Useful the few times I needed it for camera view to help try and keep from working in too much direct sunlight in a partiallytreed area. Will keep it and use it in the future for checking garden sunlight timing based on position. Ads aren't too bad for the number of times I needed it.

I bought the sun locator pro before it was turned into a subscription app, and suddenly stopped working. I reached out support, provided all the proof of purchase they requested. It's been over 15 days already and haven't heard from them even when sending follow up messages. Don't risk your money, they don't provide support, they only say they do until they start ghosting. There are better online FREE websites and apps that do the exact same tricks.

This app has everything I need to know about the location of the sun. Camera view, map view with shadow indicator, time travel, can save multiple locations. Everything is available in the free version. Easy to use. One drawback: ad free version is very expensive, I can't afford it and there are a lot of ads.

The app works well but is riddled with the world's most annoying ads, with the tiniest imaginable buttons to close them. The subscription fees to get rid of the ads are also ridiculously high, considering how little ongoing support the developer has to provide - its not like they're recalculating the details for the sun every week. There's no justification for charging ~$8 *per week* just to get rid of the ads. Not recommended.

Ridiculous scam. The app does not even let you try out the basic features before "subscribing" to the "free version". There is NOTHING IN THE WORLD that would justify its weekly subscription price of 7 Euro per WEEK. Mind you, that is substantially more than the subscription of even Adobe Photoshop, or three times the price for the entire Microsoft 365 suite per year. Google should ban this app immediately!

Ad spam (Edit: Hello, it looks like you are trying to provide customer service. Have you tried 1) carefully re-reading recent user feedback about the silly levels of ads, and 2) making meaningful changes to the product that resolve the issue. I'm sure if you follow these simple steps this review can be improved. Thank you)

The app is literally unusable. Wherever you click you get an ad. Moreover, it's impossible to close the ad with the X in the corner after it did its thing. Tried with fingers, tried with an s-pen. There's no reaction from the app whatsoever. Don't be "We're sorry to hear...". It's pathetic.

Changing from 5 stars to 1 star. I was using the app 'Sun Locator Lite', and it was running great without any ads or loading issues until I updated it, and all of a sudden, the app started showing ads! And if I turn Wifi off, the app takes forever to load! I have no issues with the developer putting ads, but what was free(lite version) without ads to begin with should have remained ad-free moving forward. Disappointed. And don't bother giving bs reply "we're sorry you had a bad experience" etc.

Recent update RUINED this previously 5 star app. This is now an app for ads with the ability to see a sun locator map thrown in. Ads ads ads ads ads. Way to go devs. Uninstalled. UPDATE: Replying to Devs: You don't get it. This used to be a fantastic, feature limited, free app. You turned it into an app of ads to force users to pay for the premium version. Shame on you.

Very cool app. Just checked it out to see where sun would rise and min would set, and it was REALLY close to actual in the camera view. There is an option in the app to calibrate my phone compass, and after I took about 20 seconds to do that, camera view was exactly correct. Going to hopefully use this to pick out a great house location with best views of sunrise and sunset.

The Lite version used to be just feature limited, but still good enough for basic use. Now I am blasted with full screen banner ads with audio, persistent banner ads, and an option to subscribe at a ridiculously high price. Thank you for ruining an otherwise decent app, and making it an easy decision to delete it and use use one of the many alternatives.

A great app ruined by recent addition of constant fullscreen ads. Ad-free premium version is $15 PER WEEK!?! I would pay a $15 one-time fee for lifetime access. Maybe even $15/year, though I would consider that expensive for what you get. $4.99/year seems about right. If you are able to justify $15/week based on objective criteria, I'd be very interested to have it explained to me.

It says it's free but not usable without an upgrade. The date isn't changeable without an upgrade, so not good for planning ahead and the current date is incorrect, so pointless for using it today. If they'd just put a price on it, it would be understandable, but as is, I feel lied to by the promise of a "free" app. If possible I'd give it a -5 for wasting my time and false advertising.

The advertisements in this app are the most obnoxious and intrusive out of any Play Store app I've used since 2014. They play sound, take up the whole screen and make you wait to X them out. I'm also not a fan of the removal of the moon phases. It was cool having both sets of info. If you want to solicit people to pay for a subscription, this is not the way to do it.

Won't let you just use the free version. Requires you to subscribe for the free trial then cancel. No thanks EDIT TO RESPOND: I don't WANT your "premium" features. I want to actually try the app out before deciding if I want to pay for more out of it. You ONLY offer the free version if you sign up for the trial first. Second edit for equally stupid response: Again THERE IS NO WAY TO ENJOY THE FREE FEATURES WITHOUT SIGNING UP FOR THE TRIAL. YOU CAN NOT SKIP THE TRIAL OFFER.

long advert videos make it impossible to test the app in trial mode. E.g., a 30 second video ad that plays before using the app for 5 minutes, So just know that if you are not already familiar with this app's functionality it will be difficult to try it out with the many interuptions. I edited this after the developer's tone deaf reply. I see now the app was sold and the new owner is only about revenue. Stay away. Developer replies again, but hasn't read the post.

Can't do anything without terrible ads. My Pro version I used all these years no longer has working maps I'm so mad. Just when I needed it on my vacation for train photography. Now you want an expensive subscription so people on disability like me can't afford it. $14 a week is absurd. I hate these subscription models. They're a cash grab. I pay enough for streaming services like Hulu and HBO max. Now app devs want subscriptions

App works really well, I just wish there was a way to remove ads without paying $15/ week for the Pro subscription. I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that subscription adds enough additional features to make it worth $60 A MONTH, but I don't want those features, I want the free version without ads.

I purchased the (one-time purchase of $3 or $4) ad-free version of this app many years ago. I guess the app design was purchased, and they basically copied the app into this new version, which is trying to charge a subscription for no ads. At $15 per month! Previous users should be grandfathered in to no-ad version for free... I will be finding another app to use.

I have used this app for the past 4-5 years. I've loved it so much that I've purchased the Pro version. Especially the terrain simulation has been a game changer. However, since the ownership of the app has changed hands, the quality of the app has plummeted. The best features have been removed, and the ads have become obnoxious. It costs more per week than other apps charge for a one-time purchase. Save your money, and use something like Sun Surveyor, Sun Postion, Sun Seeker, or Photopills
