I love the fact that I can easily make a podcast andI can use the discovery feature to find other anchor podcasts, but I really hope wherever is put into that feature.unless I know the name of the podcast or the creator, they're incredibly hard to find. also, on Android the only way to successfully send a message is to do so from inside of an episode, if someone sends me a message and I try to reply that only goes through about 25% of the time. All of that said, it's still a wonderful app!

The app is super basic, which makes it easy. Maybe a little too basic for my taste. I was very disappointed to learn that my bluetooth earpiece was not a device I could record from as it is a very high quality piece of kit that has excellent noise cancellation and HD voice capabilities. Who wants to hold their handset to their head (a la talking on the phone) to make their podcast episodes? I know you can use other devices to make your episodes, but I don't have other devices yet :(

I had trouble finishing the set up and the error message wasn't helpful, it didn't tell me what I was doing wrong. It appears I was trying to upload and unsupported file type or something with my art but I changed that and now I am good to go. I find the recording super easy and have enjoyed putting this podcast together. The app makes it quite simple to do.

Did everything I needed it to do. Was a fairly seemless transition between the app and the desktop web browser. Only four stars because if you are trying to delete segments from within the recording the app, as well as the online version, doesn't delete them properly. It's almost everything you need. But id you need to remove sections best to export/download the audio and edit it in a different app.

I have been using anchor for a week now and it really makes the process of recording a podcast easy. Their selection of background music is nice and varied to fit the tone. I withheld one star though because I think the editing of the recording could be better. I wish I could delete a section and record over it to fix it. But other than this, it works great from my phone.

I love that I can do everything from my phone. However, the recording with friends goes pear- shaped after a few moments. The voice tracks bleed into each other. Anchor only gives you one voice/audio track to edit from with the two voice tracks ALREADY mixed. So there has been a lot of unusable audio content sadly. One way I've been able to troubleshoot is by keeping the recordings short and just having multiple, short recordings. Even then, it's still not 100% effective. Otherwise it is great.

If you're just starting on a podcast and want to have a bunch of free features, this def could be a starting point. Most of the navigation is pretty easy and the quality is decent. Now, to the things I don't like. One, that I can't have video with my show. If I have the means that should be an option. Also, while there are sounds available, a lot of them sound somehow generic and cheesy, especially the "hip-hop" ones. They are free but, still. Lastly, the editor could really use some work.

It work pretty well, picks up audio well, but what sucks is you can't lock your phone and blackout the screen, otherwise the podcast recording will end after about 20/30 seconds of that... it makes it difficult to record a podcast while having a busy day moving around where you can't leave your phone screen unlocked in your pocket. Please work on this! Other than that, pretty great free app to start your podcasts on!! 😊🤗👍

I love it, and I hate it. Quite often when I'm trying to record an episode it keeps glitching out making all kinds of unnecessary noises that screw up my audio. And then there's the times when I set it to record I start talking get a couple glitches and realized at some point it stopped recording. The glitches seem to have gotten worse over the past few months. Hopefully this is something that is fixed soon.

Anchor is one of the best apps I've ever used on Android. It is a fantastically designed podcasting app and has enabled me to express myself conveniently, and helped me make my thoughts available to others very effectively from what I can tell. I highly recommend it. Being able to reliably switch between modes is frustrating at times. Basically, I think the navigation needs a lot of work. But the service itself seems excellent!! 👍👍👍

I have been trying to record, and it will record what I am saying for about a minute or two, but then it cuts out and only has silence for basically the rest of what I had recorded. The sound quality is great, from what I was able to record of myself, but I am bummed that my whole segment won't work right. I have a Note 9. I have tried swapping headphones three times, and it has happened every time.

Anchor overall is a good app for people who are learning how to do a podcast, it's very easy to pick up and start using your phone to record has very good sound quality when recording alone in a room. Also background music is fine, I would like more different background sounds to choose from I've been using Anchor for more than a year, also since now being owned by Spotify my podcast can only be heard on Spotify, I would like to broaden my audience to listeners who are on other podcast apps.

The idea behind this app is awesome but the execution needs a lot of work. First, if you think you're going to record and then edit the audio to remove mistakes or silence, then save it as one audio file, you cannot. If you edit your work and save it as one segment, all of the segments will upload out of order and you will have to re-edit. You have to save as multiple segments. These will then also upload out of order and you will have to rearrange them in the app. This leads to the second issue: changing order is far too difficult and fiddly. I don't know how to explain it, but the only way you can move segments with any precision is if you move UP. Moving one segment down is impossible. Last, I HATE that I cannot turn off "bring to ear to record" b/c I set it off all the time. I just wanted to record some flashcards to study, but now I have to re-edit hours worth of audio because all of it is out of order. This app could be great, but it's not there yet. If none of this seems to be an issue for you, or if you just want to listen to podcasts, this app is absolutely for you. The interface is nice and the app itself is very intuitive.

This could easily change to 5 stars, but since the update you can't invite friends to record, if you have an android (I do) it kicks you out of the app. If you have an apple, it freezes and says "unable to connect." Me and my friends were just getting ready to start airing our podcast but now we're stuck because the app is going through some sort of glitch. Please fix ASAP

From what I've tested so far, this app is great. Awesome potential. UPDATE: Love this app. Makes podcasting easy, and auto-publishes to other platforms which is cool. Experiencing a few glitches, but it could be my phone (which is screwing up bad and getting replaced soon) and not the app. If you want to podcast, Anchor is THE app. Don't waste your time on other apps. UPDATE: I just lost AN HOUR worth of a recording!!! What the hell?? Come on Anchor.

I love the idea of making podcasts with only an app, and Anchor ALMOST as all the features you could possibly want. My only issue is that while you can upload your own music, you can't overlay it while you're recording -- they have music and transitions for that, but you can't upload your own...anything you upload can only be played in between your recorded segments. Other than that, this app is perfect. Edit: Shortly after leaving this review, not only did I get a response, but background music and sound effect uploading was added. This app is all-in-one and everything you could ask for! 5 out of 5

Horrible app. Very hard to use, extremely glitchy. Takes forever to change screens between the different sections and if you wish to work on an episode you have to press it multiple times and even then it lags. Many times the screen goes completely white and you have to restart the app. Even after restart it still takes forever. When ever trying to add audios to existing episodes or simply scroll down to see the list of audios already in the episode - takes such a long time you just wanna giveup

Horrible. Nothing loads. Nothing works. The app deleted every single episode and preview I had. Recordings don't save, if they do save you can't delete them ever, even if you dont use them and they are clutter. Customer service is a joke. The ap says I have no recordings, episodes, or trailers while the online platform lists all current episodes and trailers. There are bugs and issues galore with the online platform and the mobil ap not syncing up.

None of my podcasts even upload to spotify, I'd give it a 0 star if possible. The links don't work, it does not accept mp4 files which is fine because files can be converted but overall the app is just difficult to navigate and does not work in the slightest bit, it'll tell you your podcast was uploaded and then you click on the link or look it up and it doesn't even work I'm truely not sure what the issue is, maybe it's some sort of glitch? Who knows, the app does not work so don't waste time!!

It's almost an amazing app because it takes care of several things but the audio file editing is SO inconvenient and impractical, that it makes me feel like I'm back in the 90s. Editing them in the app is so difficult, that I no longer choose to use the app to record them and just edit them on a separate app and then upload. What might take you 2 min in another app, will take you 30 min in this one. I'd give 5 stars if the audio editor had practical tools and the interface was more efficient.
