I've been very disappointed with the apps ability to identify songs. I probably have about a 1/20 success rate with the app. I will assume it is better at pop hits or classics, but for anything that is not recognizable to me (what I had hoped to use it for) it usually fails. Edit- I tried to leave some feedback like the company suggested but an error in the app kept occuring. Time to uninstall and try something new.

I've used this app for years, probably going on 8-9 years of using this app exclusively for music recognition. The past several months It hasn't been able to recognize any songs, even more popular songs. I can have my phone right next to the speaker and the volume turned way up and it still will act like it didn't hear a thing. I have had issues like this in the past but normally could retry it and it would work, but now it doesn't work at all. Extremely disappointed in this app.

I love SoundHound, I have had it for a very long time. Here recently it has been having issues with not finding the song or being able to connect. Please fix this problem. One thing that you could consider though is keeping a history log (some how) of the songs we get. I have lost a lot of them because there is no history log. I'm really starting to dislike sound hound and stop telling people to get it.I have been trying to get songs for a while now, alot of old ones & it can't get them. Plx Fix

There have been some great moments in the past with this app but not lately... it stops working with a message: sound hound is not responding. Not good. Freezes phone up completely and have to restart ... who would want to purchase a version of that? Freezing issue has gotten better... now the widget shortcut keeps disappearing from my homescreen for no apparent reason. Tried reinstalling it several times but it continues to disappear. Overall the app is good enough to keep despite dealing with the bugs. Update: once again after an update it is practically useless.. try to listen after identifying a song and it just circles and circles with no play...

My favorite feature is the live lyrics, which synchronizes with the song and highlights the current lyrics being sung. It's like a portable karaoke! Also you are not forced to create an account to use most of the major features. Listening to a sample of the song in your search history and links to YouTube are all wonderfully done. This is a great app, but it doesn't successfully connect to Spotify.

Sometimes it will take so long to work that the song ends before it is ready. It is way better at identifying songs than shazam though. But it doesn't keep a list of what you queried it for. You better have a pencil to write down the song information before doing another query. Recently, Oct 2019 it started crashing and turning off the screen so i reinstalled and guess what? Now, it cant hear music from the radio playing a foot away. Its become a waste of memory.

Edit: no longer works until you update. I mistook this developer for one of the good ones. || Second edit || THEY DELETED MY HISTORY AGAIN. Screw this app. Disregard my original review ahead || Edit: it doesn't even get songs right anymore. What happened?! || It works on a huge variety of music, and saves a recording if it fails. It never forces updates and works perfectly anyway. This is a robust, well developed app that works quickly and consistently. I wish more apps were this good.

I remember when SoundHound was great. It found everything! Now it doesn't even recognize a Michael Jackson song. Garbage. SoundHound listened to the same track and gave me 4 different results each time. Total garbage. Updated review. 10/1/19 Seems soundhound has fixed all the problems with the app. It seems back to normal. Still can't figure out how to add it as a short cut widget style that I had before.

I have had this app for about 13 years. My history is part of my playlist in a sense and my playlist describes who I am. One of my favorite features is tapping one button it listens to the song say in the car, then gives you the artists name , lyrics, title of the song, and the video . It recognizes the song in seconds. It will also give the same info if you hum a song! Love Soundhound !!!

I agree with a previous reviewer in that the app has gone way downhill. I've used it since smartphones came into existence, and it used to be the greatest app at recognizing music. Now, in the last year, it's become worthless. It hardly ever recognizes that a song is being played, and when it does, it's wrong. I just tried to name a Tori Amos song, but it kept coming up as Bruce Springsteen. I tried 9 times and it was right once. Please fix the app so I don't have to find a new one.

Used to work great for several years, now it doesn't. I tried to Un-install, and then re-install 3x, still no better. 30% of the time, I get a result that's correct. 30% of the time, I get the previous song again. The other 40% I get no result....frustrating đŸ€Ź. I just started using "Google Search a Song." It's very accurate, but more buttons to push to get a result.

The last time I used this App must of been over 10 years ago, thought I'd try this and see if anything has changed. I was wrong. An app that doesn't even identify music from two simple older TV music show intros, out of today's sea of media library files to search from, just the basics and still failed to find their simple titles. A simple music title request isn't always a finger touch away, and in today's technology, That's A Big Shame. And Yes,I'm Uninstalling This App. No Great Hype On My End

Used to be the best around. Can't even identify basic songs right anymore. Used to literally identify the most obscure songs you could imagine. Not anymore. Sad to see this app fall so far downhill now. Uninstalling at this point. Assistant does a better job. Wish this worked well still because assistant doesn't integrate right with Spotify like this does.

One of the best music apps around! I have been a SoundHound user for quite a few years now. It's my life in real time.....my ultimate playlist. Or it was. Until recently. My history became unplayable. I tried everything I knew to 'fix' the errors with songs connecting to and playing thru YouTube. Nothing worked. Every other feature of the app worked, no issue. I continued to use it anyway. It seems the latest update has fixed this ridiculously long run error.Fingers crossed it sticks.

It doesn't work. It misses obvious songs and can find nothing obscure. Google used to have a music search application that worked very well but they canned it just a very short while ago without any warning to their customers. Thanks again Google for nothing. This SoundHound application should also go the way of the dodo. Because it is almost completely pointless. Google is becoming completely irrelevant.

It's Gone Downhill... I thought maybe I was just trying to detect obscure songs, but when it didn't detect a song today, I decided to try a random edge screen app I saw, and it worked almost instantly! I have had Soundhound almost as long as I've used Android devices. It was the first of this type of app I had heard of. As others have said, it used to work, but it often doesn’t anymore. Now I wonder how many amazing songs I missed out on because I used it...

This app used to be absolutely astonishing (years ago). I didn't use it for a long time, but now it seems it can't even identify the simplest tunes. I thought it was my phone, so I waited and upgraded. Didn't use it for about a year after upgrading. Just tried again in a local bar, music and lyrics fairly clear,... all I get is couldn't identify. This used to work in even the loudest bar. Whatever you guys did over the last several years, you may have accomplished something, but not positive.

Deleted my entire song history going back 4 years after logging back into my account because the app logged me out. The song discovery function had started to go downhill anyway, but I thought it would be useful to keep as a backup to Shazam. So much for telling me I had "locked in my discoveries" starting from November 2020. Horrible experience, never again. I've learned my lesson and advise everyone to avoid my mistake in continuing to use this app.

Up till a few weeks ago, I was still using this app and loving it as i had for years. I could easily id a song and open it in my Spotify. It would show scrolling lyrics when the song was identified. Now, it won't open Spotify or do anything it used to. It comes up with the most basic info of the song and usually not even the version that im listening to. What the hell happened to this app. You devs are idiots and ruined a perfectly functional and informative app. All the best features are gine.

I loved capturing songs, instrumental and vocal, from snipits I heard on the radio when I started using SoundHound, I have been using it for years, and I forgave them for not having the older an eclectic material you hear on college radio and I was optimistic that their ability to identify jazz would improve. I misplaced those thoughts - I am looking to other apps now because identification of materials in those two categories has NOT improved.
