It's a solid app, reminds me of the Sonos app. I just don't understand the decision to put the settings all the way at the bottom of the scroll list for app selection, instead of where it is normally under the hamburger menu at the top of the header box....the overall functionality is pretty on point though, I just don't see why there can't be some UI consistency with what seems to be the choice of every other ui/ux Developer. I regularly want to adjust EQ and I'm tripping over the UI.

It's a decent, stable app that performs as advertised. Works well with my Portable Sony Speakers and in many ways is better than many stock music players. It DESPERATELY needs a Dark Mode, the bright white UI really gets hard on the eyes. If it weren't for the apps lack of customization options, this app would be an instant 4 or 5 stars.

Not sure what is going on, system has gone to bad. Only reason it's 2 star is because it use to work. Now flatly fail, it's dependent on Google Home is a total failure. Speakers shows availability but will not play and revert you to Google Home which doesn't recognize speakers. I used to have 4 speakers connected through out the house, now I am down to 2 speakers recognize in a group. Shows available for casting, but will not play. I should have paid extra and gotten Sonos.

The app words good. No issues. I have one suggestion. I need the prompt that reminds me that the battery is at 20% to not happen or be silenced. It interrupts playback, and that no good. I see that there's a way to mute other things with my speaker (SRS XE200) so if the low battery prompt could not happen then this speaker would be near perfect.

So far so good. I feel like it could be a little more in depth as far as control and or clarity but overall I've watched this app grow over the past 7 years now or so and it's awesome all around. The only downfall is the lack of party mode or whatever it's called where you link speakers together because the new and old model speakers can't mix.... greedy...... but otherwise the app has improved so well there's no load time it boots right up now, it use to need to take a minute or so

It works great for all that I would want in an app to control my receiver save for one important thing. When I want to be "remote" I would like the ability to choose bluetooth as an input and this isnt an option to control my str-dn1080. Seems like a very obvious thing to have control of when not near or even "line of sight" with an IR remote. Huge oversight and therefore mostly useless.

Works for what it's programmed to do but the Yamaha AV App blows this away, it does everything this does and way more. Yahama app controls all receiver settings, you could lose your remote and not realy care. Also this insists on updating and Sony doesn't support my receiver with the newer versions so they took away what little this app offered to begin with. Could be so much better.

It's fine, good even, but the audio is not as customizable for the environment as I'd like. The "equalizer" future is like a car radio but if I have to provide quality sound to a room or rooms it's just not that qualified as other apps do better for sounds equalization for loud or unusual environments. The equalized sound is quality, in a quiet environment, but in a loud or irregular environment it just doesn't make the cut. No use using this app in those situations the sound gets drowned out.

I've had this bluetooth speaker and the app for well over a year. It is suddenly crashing repeatedly and I cannot use my cell phone to control the volume or perform any functions on the speaker. Email sent to customer support received an automated response. I've cleared my cache and run virus scans with no appreciable effect. Please provide a bug fix for this issue because I use my speaker and the app every day.

This used to be great. Now when i change apps to choose music, if i go back to this app, it disconnects from the device. When selecting the device to reconnect, the brief disconnect causes music apps to pause the music. It's extremely frustrating! And I'm using an Xperia with two different Sony devices. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still get the same problem.

I have two XG-500 paired in stereo. I've noticed one speaker isn't as loud as the other speaker at times. After toggling sound settings to custom or hall and back to mega bass, it restores full sound to the right speaker. The other issue is that the speaker group I created doesn't appear in the list after you switch over to another app. I need to close the app and re-open it, and then the speaker group appears again. Latest speaker firmware 8100 isn't available on the website yet.

Great companion app for associated headphones. For some reason I want to say, "more control" but I'm relatively certain the app's eq (including Sony's Mega Bass adjustment) , button customizations, use achievements, and semi-regular headphone updates provide more control than Mos (here's lookin a you JBL, though you have your pluses too). The addition of spatial audio customizations is excellent cherry for the whipped cream atop this portable audio cake. Thanks, Sony! Walkman, please!!

I really like the app and support Sony but I would like you to strongly consider my two suggestions: 1. Automatically launch into main device's media files instead of having to click on "This device, phone, etc." We have horse the ability to access other device's manually. I want to be able to tap on the Sony Music Center app, and have it go right into my music. 2. Please develop a Dark Theme. I love the app but I don't like the white screen draining the battery. Thanks!! Nice tech fillled app!

No UI customizations. Direct playback of genre, artist, album is impossible without needing to create a playlist or add to an ongoing play queue or to play it next - anything but fundamental Play; in order to be able to initiate any playback at all, there is a need to pick a track to play and only then to return to whatever one wanted to play- as very awkward and unnecessary limitation. If that is not enough, it is unclear how to delete a play queue to create another, if it is possible at all.

Terrible user experience and setup. Remember when we (consumers) used apps instead of apps using us? I thought Bluetooth was created for ease of use. Sony has managed to take great hardware and convert it into the BetaMax of today that constantly forgets my device and connections. My Flagship Sony car stereo cannot connect to my phone without this miserable app installed. My experience has been horrible and I suggests buyers consider all options before installing and downloading this headache.

Well Sony, new phone and the app can't find the licence agreement and I can't skip that step. So, I'm 'locked out' until you fix this. I don't care about your license, I just want to change the equalizer. In your insistance to present the agreement in real-time, you are letting customers down. Either ensure 100% uptime of the licensing server, or use a stored copy.

This app used to be great. There was an update about a year ago and ever since then it will not connect via Bluetooth. I reached out to Sony support several times and they were no help. They even sent me up to tier two support. They were no help either. I also tried different phones It's not the phones it's the app. I have to manually connect every time. I'm actually thinking since this app doesn't work well anymore I'm just going to remove it from my phone and just use another music app.

Couldn't get it to work. Tryin to link it to a Sony amp to access music on my home network. Simply does not connect via wifi. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, confirm using latest device firmware etc. From online searches on this issue, seems it is a rampant issue with this app and their amp. Used to work but an update destroyed something and it has become an exercise in frustration trying to configure to work the way it used to. Sorry, cannot recommend.

Opened this app on a new phone because I got a speaker to use for work. The app seemingly refuses to acknowledge that I've added the speaker, automatically or manually, and the troubleshooting link doesn't work. it just keeps telling me to check my internet connection, doesn't matter if my VPN is active or disconnected. Aside from that, it probably works how it did a year ago, which was good, but I can't truly tell until this speaker connects.

Shouldn't be so hard to pair two speakers to group connect. My cheesy doss speakers connected to each other then to my phone one was the master one was the slave. It takes 2-5 minutes to do this every single time I hook MY two speakers together except when it's left-right. It should be just as easy for the party connect as it is for the left right channel connect.
