Crime data is provided by police departments, sheriff agencies, news media. In some cases, data is provided through 911 CAD (dispatch services) and information may be updated at a later time.

I kept waiting for this app to improve but when the latest information on crimes offered is at least 8 days old, it doesn't do me any good at all. I had a second app running at the same time to compare the two and it would tell me what was happening currently; that information wasn't over a week old. USELESS!!

I really hate that there was a noise when I opened the app and so I'm really not interested in ever opening this goddamn app again until I can turn that off. Next, I'm really uninterested in using this app because there's no way for me to pay you a few dollars to get rid of ads. I am sure there are plenty of people are willing to pay you $2 or $3 to wipe away that stupid ad space from your app. These are really simple things that should be built into your app from day one.

Love that it shows me what's going on currently & that I can see past reports. Hate that if I move around on the map it simultaneously moves my location pin to wherever I'm looking at. Also, there is no tutorial or even much help in general for learning how to navigate the app.

Great except a lot of the crimes don't have a description. They have a question mark and say unknown. Also if you zoom out it only shows crimes in the very center of screen, about 10% of the whole screen. So I have to keep zooming out to know where I'm moving to and then zoom in to see crimes.

I think this is a great app, but it is not 'real - time' at least not on my phone. As I write this review, the crimes listed are two weeks old. If I need to change something in the app settings to get crime updates, I would appreciate someone telling me what i need to do. Again, Spot crime is a great app and I would recommend downloading it and giving it a try.

I've been using the SpotCrime website for years and this app worked great for a while, but I've had nothing but "internet connectivity" errors that render the app unusable for months. Nothing fixes the issue that I've found. Very disappointing.

Excellent app in keeping me appraised of the crime nearby. gives me a barometer, measurement of my neighborhood and the areas outside. with the perspective of what's going on around me especially in a new area. easy to use. Improvements I would appreciate is ability input data such as specific crimes such as robbery as opposed to that's time & date etc...

Not always accurate, such as the shooting it lists occuring near my rural residential neighborhood at townhomes on a street that neither of which exist but are actually nearly 15 miles away in the state capital. Not even close. There's no apparent way within the app to notify the developer of an error, so it just stays wrong.

Great App for crime check. I am using it for last 1+ month and very impressed by the email report feature. Will suggest couplemof things - 1) make the crime map dynamic load so users can just navigate freely. 2) add zoom in/out option on map. That will make the user experience much better. Thanks for creating and letting us use this amazing app. Kudos all the way!!!

Agree with a prior review, this app is incomplete. No ability to filter is a big missing feature. Then a bunch of big items are grouped into "Other" like "motor vehicle prowl" which would be nice to filter on. Randomly some event icons turn into a magnifying glass which then can't be clicked.

Wildly inaccurate. When putting in certain addresses, it gives you the stats for towns and cities anywhere from 50-60 miles away. Unable to search a certain radius.

I just installed this app. It doesn't search for addresses and tapping the icons on the menu bar does nothing aside from give an error message that force closes the app. I used to use the website and it was great but has been stuck in mobile view for years now. I wish SpotCrime could get some funding because it was a really valuable tool when it worked.

Just downloaded this app and saw it on Dr Oz So I am just learning about it. However....when I click on an incident and the police report pops up then after I read it I can't get rid of that report. If I hit the back button on my phone it completely shuts the app off and goes back to my home page on my phone. That's annoying!!! Then the very bottom box that shows all the types of crime icons only shows two rows so I can barely see the last row to the right. I am using my Samsung Note9.

Highly recommended. And easy to follow and identify demographics of the city were incidents and crimes are most likely to occur. Relatively safe areas are easily I.D on the map . The crime info is surprisingly updated in almost daily and relevant. Well designed interface. The app icon could be improved for a more balanced look ( a police blue light , a badge, or other). Overall, I am satisfied .

It does not want to start, always says internet connectivity error and I know I do not have any connection issue. I get good service here and everything else works except for their application. and it hasn't worked since I installed it so I'm going to have to uninstall it wait a little while to maybe they correct your issues then I'll reinstall it and if they corrected the issues they had with their application then I might write a more favorable review.

Inaccurate af!! Moves me all over the map stating that's where my device is located at each area it decides to move me, yet I'm on my couch. Not at all up to date. Wrong symbols on map. A fist for assault shows a hit and run when clicked. Another symbol I clicked near my home showed an address of an intersection 3 to 4 miles away. There's so much crime I know of that's not even on the map. Some of the ads are useful, some are annoying. This could be a handy app if all the bugs were worked out.

Highly inaccurate. For example, the numerics given do not always match up with the actual address range for a specific street. Secondly, there's false claims, specifically in regards to "shootings" or "thefts". If you want factual data, many towns/cities have crime data maps on their respective websites. Transparency is big nowadays, and this app isn't it.

A good start, but feels incomplete. It doesn't allow you to adjust the date range, toggle types of crimes, or change the search radius. It also doesn't have info for all agencies, so you may get no results in your town, or only get results for certain precincts in larger cities. It could be so much better, but in it's current state it's just not as useful as it could be.

Decent start of an interface. But effectively useless. You can't change radius(nor does it give you a visual representation of the radius). You can't filter out crimes that happened months ago, making it super crowded with junk. You can't filter on/off types of crime. You can't set alerts for types of crime or crime in certain areas. I'm unsure how this app fulfills or acts as a useful tool for any of it's purposes laid out in it's 'about this app' description.

The interface is terrible. It should just be a color-coded heat map of red to green for each neighborhood or district. Instead you have a bunch of random icons at the point of each recent crime, and these icons disappear or reappear when you zoom at varying levels. Complete mess to look at. It would also be nice to see general percentages as opposed to merely each individual icon.
