Horrible app. The app is always flagging me as the passenger for a ride when, in fact I have been the driver. When I go into the app to change the entry, the entry gets deleted from my driving history. When I called Progressive, they told me that is how the app is supposed to work. They suggested sending me a device to use instead of the app. I have an idea... how about fixing the app instead of giving me another unreliable device. I'm also always dinged for braking too hard. Not very accurate.

App is straight forward however, how does a user pause or disable the app prior to a trip? For example, I am in a friend's car as a passenger and I don't want Snapshot to even start to record data. It appears that after trip has been recorded/finished, is when I can select if I was the driver, passenger, motorcycle, bike etc. Please help me figure this out devs. I used to be with Allstate and their app enables users to toggle the app on or off.

Its important to understand phones aren't actually smart. The app is limited to the phones sensors to determine our driving. So yes, if your phone falls mid driving, you will get a penility. But after a few months of driving, I have had no issues with it. Those complaining about it not being accurate either have a broken phone, or need to check up on their driving skills. Biggest downside, it's a batteries worst nighmare. It uses 50% of my battery which is 40% more than any of my apps.

This app is not accurate at all and considering that data collected via this app will have an effect on your insurance you want the app to be accurate. I was skiing and it mapped me on the ski slopes for the entire day, recording phone usage, hard brake and fast acceleration like of i was driving. The fun part is that when I checked the map it was very accurate in locating me on slopes and not on road, ridiculous!!

I would have given it below zero if I had to. The app is flawed. It kept telling me about my phone usage, which I don't use. I was confused at first and later found out, it was my google map. my lady told me it may also confuse music app like Spotify as phone usage. they need to fix this pronto!...or else I all just delete it...it doesn't make sense. And one more thing...it frustrating having to keep up with marking if you are the driver or not. sometime I take Uber, shutter bus, as a passenger.

Not sure the physical mechanics behind its judgement of your driving, but I highly recommend that you use the plugin and NOT the app. I am an extremely safe driver, and after 6 months, they decided that I brake too heavily and too often, and hiked my rate up 20%. Because apparently braking to avoid an accident is just as bad as having an accident. I'll be finding a new provider.

The premise is great, measure your driving skills, so if you're a good driver that's reflected in your premium. The metrics used are so utterly simplistic, however, they paint a highly inaccurate picture. For example, my main commuting route runs in large part over a 65 mph highway with traffic signals every couple miles or so. Yellow lights are seven seconds on this highway, which is still too short to avoid triggering Hard Braking, plus many times the driver in front of me doesn't give me the choice to drive through a yellow light. You'd think a sophisticated app could tell the difference between someone slowing evenly to a controlled stop, from a driver who is constantly braking due to following too closely. Naturally I got a B grade and my premium increased, fortunately not by too much.

I've had Snapshot on my Galaxy Note 9 now for a few months and it has not really worked correctly from day 1. I drive a fair amount Mon.-Fri. and it picks up only maybe 1-2 trips a month. Everytime I check on my score in the app it says "We haven't seen you in a while, check your settings...", which nothing has changed. Maybe eventually it'll accurately take my trips and get me a discount. As for now, it pretty much sucks.

App kept registering events even though there were none. Finally I had to rig Velcro straps in the console to strap the phone so it could not move at all. That seemed to work unless the phone rang. That would trigger a phone usage event even though the call was not answered. Putting the phone in a case in the back seat didn't work. As long as snapshot is running you cant listen to music on it or even for navigation. I'd say Progressive has some programing problems to work on!!!!

For a monitoring app that can detect hard breaking and quick accelerations it sure has issues determining if I'm a passenger or on public transportation. It occasionally will indicate I'm not the driver while I am. There is a way to alter the status but it takes multiple attempts to change it. The other issue is it will penalize, an event, if you use the phone navigation while driving. I intentionally will stop in a parking lot or road stop to adjust the GPS.

Would be great if it, oh I don't know, WORKED. I've had Progressive for several months now and the app has recorded 7 drives. Everytime I log on, it says trips are unavailable, I can't look at my progress, NOTHING loads whatsoever. I keep getting emails from Progressive saying my app isn't responding or sending any sort of data to them and to open my app. But everytime I open my app, it just gives me error codes and either blanks out completely or says to check back later.. okay...

Not worth it, collects phone data when you're not using your phone just because Bluetooth connected (for pandora to play in the car). They want to charge fees to cancel the feature, only alternative is option to switch you to the Snapshot plug-in plug-in free, but your data doesn't stay with you. Looking forward to leaving Progressive all together.

The idea is nice, however it still counts against you if you're in a drive thru, or a passenger in a car, or at a traffic light, or the car is on and in you're park. It cannot tell the difference. You also receive a low grade if idiots in front of you cut you off and you have to "hard brake." They have a "pause" feature that you must schedule by days only. It should be simplified. Let us "pause" on/off. Instead of recording 24-7. This app does have potential...just wish it were better!

I'm excited for a potential discount but don't think I'll get one because every time I use navigation it counts as cell phone usage even if I'm not touching my phone while the vehicle is in motion. The worst thing is, I frequently use navigation to determine whether or not I'll be on time to work, so this really isn't beneficial to me. I also discovered that my phone itself tracks phone "usage" while I'm driving but that "usage" includes notifications. So, if I get a text it counts that.

Ripoff. This app doesn't let me change my trips. If I'm not driving it won't let me switch to passenger. It's been that way for the last two months. I've Uninstaller and reinstalled yet I can't adjust anything. My score has dropped a level and all I can say is that this app and progressive are a ripoff. Edit 11 2 19 Ive reinstalled the app a few times and still can't change my trips. I even had to reset my phone, thus having to reinstall snapshot and the same issue exists. Frustrating!

.1% phone use (due to a notification that lit up my screen) triggers an event for a trip, lowering the score. 5 "hard brakes" at one intersection where I don't even remember stopping quickly. I never text while driving and have never been in an accident, but I am on track for a C-. This app is wildly inaccurate and the most minimal events are over represented in your score. There should be a way to dispute events if you're stopped and in park (curbside pickup for example).

Great app for tracking driving. Even better that it helps you save money. Terrible for battery life though. It absolutely drains my battery, like 30% or more battery usage throughout the day. I dont want to lose all my progress by using the actual snapshot, so I'm holding out, but it's getting a bit ridiculous always having to have a charger on hand because of this app. It's not like this on IOS.

The user interface and user experience is poor. I rely on many apps, and this app is behind on the times. There are so many other better and more accurate apps to record your driving habits. It does not accurately record your driving habits. My phone constantly alerts me to force close the app due to battery usage when I am not in a vehicle moving. The phone usage is falsified greatly. One trip recorded 9 hard brakes in a matter of four blocks. I would not recommend this app to anybody.

Relatively easy to set up. Noticeable battery drain. The biggest issue is that it was falsely reporting my cell phone use. I didn't touch my phone at all, screen never turned on, no notifications, didn't ring during my drive and it dinged me for using my phone for 2% of my 6 minute trip. I'm not interested in paying extra for a faulty app. There's also no way to report an issue other than sitting on hold on the phone where you hear "we're experiencing higher than normal wait times" hard pass.

Total unreliable app. Have wrong readings/inconsistent results 40_50% of the time. My wife and I usually travel together. Most of the time when my phone (s8) had a hardstop listed, my wife's phone (iPhone) did not show anything.. and vice versa. So end of each trip I had to compare both phone results and pick the one which had better results.
