More About SumSudoku: Killer Sudoku

Play a crossover variation of Sudoku and Kakuro! SumSudoku, also known as Killer Sudoku, are addictive logic puzzles best described as a cross between Sudoku and Kakuro. Using pure logic and simple add/subtract calculations, these fascinating puzzles offer endless fun and intellectual entertainment to puzzle fans of all skills and ages.
Each puzzle consists of a 9x9 Sudoku grid containing areas surrounded by dark borders. The object is to fill all empty squares so that the numbers 1 to 9 appear exactly once in each row, column and 3x3 box, and the sum of the numbers in each area is equal to the clue in the area's top-left corner. In addition, no number may be used in the same area more than once.

The game includes helpful features such as showing possible sum number combinations in an area and pencilmarks to make temporary placement of numbers in the grid. To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.

Very good, doesn't have any adds or those weird pay to win things many apps have. Solid design and UI, puzzle packs are reasonably priced and well designed. It does exactly what it's supposed to, a cut above most of the trash that infests the app store.

They don't make any attempt to teach or explain advanced solving techniques. If this is your introduction to killer soduku, medium puzzles will be unsolvable without using cheats/hints. Puzzle pack pricing is also exorbitant.

Pointless update. UI contrast got worse, old version was better. UI = buttons with digits. Developers' claim that it was necessary to support dark mode is ridiculous.

Listen, I find something new and I download other companies apps and I choose which I like the best after playing each of them for a little while. This company is the best. I appreciate the way the game plays, that there are no ads and there are lots of options if you choose to buy more packs, which I do. I've found this killer version of sudoku, which until two days ago I had never heard of and I'm really enjoying that now. I just finished downloading every game that they offer. THANKS!!!

This is my favourite puzzle app. Clean, logical interface with challenging puzzles. Very addictive; I only play the Killer level and the pleasure of working out the solution makes the price of the add-on packs worth every penny.

Recentl update makes makes the bottom numbers harder to see. Game is good though In response to the app comment below. The font and coloration has changed. It is much harder to see now. It's a terrible change that needs reverted

I love Sudoku and Kakuro; what an amazing way to combine them together! I feel like I'm pretty proficient at both of the afore mentioned games, but mashing them up like this has really added a new layer of complexity which I love even more. The tools available to track and identify possibilities are incredibly helpful. However, as many others have noted, being able to cross off known combinations that are not possible would definitely improve the game even further. Well done, Conceptis!

this game is super addicting and I play it daily! been playing for 8 mos now and still looove it!!! I had a difficult time finding something similar once I exhausted the free levels, so I paid the $1.99/difficulty and it was a very good purchase. it keeps my mind going and my brain working. I can start a puzzle and finish later bc it auto saves.

Puzzles have a good range of difficulty, from easy to quite challenging. The "sum" tool saves you a lot of laborious calculation without taking away the challenge of puzzling out the solution. The first 90 puzzles are free; after that you can buy more at a very reasonable cost ($0.06 each).

I love this game and have been playing it for a few years. When I recently upgraded my phone, I was getting a recurring error when trying to restore my progress. The support team has since resolved the issue, for which I'm eternally grateful, but I have to give a huge shoutout to Dave specifically for being so responsive, kind, and helpful in our emails discussing the bug and possible fixes. Thank you!

This is a fun game, but I wish there were more free puzzles. There are 3 difficulty levels, and you get 30 puzzles for each level, plus a weekly puzzle, & can buy more. One big issue I have is - I use game launcher & for the last few days, this game is ALWAYS shown as my most recent played game, and shows I've played it for all 24 hours of the day - even if I havent opened the game at all. That can't be good for my battery or data - will be uninstalling due to this.

Good puzzle game, the pencil marks system is excellent. No ads, no extra chaos, just good logic puzzles, with good ramps of difficulty between each level set. I love that part but.. Wish I could change the colors- pale yellow on white is difficult, at best, to discern, especially with no dark mode. Lowering the screen brightness only makes the yellow even more difficult to see. This is painful at times. Otherwise this would be an amazing game.

I love the game, the app, and the puzzles. I just wish there were two features. One, the ability to cross out the sum possibilities. This would help tremendously to visualize things better, especially for the hard puzzles. Two, I wish I could scroll the selected square with my thumb on the blank area of the app (I have a Galaxy 10+, which makes it a really big reach for the squares up top lol)

Excellent game and interface. One suggestion after playing a long time: excluding sum combinations should be in the undo records. If you exclude a combo due to a number placement, then undo that number, the exclusion is still there. I guess, while doing a chain of undos, you would want to take the user to that combination screen to show that it's being undone too.

This game is great and has just gotten better over time. The few things I was missing in gameplay I either found were already there or got added over time (such as auto filling pencil marks and crossing off combinations). My one remaining suggestion would be to offer different colors to show selected numbers. The yellow on beige combo is super hard on the eyes at times.

I appreciate that there is enough free content that you can enjoy the game for a while without being pressured to drop money, and also the paid portion is split up by difficulty so you're not stuck with a billion Easy puzzles that you'll never play. I appreciate the quality of life features that remove some of the more boring parts of the game. So many sudoku apps have this weird 3 strikes rule, this app just allows you to hit undo if you tapped the wrong area of the screen.

Best killer sudoku app! I love the ability to show sum combinations, which saves me ton of time. A lot of people complain about the price of one puzzle set. I don't think we are able to remember the pattern of these sudoku puzzles. So I replay the same set for many months, and purchase new set once a year.

Love this game and others by this developer! Different levels for different moods, easy to just about impossible. Couldn't be better! Thank you guys! Been playing for many months since last review. Still superb. Conceptis Games rocks. Thank you guys again! The game is as challenging or as easy as you wish. A game level for any mood. I keep coming back to this game. I have played it for years and don't ever get tired of it

Good UI, easy to play. Would like to be able to customize background/number colors, but the default isn't bad. I especially like that it shows sum combinations - in addition, it would be nice if crossing out a possible combination also removed the pencil marks for numbers that are now excluded, rather than having to go back and remove them from each square. The long press to place numbers digit-first is also nice, though I wish there was a toggle to make digit-first default. Still good app 👍

My favorite killer sudoku app! I love how it shows you the possible umber combinations for each section, and allowing me to cross out combos that I know won't work. Only thing I wish was that it would have daily puzzles with a streak tracker, and something to show how I compare to other players on each puzzle. Adding events would also make sure I log in daily! Oh, and please allow us to customize our colors 😭 yellow on beige is sooo hard to see
