, some sort of capability to have folders to range calls that come in. When I have to go back on a call, I can NEVER find it, and if you are making folders, make it w/ an option to color code and label the folders as we wish. Next thing, I would like to see a search bar at the top when texting someone. Once I text someone, I can't find it, and if their was a search bar, it be was easier

Edit 11/13: Text messages are not coming through until I pick up phone and unlock it. Why is it doing this? Perfect for my business! Best price for adding a # to my cell phone with unlimited text messages. I can tell if a call or text is from my business # or Private. Plus it works great for even recieving/sending pictures or videos. Never had a single issue with it as long as you follow the instructions for setting it up. Highly recommend!

Doesn't start up. This is unfortunate when you're relying on it for your business. When I do manage to get it up, the next time same issues. Makes me wonder how many missed calls and texts there are. Awful. Giving it til end of month (before next billing cycle)...then unfortunately will have to move on if not fixed. Use to work. But this isn't acceptable for a business.

I mostly like the app. It's great for distinguishing personal from business calls. I like that I get notified before my smart line rings, giving me a chance to screen the call. It's terrible at sending pictures through text. The quality is terrible. Two different times I had issues seeing my communications. It said I had 3 unread texts but it never brought them through. I had to uninstall the app and reinstall it to fix that issue. The app is pretty rudimentary with its capabilities but it does the job. Definitely worth $10 a month.

After trying several different similar apps, I actually ended up using Burner for a while at first, the price was pretty good and I thought it wasn't bad. I ended up upgrading to SmartLine when I changed domain names for my business website, it does cost slightly more, but for the features you get, and the MUCH more professional and easy to remember number I got assigned, it's so worth it. Definitely check out the 7 day free trial at the very least, you'll see why it's so helpful.

Would be nice if they could get this app to run smoothly. My business depends on my ability to send and receive texts. I have so many problems with not being able to return a text, or knowing if it sent. It will just show "sending" and sometimes it actually sends, but you'll never know. This app should be free with the amount of issues it has. I wish I could take my number to my carrier and have an actual service. Please fix the issues.

This used to be good for my business, but something happened to where I don't get calls. They show up as missed calls or a voicemail if someone leaves a message. In the line of work that we do, we need to be able to receive calls as they happen. The phone literally doesn't ring and it leaves us with missed opportunities for our clients. Also the group text needs to be a feature ASAP. UPDATE: for some reason the number was on blocked list. Customer service helped greatly!

Great when it works. This app can be questionable. It can work great and then it crashes and won't open. I use this as a business like and the unreliability lately is at times useless. **Update for the purpose of conversation... The app crashes upon opening it. Not performing a specific task. Although it does every once in a while NOT send a text and I have to wait a while and retry it.

For calls and voicemail it works okay, but for texting not so much. My experience has been frustrating to say the least and little to no customer service available. I often get notifications that I have a text but can't read it. I also often have a difficult time sending messages, I type a text and after hitting send it will either fail to send or get stuck sending and not confirm sent. Logging into the app is frustrating too. Overall for a paid subscription app it's not worth it.

I like this app because it's more integrated as a phone software than say google voice. For the most part it gets the job done though by creating a second phone number and keeping mine private. I do not like how it does not show who is calling, just "business call", it does not do group messages, and occasionally glitches out. There is one number I keep trying to save the name and it keeps resetting back to the phone number. I'm updated to current software.

I wouldn't wish this "service/app" on my worst enemies. It spikes my cortisol and makes my head hurt. Lag and connectivity issues routinely make it challenging/impossible to communicate with my clients, I can't log in without resetting my password or trying to find my account number somewhere because the app doesn't recognize my number (although it's linked to it), and I need to sign out and back in all the time because everything freezes. Maybe someday they'll invest a little into fixing it.

When you stop subscribing, you lose access to all of your text messages. In addition, there is no group texting, there are significant outages, texts are not searchable, and texts for identify verification often do not arrive in time. But losing access to my messages after I needed to upgrade is the reason that prompted this review. There was no warning that this would happen, and I lost essential information for my business and created a really embarrassing situation with a client.

Super buggy, crashes all the time, has a difficult time receiving and sending texts and calls. Also frustrating they're allowing people to sign up even though they're allegedly (via their customer service line) closing their business and shutting down the service in the next two years. Also tiny things : you're able to set "business hours" in the app, but I still get texts and calls outside of that time frame so it feels like a redundant option. Meh.

Frustrating Experience. This app technically works, but it leaves me frustrated due to almost comical oversights. When someone in my contacts calls my business line, I can't see who's calling. When someone texts me, I can see a preview of what they said, but when I open the message it isn't there. Messages take an eternity to send (or don't) and I'm never sure if they've been received. I will not be sticking with this service. The only thing I do like is the transcription of voicemails.

Used to be a good, dependable app but has gone downhill fast. Takes entirely too long to start the app, IF it decides to start at all. Doesn't send a good deal of messages which is kind of important when you're dealing with a client or trying to place an order with a supplier. Sometimes you're lucky if you get one ring on the phone before it directs the call to voicemail. I currently would NOT recommend this app the way it stands. Desperately needs overhauled and upgraded.

This app has a morality filter. You cannot send messages that refer to sexuality or drugs regardless of context. I have no idea why but it has proven itself repeatedly; it is based on using certain words. Broad language about this is found in the user agreement. Attachment send and receive can be hit and miss though it has improved with recent releases. Otherwise, it works well enough.
