This app is helpful when you have other people around who don't realize how loud the TV is while watching a movie. Now I have proof, thanks to this app! Things are not as loud anymore & that's better for my ears.

This app is just a facade for ads, *a lot* of them. The displayed values have no means to be correct, we cannot calibrate anything, it makes no sense.

With all the extreme noise from those stupid little Rican mobiles that set off car alarms in the middle of the night need to be shut down and make them legal.... The mayor of New Britain turns her head and everything else to my complaints and possible remedies. Everyone I speak with are at their wit's end with the noise.... This meter is absolutely the best one, very simple and accurate 👌.

quite simple for measuring how much noise is in a place. It also doesn't intrude with annoying ads. It's a great app worth trying at least.

I liked this app but I have to give it 2 stars while also uninstalling it. I use it for my baby to check the decibel level of their sound machine, when around music, etc. It plays ads that are extremely loud! Won't be using it again cause if it woke her up, I think I would chuck my phone.

Ok app but it is really frustrating that you "have an option" to turn off personalized adds but the app does not really allow that and makes you go trough the process of "choosing" if you want personalized ads or not over and over again untill you accept them.

I would agree with the other reviews that this app isn't accurate. Every phone microphone is different and the app cannot estimate it's balance. However, it is still usable. You can use this app to test for ear damaging sounds. But it does require some knowledge. A sound twice as loud is not twice as many decibels. It is actually 3 more decibels to be exact.

Same review as other posts, completely inaccurate. It's telling me that just sitting next to my computer, I'm generating 75db by talking softly with my phone about 16" from my face. For this to work properly, there would be to be some form of rough distance calculation, which I understand gets tricky, but without context the app is useless. Pros: Easy to use, nice interface Cons: Worthless for the core functionality

Great app, a bit basic (no choice of graphing display). Easy on battery life ! I used it to fine tune the noise in my sleeping environment. Note: If your phone is in a case, the mic may be obstructed and a false reading obtained. Remove your phone from it's case, or use an external microphone for best results.

It work as intended, the app is simple to use and does not bother you with constant ads, as for the accuracy of the measurements it will depend on the cuality of the microphone you have attached to your phone. Also it only goes up to 89db, which is the safest level before you start suffering damage to your ear drums.

So I wanted to run my surround sound calibration test tone using an SPL meter but couldn't see any reason to spend a great deal of money for such rare usage. This app was a great substitute for my brain's "calculation" of how many decibels were coming out of each channel. Regardless of accuracy in the exact volume being registered by this app's display, all I wanted was a consistent reading through the setup. Very useful!

The dial and needle is nice,we are all familiar with this type of indicator, it's easy to see and remember registered, just like when I looking at the speedometer in the car while driving. Moreover this sound meter app seems more accurate compare with other fancy looking ones. Thank you for let me use it for free. Highly recommended for casual use.

The app gives consistent decibel values when using it on my Pixel 2 XL, so the basics are solid. It's not my favorite, but I have Play Pass so I take advantage of how simple it is. 4 Stars: Considering it's not completely free, it would be nice to have some more features like logging or more control over the view. There are other completely free apps that give more detailed real-time information on the sound around you. It's consistent, so the dev certainly has an accurate start to build on.

Not terribly accurate, but that's to be expected. My Pixel 5 consistently read 10-15 dB lower than an inexpensive dB meter (BAFX 3370). At 100-105 dB, it read 88-92 dB, and at 45-47 dB, it read around 35. If you have access to a proper dB meter to get an idea of how accurate this app is on your phone, you could use the app to get a rough idea of sound levels when you don't have a meter on hand. The ads are very intrusive, so that's a bummer, but the app works about as well as it could.

not very accurate. it regularly posts levels around 20 decibels higher than actual. it is also not the easiest thing to read st a glance. I had much better success with the Sound meter App from "Creative Gigs". it posted much closer to the actual sound level, is easy to read, and actually tells you what the sound is coming from with decent accuracy. if the devs worked on these issues, it would be a much better app.

The app loads quick, but goes to an advertisement within seconds. The app should still run in the background during the non-sound ad, but nope. Tried to listen to how loud fighter jets were, as they took off, but NOTHING! The app wasn't working in the background, and even worse, it just locked up and wouldn't work at all. The developer put a handy button to reset it, but that's even more useless. While it does reset the split-second of info it registered before the ad, then app does nothin!

Meter works however there is no way my little battery wall clock is rated at 40db from 6 feet away. I worked in the music industry for 10 plus years I know how to apply audio settings and understand the correlation between levels vs. distance... even went as far as 15 feet away and minimal affect... Was worth a shot but it doesn't read accurately

First thing that pops up is a privacy disclaimer. No problem. I refuse all optional cookies and confirm my choices. Then an free (with ads) and a paid (no ads) option pops up. No problem I'll go free and watch a few ads. Apparently the ads don't like that I refuse optional cookies because I got stuck in a cookies/ad loop and couldn't even use the app. I guess unless you choose to let them share all of your information can you use the "free" version.

I like the simplicity and usefulness of this app, BUT.... The ads! I nt mind the ads if they will show up quietly, but the first one is quiet, and then one with audio shows up and the button to skip the video becomesslow to respond, this prolonging the play time of the video. I want to pay to stop the ads, but not sure if there'll be any additional value to gain...

Used to be good, but now it's useless. Upon launch opens 3 ads, 1 at the bottom, 1 that takes half the screen, and a full screen ad. When you close the ad sometimes it will still redirect out of the app after it closes, then when you return to the app it opens another full screen ad. It does not measure sound while a full screen ad is playing.
