How to use
First, download the Sport Clips app and create an account or log in. Don’t forget to enable your location settings to see stores in your area. Next, select the store you’d like—you can choose based on past visits, your location, or the shortest wait—and tap “Join the lineup.” Then, choose which Stylist you’d like for your visit, and for any guests who may be with you. Tap “Join the lineup” once more and you’re in!

What happens next?
Once you join the lineup, our Haircut Tracker will give you a live play-by-play of how long your estimated wait time is, how many people are ahead of you, and your Stylist’s status. This way, you can plan your travel time and go on with your day while you wait for your haircut. Enable location services so we can seamlessly check you in when you arrive with our Geofencing check-in, making your entry to the store efficient and contactless. You can also let a Stylist know you’ve arrived instead, or enter your phone number in the kiosk in the store to check in. We’ll let you know when you’re up next! If you lose your spot in the lineup, simply tap ‘Join the lineup’ again and check in once you arrive at the store.

Has anyone ever successfully checked in with this build of the app? Broken with networking problems, blocking threads on the map control (no, I am not in Austin, TX), random error/validation boxes, etc. I hope this is a temporary regression. In the time I spent fiddling with the app en route to a location, the queue length doubled. Very disappointed. I only know because I called and then compared the wait time to what was on the board when I got there. BTW, the wait time listed in the app was 0.

App is OK for finding Sport Clips location, and having a general idea of the waiting time. Also handy to sign in ahead of time. But a major problem is that the login is not stored, so you have to login every time you are ready for another visit. The problem is that the login page fields are not recognized by the auto-fill of password program like LastPass and BitWarden. It will not even let you copy/paste your credentials, which is terrible if you have a random long password of mixed chars

for what it is, it's ok, at best. there needs to be an added feature for just "neck" trims for the stylist. when they get 3-4 of those in a row, it throws the timing off. there desperately needs to be a countdown timer. it would also be helpful if u can preselect "beard trim", "shampoo", and "massage" to again, help the stylist know that specific client will take an hour and not 30 min. again, this helps with a more accurate timer.

Most recent update is terrible. Wait time used to stay the same following check in, but now changes over time without warning (sometimes goes longer, sometimes shorter). Estimated time of arrival is gone, so now a user has to calculate arrival on their own. The progress wheel is unnecessary. Why do I need to know when I'm "in store" and "finished"?? I'll know because I'll be IN the store and walking out when I'm done. Way too clunky, overdone, and scattered. Bring the previous version back.

Horrible app. Using android on high speed wifi, it just spins when you try to get on list. Wife using an apple at different location gets same results. Call in to store and they say it's not working for anyone and wait is at 86 min, but you have to go in person to get on list. No thanks, I'll get a haircut somewhere else!

You can do better with their online systems. The APP is not user friendly at all. From creating login, to the app malfunctioning, to the clients still having to wait in the lobby for extended periods of time, to not letting clients request a stylist before a start time of a specific stylist. (Maybe let clients request a stylist 30 minutes prior to them checking in for the day, when they start later on in the day) and lastly for the client to choose what services they want, like a check box.

The update sucks. Even after selecting my preferred location multiple times it STILL checked me in at the location it chose. It twice let me check in when the store was closed resulting in wasted trips. Fortunately I found a local place that's does a better job for half the price so I guess it worked out. No more Sports Clips for me

This app was fine and needed nothing to make it work. Now it is very slow. It times out trying to log in. When I closed and restarted the app I was already signed in. How? What are they thinking? No one wants a dysfunctional app on their device. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still slow. Now it also does not show wait times after you sign in to wait list. No idea where you are on the wait time or list like before. Terminate EVERYONE responsible for this disaster.

The new update takes me to Austin TX every time. I'm in Arizona. Even with an address typed in it. The new change doesn't offer saving your location or favorite stylist. I fear for each location and how many clients they will lose from this alone. Surveys for the stylists suffer due to the app alone. A client could have an amazing haircut experience, but this one and only thing (the app) will cause the stylist to suffer when they leave them a bad survey just from the experience of checking in.

I dont know what to say. If this is a new app developer for sports clips, please go back to the old one. Horrible connectivity. Doesn't show if I actually made it to the wait list. Freezes up after trying to get on the wait list. Then after trying again, it won't let me because I am already on the wait list. Had to call the store to verify. Please fix immediately. I have been a long-time customer of SC. The app comes I handy when working properly. The new look is very frustrating!

This app has always been bad but the latest update is horrendous. How this made it out of testing I'll never know. The app no longer let's you navigate around the map, stupid design decision. The location feature is buggy and frequently can't locate me (location permissions are on, tried wifi and data). The login prompt keeps telling me my attempt timed out with no other info so I can't log in. Probably the worst app I've ever had the displeasure of using.

Recently this app was updated. It went from a simple and easy to use interface, to a clunky and unintuitive app that is slow to respond and difficult to use. Another case of a company trying to fix something that wasn't broken, and making it entirely worse for the customer. I rarely write any reviews, but this new app is complete and utter garbage.

the updated app is terrible. the layout when you open it only shows you two stores, the closest and the shortest wait. in order to bring up the store I want to check in at I have to do a search. then once you check in, the screen uses dumb sports cliches and a stop watch to show where you're at. too cutesy. it's like a non sports fan made this by throwing verbiage they heard once. and worst part of all when you close out of the stopwatch screen, there's no way to bring up that screen up again.

The look of the app is cool, but the functionality is very poor. It doesn't show if I was confirmed with my stylist or keep track of my estimated time until I'm up. I had no idea if I signed up or not either. I almost just gave up and didn't go to sports clips, and I'm a long-time sports clips guy. Also, the wording of if you already signed up is weird.

This app leaves so much to be desired. From a login process that won't remember your credentials or offer biometric login to timing out constantly when attempting to log in, it starts out rough. But it gets worse. The app constantly logs you out, even when you've granted background permissions. It defaults to a location in Texas, even though you've granted full-time location permissions. And if you do manage to get logged in and attempt to navigate to the home page, it's just a spinning circle.

The algorithm is completely off. Multiple times I have had a wait time for a specific stylist, arrive at the store, wait my time just to see that time be adjusted to go behind a "first available" customer. For example, I waited the 20 minutes that was estimated for me today, I watched the time go down to 3 minutes. Then once that stylist was finished with her cut, my time then jumped to 33 minutes. Realistic expectations are all we ask for as customers.

The good: You can select a stylist and "join the lineup" for that person. The bad: App will show 1 person ahead of you with a 111 minutes wait time and even after coming into the store it showed a 60 minutes wait time with zero people ahead of you. App also doesn't know if the selected stylist is out of the building, as happened to me, or when the stylist will return. This app is a silly time-wasting toy of little value.

Every time I use the app it changes and won't let me check in. I update the app, but it doesn't always work. So I call to check in but stylists won't check anyone in over the phone. It's a 20 minute drive one way. I could save that time driving if the app was functional. Instead, I have to check in on arrival. I wish the app worked and would quit wasting my time. My time is valuable to me.

The older app was at least reliable. With this newer version, aside from it being clunky and other issues, the arrival time is too dtnamic. When the store is busy, I can't spend half a day adjusting my schedule to the radical changes in arrival time vs actual time elapsed. I'll still go when it's not busy and it's convenient but I'm going elsewhere more often now.

Update: the issues below appear to be fixed. Much better experience this time. The tracker, arrival time, and wait-list look good. The new app is awful. Clunky user interface, no confirmation of check-in, no way to view wait list, no way to know when to arrive. The old version of the app wasn't perfect but it was at least functional.
