It worked ok creating a post until I couldn't get the excerpt to "stick" (and the window for inputting excerpt text was grossly undersized and inhibited managing it), couldn't figure out how to put in post thumbnail image, and then couldn't figure out how to publish without editing and making changes to text. Wasn't a smooth experience. UPDATE Jan 12******* I don't have time to work with customer support, unless they're willing to pay me as a QA contractor, lol! But this app looks really great in terms of having whole site functionality and continuity, so great job Squarespace. I'm bumping up my rating from 3 to 4 stars to account for that. However, it's still a work in progress, so as users have noted, there are bumps in the actual nitty gritty - for me that was posting. I ran another test post and I had no problem uploading a post thumbnail image. I found the way for publishing a draft - it would be helpful if that path were more salient. However, I still couldn't get the excerpt to stick, and the space for writing is tiny, the design needs work. Additionally, the text highlight doesn't have handles for expanding/contracting selection, which is very frustrating when that's an ubiquitous function. All in all, there seems to be a great foundation and path in place, but I've experienced enough bumps during actual usage that make it less than a 5 star experience.

Easy and professional. Small learning curve. Definitely limited, but in an Apple sort of way. With a little creativity, you can make it work in their box, and it looks good. It could have more options, but it would be at the expense of having too big of a menu (like eating at an Applebee's. Haha.) I prefer restaurants with smaller menus plus fresh ingredients and every choice is great. Thats kind of like squarespace. Would definitely recommend for other beginners like me.

It flat out refuses to work. I can use the site easily to edit and post on my website, I thought the app may be helpful when I'm not near my laptop to make small edits or check my analytics but it just won't load and tells me to check my internet connection, my internet is fine and it does the same when I have my wifi on or off. It's really frustrating, the app is beyond useless. (Also, the fact that 7.1 designs don't have social media share buttons built in is seriously ridiculous)

Wonderful app & wonderful service -- everytime I think I reach a roadblock, I research for less than a minute to solve my issue. There ARE a few tiny bugs (like scroll-navigation in editor mode) when trying to edit on a phone with the app, but editing from a phone shouldn't be a person's primary source for editing anyways. (It's nice for editing styles and writing/editing text content)

This mobile app is pretty cool! The functions are basic which is exactly what I need to keep me focused with less options for distraction. I am able to move around from section to section revising and making edits on my website easily anywhere and anytime. I have not tried uploading anything using ths app (not even sure if that is a feature) but, that's next for me to check out. Overall, I'm happy

Love Squarespace as a website builder but the app is limited for what it would generally be used for. The app is not great to design web pages, so it would be better if the focus was on setting up inventory and discounts. However this function is very rudimentary. You cannot add variations to products, it forces your cursor to lower case after each letter of a product name despite the "all caps" being on, and you can't add discounts. Adding these would make the app more usable in a portable way.

The app is very buggy. I can't update some portions like the gallery because pressing the edit button just makes it blip on the screen and disappear. Also the app never opens to the home page. It opens to a random screen editing the quantity of a product which could affect my business if my finger were to slip. I love the web version but the app needs work.

I just started my website and I have to say this, the ideas for how you handle the blog editing and block placement is terrible. I thought I could edit my blog from my phone like I do for me Quora posts but it's impossible to do anything meaningful on the app! No context menu for inserting images or videos in between text, no history of post changes in case you accidentally delete something, and why does the dang style option get a whole menu but text editor is just some horrible mess?Be better!

I simply can not understand what the mobile app is useful for when adding product. Forms aren't available. Interaction within the app & mobile site is buggy/non-responsive at best. Selecting desktop site on mobile makes it worse. Buttons overlay buttons or don't fully appear. Zooming in or out when editing a page does not work. I've waited days for troubleshooting "help" that wasn't. Get a computer if you want to succesfully manage your site.

They fixed the most recent bug in the app but things like that should be better tested before roll out. They need to separate the commerce and editing functions. When I click on an item to get details instead takes me to where I can edit the product. Update: I can't edit text from the app. I seem to have to option to edit just about everything else. Very annoying!

I came from a year of Wordpress, which was good and bad. It was an open field where everything is possible, but with you yourself having to keep the plugins running and the pro versions paid up. Squarespace gives me the freedom to just work on my website, choosing the layout and writing the content, with extras integrated if I choose them, like email campaigns and appointment scheduling. It's quite liberating. I can highly recommend it.

As a photographer, Squarespace's performance is completley unacceptable. After mandatory/opaque image compression, load times are still in the minutes for pages with 20-30 images (on a 100mbs connection) - even then, only a thumbnail loads which is a pixelated version of the actual image. Other features such as site editing are just as buggy as they were five years ago. Features for older sites are not maintained. This is a failing platform, I wish they made it easier to migrate off of it.

Commerce integration is trash. Squarespace app DOES NOT alert me to new orders upon arrival. I have to go looking for them. Went to update the notification settings to change that, but it's not an option. Items show up double in the order. So lets say they ordered 1 item, it will show 2 and you have to verify the amount paid to identify what was actually purchased. Fix this. Stat. Messing up my daily flow.

I checked the reviews before I downloaded the app and b/c of the capacity in which it takes to truly build a website, I personally prefer to do bigger edits on the actual Squarespace website on my PC and do small edits through the app. it's more seamless and less stressful for me. I think that's where a lot of people get confused and assume that this app will be completely all access and all functional & completely mobile when it's not. there's a few features that aren't available mobile wise

Garbage. App crashes all the time and even though it's supposed to be a mobile app, the photo editing feature for blogs cuts off half of the editing functionality on the right. Plus, blog posts don't actually publish, even though the app SAYS it is published, when you do it from the app. Nice work Squarespace 👍.

Edit for Squarespace: Your app is unstable and crashes on the latest official Google devices, with no other apps running. This is not a troubleshooting error. Actually try reading the review before auto replying. -------- Original: Used to love this app, but now it is so bugged out it's unusable. I even installed it on several android devices (including the latest Pixel phone) and it crashes constantly and cannot properly load or edit pages. If and when this is fixed, I will update my review.

Seems to be completely useless for creating and editing your site. The app does not want to work right with pretty much anything. Not sure if it's a buggy update (I just downloaded it so I don't know how it was before) but it keeps freezing, nothing seems to work when I click it, the app just doesn't work in almost any way.

If you're intension is to use this to sell physical products, don't bother. Adding products via this app is so stripped down that it's useless. You can't add shipping criteria via the app, which makes the products you add via the app unsellable, as well as about 15+ other parameters including SEO, web address naming, variants, keywords, taxes, and the list just goes on and on.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I used to love Squarespace and was even a circle member. Now, the more "improvements" they make, the worse it gets. The app is beyond basic and glitchy. The design options are lacking. The customer service is non-existent! Also, I have been waiting almost 40 days for a payout. I'm sure they'll jump on and say a ticket has already submitted, and yes, it has with over 30 emails, incompetent responses, 10 different agents, and still no resolution.

Awful mobile responsiveness. Squarespace designed responsiveness to break up words extremely unnaturally. Imagine your first split-second customer impression being botched by a few trailing letters on the headline of the homepage. Why? It's not that you can't spell or didn't test the site on multiple devices as well as the native desktop/mobile toggle. No, it's that Squarespace developers thought it was a good idea to break up words letter by letter, and one device slipped past your tests.
