This app used to be perfect but the last couple updates are absolute downgrades that render it practically useless. The app is now very buggy and does not work more than half the time you try to use it. The friends list and chat features should not have been removed and made into another app when it used to work fine on this one.

This is the most difficult thing to ever log into. After you put in your email it send you a code. While typing the code it will mismatch the numbers around so you can never get it correct. Also if you keyboard goes away you have to restart the app and restart the login. This is my 5th time trying to get past just this stage and it is impossible.

If you say and claim fixing any login issues then your lying. I experience them both on the mobile and PC apps. On the mobile app it does an infinite and repeating "email verified" yet it doesn't work(This is for account creation) because it just resets account creation. On the PC, Captcha glitches and says it doesn't work and that's been an issue for years. I hate that these bugs seem to pile up ontop of one other, and I am not able to make an account whatever way possible. Please fix these.

I enjot steam, truly do. I do not enjoy being forced to use Chrome browser to open links. I have never and will never use chrome, however Steam INSISTS on requiring chrome to open links. My default browser is firefox, and has been for years. Yet, somehow, there is no way to change default browsers in steam. So either get used to using chrome or hope your email doesn't link you back to the app for a killer feedback loop!

Tried to purchase a game through the app using PayPal and it would just constantly fail to even login. Just open an external browser window instead of trying to open everything in the app. The in-app browser is terrible and fails most of the time when attempting to intercept links to games on Steam. More often than not it gets stuck on one and won't open any others without being completely closing the app and trying again. Just use an external browser so that things can actually work. Thanks.

The mobile app is not as good as it used to be. while viewing my profile, the screen loves to scroll up to the top. I have to carefully swipe a certain way to go down. also a lot of times the store glitches where there's nothing there, it usually happens when I go to a certain game. Edit: I wish that I'm able to view my movies through the mobile app too.

*Edit: Nothing has changed since the original version of this review a year ago. Way to go people.* Latest update broke the app for me. I use the app for two things: seeing who's online and messaging. Can't set friends as the default view any more and the message section now takes you to a view that tries to resemble the pc version, which makes using it on a mobile device darn near impossible.

Utterly useless. Extremely slow to load any page. Unresponsive, buggy, can't scroll down on some pages without it jumping to top instantly, the swipe navigation you are forced to use skips items, constant crashes, out right crashed my phone on more than one occasion, drops connectivity . Not even going to touch on the login issues. Has been terrible since day one and has only gotten worse.

Usable, but annoying. Freezes and crashes often. Some community pages are still not available in a mobile-optimized format. Video player is clunky to use. Product carousels in the store scroll too fast when swiped. Sometimes the app exists or returns to an unexpected page on back gesture when it intuitively shouldn't. External links only open in Chrome. General interface glitches all around.

This is a joke, right? Everything about the app is worse. I've been trying to give it a chance but you can't even maneuver through the interface without in immense amount of redundancy. It'll take 4-6 presses to get to the store homepage, and you'll see the same page several times trying to get there. Horrible experience. Constantly redirected off of discussion pages and losing my text. My cart on the app and on desktop aren't synced for some reason and the community market is awful.

The UI is basically useless for navigation. Most of the UI is side-swiping tiles for games. Only 1.5 games are in screen at a time, but the sensitivity and acceleration are so high that a tiny swipe sends you 2-3 games forward in the list. And it's difficult to precisely move forward just one. Then, when you have gotten into a game page but decide to go back, sometimes the back button on nav bar just exits the app and there's no way to get back to your search where you left off. Very frustrating

App is nice to check out games when not at my desk, but I always have issues, it seems. App taking forever load even with good connection, half the screen being blocked by a Grey bar, tapping on something multiple times before it opens, and a few other issues. It's been this way for at least a year, so I have no idea of or when these issues will be resolved. My internet speed is fine to, so I can only assume it's the app.

Used to be much better. Got rid of options to have videos not Autoplay. I don't want to watch a video first thing, and especially if it uses data. Scrolling is too sensitive. I barely touch to scroll sideways and I'm twelve games down, and can't see what they were. I try to go back from any screen, and it exits the app. I have to go back to the main page and re-search to get to what I was trying to find. In the end, it needs a bit of work. I like the layout, bring chat back to one app.

Every link has been broken for years. Steam FORCES itself to open for ongoing links, not letting me use Firefox or another browser that actually works, and it never even opens the links, it just sits on the homepage or whatever was open last. Outgoing links flat out ignore you. 1/1000 times the link will randomly load 10 minutes later, but it's almost guaranteed nothing you click on with a steam URL will ever show itself in this garbage do-nothing app that disabled the android browser chooser.

Permanent Grey screen. No idea why. It was working when I last used the app. Now I cannot do anything. Cannot confirm trades. God help me if I ever need to use the app to log into desktop app. Being locked out of my game library because of a faulty program that was billed as improving account security would be a kick in the nuts. Anyway to disable 2-step authentication? I really don't want to rely on this app for access to my 20-year game library.

Beware changing your password on PC. The mobile app will suddenly start opening with a grey screen and you won't be able to get back in if you have 2FA enabled. I had to essentially run through an obstacle course in which the captcha told me I was wrong on repeat. Very scary when there's all my games at stake. This is such a major bug that this app deserves the lowest possible rating until it's fixed.

PLEASE UPDATE THIS APP The steam app used to be fine, but right now, it's nearly unusable. They've added some cool updates over the years and made the steam app look pretty nice. But the state the app is in on Android right now is just unbearable. It constantly crashes when you open it or use it in any way. Usually, I can't even get to the thing I opened the app for because it has already crashed. Seriously, there's no reason for this app to be this unstable. Please fix.

V3.7.7 The workshop portion of this app is atrocious. Links will either open in the steam app, open a link in Firefox, or ignore Firefox completely and go to Chrome. Any images in the description are cut off on mobile as well. And since we're unable to get a link of the page we are currently at, need to start from the beginning on the web browser. The back button someone's goes 1 page back, other times it goes to the store page

Lately, if you close it, you run the risk of it never loading when you open it again. It will just display the steam logo for a second and then flash away to a grey screen and repeat this indefinitely. Besides the authenticator, there's really no point for this app. Either add in the ability to do more with it or just dumb it down to just the two-step verification.

Just doesn't work sometimes. Presently can't set it as my 2 factor, it (from the app) tells me I need to install the app, and sends me to the play store ostensibly to install... Itself, which of course isn't an option from the play store. If I try to click done, it just silently fails out. I eventually figured out that there is a second place I had to go to set up the 2 factor, which worked, but the ux was awful. Presumably this is because most of the app is just a web browser.
