Close to a viable voice assistant that uses gpt(4?), but quite flakey. Doesn't continue a dialog without constant "hey soundhound" reminders that you're still talking to it, sometimes doesn't read its responses, sometimes forgets the current conversation, etc.

I love that it has lyrics to the songs! I would totally give this a 5 star rating, but for some reason, every time I try to get into one of my Spotify playlists on it, the app quits working and all my playlists disappear.

I like how you can set it up to appear on a long middle-button press, without requiring resources to listen in the background. Great for quick unit conversions, flight status, population counts and even has SoundHound music recognition built in too.

Great app for identifying the title and artist of a song that is playing. If there are multiple versions of a recording, this app will even identify which one is playing. I couldn't get any success, though, with the hum-or-sing-along feature. Great app, but still has a few bugs.

It would be a great app, if it would allow for a dark/black theme and didn't attempt to steal all of your contacts' info. Would be one star, for the invasiveness, but the app isn't (completely) bad. I would recommend looking elsewhere until these features are incorporated/remedied, though.

What good is sending a text hands-free if it can't read replies? I used the competition, but I hate supporting an overwhelming monopoly or duopoly. However, I can't remember the last time this did anything useful. Play music? Pull over and work through some permission settings, then fail anyway.

After searching, and searching for a half decent voice assistant-- Hound wasn't it. Hound is amazing. It's extremely smart, questions can get very detailed, and it replies with a great a answer. Love that it works so well with SoundHound, although I will say, I wish it didn't have SoundHound built in, I kinda just wish it would give a more dumbed down version for the built in aspect.

One of the more promising assistants but shows that it heard exactly what you said, then ignores that and gives you results based on something different. And when asking for hours of a business, which has them listed online, it says it doesn't have them. Also, can't configure search engine. Needs some serious work to be usable.

It seems food so far. I would like to see it attempt to get to know the user better and memorize more things like maybe having the ability to tell it family members names and being able to make connections in contacts... but the main reason I'm probably not going to use it is the for awful voice. It has potential but I don't see it being anymore fun or useful than Google.

Useless app. The UI pops up with every hotword activation. No option to run completely in background. No tasker integration or customized commands. Wake up phrase cannot be changed and only one option. This app offers nothing you cannot get outside of google assistant Andriod phones already come with. What is the point? Why go through all the trouble of creating an assistant only to maintain the status quo?

This app used to be one of the best apps I've ever used. However, they decided to lock all functionality behind a paywall, where it used to be free for years. I don't approve of this move at all - especially since it prevents new users from experimenting and seeing what this app has to offer. You should, if anything, make different membership tiers, like a free tier and several paid membership tiers, since this is the route you chose.

I'm impressed with how bad this app is. Voice recognition works way worse than other chatgpt apps that I believe are developed by tiny dev teams. SoundHound always makes mistakes trying to recognise words. I cannot speak with chat via bluetooth headset. Settings of bluetooth in the app is just an empty page. First the app worked with phrase "Hey SounHound", but there is a setting that shoud allow you to say just "Ok" to wake up the app. I tried and it doesn't work. Support doesn't answer

Spends a lot of time annoying you with info about features you might not want to use. There is no way to disable this annoying behavior. Links with Spotify... once in a while that link actually works. Probably interprets speech, then changes what it interpreted to something else. Repeating what you said results in the same behavior.

Wow! Very fast app! Feedback: No smart home integration. Also, rock paper scissors is just a pattern. The app cannot be trained for personal responses. (hello, george) Also, voice activation needs improvement. Great start! I hope you can add the ability to open apps!

Thanks for the use of this app in Canada. Some additional apps for opening music would be nice. Like Amazon music and youtube music. Also the option to play downloaded offline music. Hound wont stop playing music when i ask it to. It says stopping but doesnt. Choice of maps for navigation would be nice. Like here we go and waze. Once hound opens maps to navigate, hound no longer reacts to my voice. Thanks for this.

Its ok and simple enough to use to be user friendly. But its not as customizable as I would like it to be. I cant change the default search engine. I cant change the default map for directions. I cant make my own commands and connect it with other software. It also doesnt hold a conversation well enough. For 2020 Im expecting today's AI assistants to far surpass the ones from ten years ago and to be atleast as customizable as Saiy was. the UI is snappy and easy to use. Keep working on it.

I absolutely adore the potential of this app. When it works it feels great and natural. However it has a problem of crashing constantly defeating the purpose of having it. I can't wait for an update so I can revise my review because I really want it to work. EDIT Ok so messing around with the permissions I've found that when given permission to access my calendar (Google), it caused Hound to repeatedly crash. Disabling that permission seems to allow Hound to run smoothly.

It was a great app for a while. It does cover a lot of functions I need it to do...saying that though there was a negative side for me...when I'm trying to have a conversation with someone if I am speaking in a normal register the app goes off all the time and starts recording what I am saying and then opening random web browsers. Other than that I like the design and functions.

Had to uninstall. It kept popping up asking me if I was driving even though the push notifications were turned off. If I want to use it, I'll turn it on. I don't need it popping up all the time. Imagine if every app thought that it knew better than me of when it should be turned on. I hate when programmers think that their app is so important that they continuously bug you to use it. Three stars as it seems useful. Just let me use it when I want to instead of forcing on me.

If you're looking to replace the google assistant unfortunately this isn't it, there is a lot it can to do. It can't open any apps. While it does navigate it does not let you change the default navigation app and only works on google maps ( which is a killer for someone trying to get away from google products) it also wants a subscription so that's something
