Its good in general, does the job and doesnt really have any ads. I like being able to customize the voice and i really like that its not childish and isnt infantilizing. My main issue is with the fact that i typically need this app when i am overstimulated, and of my ways of calming myself down is a pair of bluetooth headphones. To be able to communicate with words i either have to stop listening to music, ungrounding myself, or simply type out what i want to say. Good app, but thats frustratin

I'm adhd and autistic and struggle to communicate a lot of the time. This app is easy to use and customisable. I bought the full version as its worth it. Some potential improvements: An option to press and hold on icons to rearrange them Be able to split each category into mini categories/folders that could be at the top of each category. Like it would open all of the food category like normal but have folders at the top to click on if you wanted like takeaway, desserts, breakfast etc

super super usefull! I like that the backup/export files are text editable because it makes mass edditing (e.g. setting up a new profile) much easier. Also like how visually customisable it is. Would love to see more options for backup/export than just the catagory and phrases (color profile, settings, etc) for those of us who need to use it on multiple devices, and more support for external keyboard navigation (I cannot for the life of me figure out how to switch tabs with a keyboard!)

I'm testing this APP to recommend but only free version. The extras for the paid version haven't been viewed. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with the functionality of the basic free version. I would however love to see the visual symbol system to allow access to wider group. Otherwise, it appears simple, easy, without having to spend out on a huge system. I'll recommend to some with acquired language difficulties for sure.

I've tried a LOT of AAC apps and this is my favourite. I LOVE the option to show your message in large text to the person you're talking to. Love that you can edit, reorder, delete and add your own phrases. Love that you can (optionally) have suggested phrases pop up when you type. This app really does it all. It would be lovely to be able to drag-and-drop to reorder but I imagine that would add to the coding complexity considerably and it's not essential.

I've tested out a lot of these over time, and this is by far the best of the bunch for adult users. It is absolutely aimed at adults or teens without learning disabilities - there are no images, unlike most AACs, so if you're looking for an app to help someone who needs images, this is not the one you're looking for. The interface is simple to use, and so easily customisable it's unbelievable. After fighting with so many apps, I was utterly blown away by how simple this is. You can even colour code buttons in an unbelievable number of shades (not every colour imaginable, but a fair amount). And while the free version is limited to the number of phrases you can store, the fee to upgrade is a fraction of what it is for other AAC apps. There is even an option to turn the screen upside-down so that you can tilt it and show someone else what you have typed or selected! This is a great feature for communicating in a noisy environment, or if the other person is D/deaf of hearing impaired. Yes, you only get the option of Google's default voices, but that doesn't matter too much to me, and it keeps the licencing costs down. The only "downside" I have found is that, unlike other AACs, "Yes" and "No" are not automatically available on every screen. But it's so easy to customise, if a bit time consuming to add them to every category - especially if you're colour coding, that it's barely a downside at all. What a find!

I am autistic and have severe anxiety. This app offers a wider range of phrases than other apps I have used. It also has a much more "adult" feel to it than some of the icon-based apps. That said though, it can be confusing as all the buttons look the same (black text on a white background) although there are options to customise this. Phrases can be customised and updated easily on the spot. It is also very easy to control all features such as pitch, speed etc.

I'm autistic & had to go to emergency today. I have used this app on & off when I'm overloaded or just to keep the conversation flowing if the words get stuck between my brain & mouth. I've never had to rely on it wholly until today & it made wha has always been such a stressful & dismissive experience, just human. Was still panicked, but I was able to communicate with the staff & it legit got me what I needed so quickly. Am indescribably grateful to the creators of this app. Thank you. 🙏 💜 🫂

sadly, this will not download on my windows 11 laptop touch screen so that my stroke victim can use it. i needed the large touch screen instead of my tiny phone. will keep searching for better options only for this reason

I have now had the free app for almost a year, and used all the features. Very well thought out and user friendly. I am a speech impaired mouth cancer patient, and this is superior to other apps I tried. Probably worth upgrading to the not very expensive paid for version. Update - I am about to upgrade as it seems very good value. Excellent app.

