The app is good. And works fine, but adaptive sound feature is annoying... it's fine if a user likes that kind of thing, but if they don't, there's no way to fully disable. Your hear through on your anc level will transition at times that's not accurate, and you should have the option to use max anc always, if you want to. That being said, you'll have anc on, take a phone call, and then it automatically reduces to 50% hear through. There's no option in settings to change either of these problems

Headphones not able to pause or manage tracks. Overall love the headphones sound, and voice control for noise cancelling and press/hold to listen outside the headphones is great. But even in the app, the play/pause/skip controls don't do anything. -3 stars for basic functionality not working. Will give back 2 stars if/when it starts working. Also, could use better tutorial on gestures, but found those online.

Speak to chat is the worst thing to have randomly turned on cause you brushed the headphones. All of a sudden, whatever I'm doing has gotta be put on hold so I can keep hearing my music/book. It's never easy to turn it off with the shortcut. So I ask you, let me customize what the buttons do or permanently disable that feature cause it's always getting activated at inopportune times.

Hardware is great, but this app is HORRIBLE! Instead of giving users freedom to customize tap settings, it locks them down to upsell partner services (Spotify, etc.). Users should have ability to set what they want a double-tap to do. Adaptive controls are a poor gimmick that don't work correctly. Disappointed.

Resets settings to default any time an earbud is connected or disconnected, no way to change default settings, no developer support, connectivity and reliability have consistently gone downhill as updates roll out. Noise canceling will auto shut-off after 5-10 minutes with no way to toggle outside of the app. Would give 0 stars if possible. Will never purchase a set of Sony headphones/earbuds again and I could not more strongly suggest you purchase literally anything that does not rely on this.

PLEASEEEEEEE let me customize the functionality of the link buds s more. I would love to have (play/pause , 1 tap) ( next song, 2 taps) (previous song, 3 taps) (noise cancelling/ambient sound , long press) for one ear bud in at a time..... WHYYYYYY would you make it less customizable than literally any other earbud??? The ear buds are great but the software is so annoying to deal with.

1. "Speak to chat" turns on REGULARLY, unprompted. There is no equivalent app to this on PC. So it turns on, I laugh, and it pauses. For 20 secondss. I have to switch to my phone, turn STC off, and switch back to PC. Frustrating 2. Needs a MUCH better equalizer. The equalizer adjustment range should start near 1 hz, and go up to 16k hz. It also needs WAY more in-between sliders, so I can adjust how the music sounds depending on the specific instruments playing in the orchestra I listen to.

The sony linkbuds would be awesome, if this app would allow me to connect them primarily to my account phone. Every time I plug them I to my ears they connect to any Bluetooth device except the one that I want to use. I then ATTEMPT, to open this app and all I see is a spinning circle saying that it is trying to connect. Thanks sony I'll be buying airpods or sennheiser products in the future.

App hangs android phone. xm5 buds, oneplus 10pro, this app. All latest software and the app works flawlessly when I want to switch devices. I have over 5 devices connected and switch between these devices during the day. Once I put the buds into the box, my phone screen is unresponsive. It happens every time. You can't easily restart the phone when screen does not work but all is back to normal after a reset.

I have the 720n and I couldn't figure out why every 15 minutes the headphones would disconnect and when I would reconnect them it was like they were being connected to for the first time. A google search showed a lot of other people have the same problem. It's this application causing it. I force stopped the app and the headphones worked fine

This app is virtually pointless. Everything it does is done better by the app I use for playing music. The only thing I do use the app for is to check battery levels. Even that's useless because the WF-1000XM4 I have can't keep a charge for one hour with ANC or passive audio turned off. A widespread known issue Sony chooses to ignore and not take responsibility for. So my WF-1000XM4 earbuds are being replaced with something not Sony. Not needing this app anymore is a perk.

Stop the popups and forced manuals. I just want to change a setting on my headphones, why do I need to be accosted by updates that have NOTHING to do with products I own. Those are ads. No I don't want to setup 360 audio, no I don't want to read the manual. Just let me change a setting without having to close a window every time I open the app.

Not great. Keeps re-enabling speak-2-chat after I disable, causing the headphones to pause sound whenever I make a noise, talk to myself, sing...not only is this a stupid feature (I can handle hitting pause to talk to people on my own, thanks...), but the fact that it refuses to disable for any length of time is very annoying. Cut it out, Sony and stick to what you are good at: hardware.

App is fine, but it definitely needs to be refreshed. I would also love the ability to turn off the notification chime the headphones play when I get a notification. This so annoying because it interrupts whatever I'm listening to. I have the voice notifications off but still get chime notifications and the only way to stop that is to put my phone in Do Not Disturb mode. Obviously I don't like this option because then I might miss something important!

This app is an unfinished pile of garbage. What the heck does this even mean? "Quick access is a function that allows you to use the service by operating headphones" Then a menu to set what two and three presses do. Except that menu is unclickable. Why am I not able to set the default mode is between hear thru, anc, or none? Every time I take the earbud out and put it back in, it goes back to hear thru. I set adaptive sound control to use anc in all situations, but that still doesn't work

full of features to add Sony wireless headphones of all types. I enjoy the "speak to pause" feature while concentrating on tasks. The location based settings to customize the listening to environment is super. I feel less concerned about the premium I paid for the headphones once I started really using the app.

For my XM4's, it allowed me to set specific functions for tap/double tap/triple tap/hold/tap-hold on either earbud. I had to "upgrade" to the XM5's, and now there's only the option to use preset controls or disable them entirely per-earpiece. Except, you can set it to open a few specific partnered services like Spotify with a double or triple tap. Shamelessly removing features for endorsement $$$, awful. As an added insult, the 4-tap volume control is unusable, requiring precise timing!! GROSS.

I will be skipping Sony when it's time to get new headphones because of this app. There are a ton of features that don't work right and detract from the experience. For instance, if auto-off is enabled, when I lift the headphones off my ear momentarily it stops the audio and the only way to fix it is to reconnect Bluetooth. Really a pain when you are on a zoom call and your kid comes in to ask you a question. I'm not sure if anyone at Sony has ever used this app. They probably all use airpods.

Rather good. Allows quite detailed configuration. But three criticisms: 1. It's a bit of a pain to have very different playback controls between earbuds (WF-1000XM4 and XM5). Should be the option to set the same. 2. I would love to see the battery levels of my headsets even when not connected (the last received level). 3. It's a shame that the wind reduction option from the WF-1000XM4 is not available on the XM5. Would be great to add it.

I have been a long time Sony headphone user. This is my first pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones. These are horrible. I cannot find a way to keep them from constantly turning themselves off. They do not seem to stay paired with my phone or my PC. The app is clunky and lacks necessary features. I was also annoyed that there is not an app for PC. I shouldn't have to control the headphones that are paired to my PC with my phone. I'm constantly having to reconnect them during Zoom calls. Please fix.