I NEED "..." longer! HELP! Can it become the default "assistant program" on my phone? Could you make "space" one square, add an "enter" between it and backspace, and a smaller size for the keyboard buttons (everything got bigger on my tablet -- can that be fixed?). This app is wonderful for autistics. It helped me and others. I recommend it for parents to help their kids. It takes much work to adapt to your needs, but you will be using it committedly. Works on android phone and Samsung tablet.

I have used this for well over a year now, and I am installing it now on a new device. I am a semi-nonverbal autistic adult and this perfectly meets my needs when I cannot speak the words myself. I can quick tap out phrases or type them as needed. I am about to see if there is an export/import feature. If there isn't, I have Titanium Backup with root, but I hope there is. Thank you for making this free!

Great app. Have a week or so of vocal rest and liked the app enough to pay to upgrade. Couple of things tho: I have noticed it sort of supports SSML.. a lot of the google TTS SSML doesn't work. Do you have a list of things supported? Could you add SSML features (pauses and emphasis) into the app interface to be able to make phrases sound less robotic and more natural? Could you add some hot buttons for MP3 sound bites? I like the "Notification" option.. but being able to add a bunch of easily playable sound bites would be perfect. The app is almost there... these things would flesh it out some more. Great job, guys! PS: one other thing.. love that I can edit on the computer and restore the file! PPS: How about a backup option for *all* the settings in the app?

Exactly what I needed when I had laryngitis, did it's job great. Thank you big time to the creators for your assistance! The UI was friendly, but looks like it was made for Windows XP. A style that isn't confusing I know is genuinely difficult to develop when it comes to software, but it would help set this app apart. Also, no annoying bloatiness or logins like Speechify... I personally prefer this app to Speechify, because ify was more cumbersome than elegant. P.S. Lack of ads makes you king

The app is very good and easy to use, even in its limited free version. It's a great primarily text based aac, but i think two things should be changed. - Add a dark mode option to free users. I would say dark gray white text is a good alternative to the default button colors and dark mode for settings should be available too. - For paid users, even more custom colors for the personalized palette would be VERY appreciated. I want to make a purple layout. Hex code entering or smth.

I'm an AAC user with a brain injury, I am grateful it's so intuitive. I just barely downloaded it, & can use it. When customizing, if I could add more than 1 category to a phrase, it would really help. E.g when I modified "My address is_______)" it saved in "common" but did not in "Home." I need to either edit phrase again in "Home" or remember where I hid phrases. Issue for memory/concentration. Can this app use voicekeeper voices? If I can add multiple labels & use my voicekeeper, SOLD!

I never know when I may be non-verbal. Gone are the days when I would sift through tapes and cassettes for the right message, scrubbing through to get my point across. And while I might see such a thing through a sickly layer of nostalgia, the reality of being non-verbal is not nearly so forgiving. This app helps get the point across when I struggle with words. Saving phrases for later and sorting words to queue up when further explanation is necessary. Finding the voice engine and settings is crucial for intelligibility in stressful situations. I would recommend this to a friend in need.

Very effective, easy to use, and customizable. Does not contain pictures, only text. This makes it unusable for those who can't read. However, I prefer this app over the ones with pictures. As an adult who can read, the others typically seem geared towards children, and have phrases/ words that center on children's needs. I appreciate that I can add my own words, and that it has complete phrases in addition to the words. This is my go to app for the times when I am nonverbal. It's also free!

Really great customization options. Full version is absolutely worth it for the color coding and other extra features. My main gripe is how difficult it is to organize the different buttons, I'm dying for a simple drag and drop. Would be nice if the colors showed up in the reorder menu, at least. Thanks for a great app!

This app is really great for those with speech impairments, and I like that. I'm autistic and often shut down verbally, and this app has been a really great help with getting the words that I wanna say out should I be in a verbal shutdown, and it's been especially helpful in school (where I shut down the most). My only complaint is that a lot of the customization features are behind a paywall, but I understand why that would be necessary.
