Purchased app to help in selection of our new home - seeking best aspect for living summer and winter. Has done the job brilliantly and so easy to use. Recommended to a friend - his challenge was to identify shade cast by tall trees on a roof he planned to install solar panels. Trees have subsequently been lopped and solar now provides year-round sun! It is an amazing app that everyone should install! Love it!

I love this app, so handy for planning future golden hour photography. If you are composing a shot before sunrise its super accurate to have the sun rising where you want for timelapses. If you're going on holidays and want to plan your shooting locations ahead its accurate with Google maps. Loads of other handy features, its my favourite photography app.

Upgraded to full version after using the free version a couple of times. The only improvement or fix I want is to display the current sun/moon time on the other side of the pathline/time because they are overlapping each other and making the current time unreadable, please. Thanks.

Love the app. Been using it to find the perfect garden with the perfect ammount of light in an urban environment. Would be nice if it would be possible to manually (eg by dragging gesture) apply a compass correction on the 'Sun path' interface. Most phone's compasses are rather un precise so the sun path on the image (eg the sun itself) does not overlap the video overlay so one has to imagine where the path should be shifted to. Nevertheless, this is a great app an I am happy to recommend it!

I've enjoyed using this app. I mostly use it to find the sunset time, which is an important thing to know when heading into the New Zealand bush, especially at this time of year when the days are short and the temperatures are cold. Knowing this enables good decision making so that we can get to where we are going in daylight. That makes all the difference.

I run a fb group called 'Hardy Tropicals Gardening', where we grow exotic plants well outside their comfort zone. In order to get best survival rate, knowledge of sun and shade is critical. This app really takes the guesswork out when siting sensitive plants. In spring I grow shade plants to their maximum size, but in late summer/autumn they have to be cut back to allow winter sun. It is quite difficult visualising how low the sun will be in winter during August, and this app is perfect 👍

Wonderful help for planning my garden and allotment in the winter months, identifying places that will get full sun and partial shade during the growing season, and selecting the varieties of vegetables and flowers accordingly. Very useful in the summer months to know when it will be light enough to do the watering and cool enough to move. I like photography and I try to stick to the 'golden hour' for walks so I get the perfect light if a a scene presents itself. Great app.

I used the free version for several years so I decided to support the dev by paying. I'm happy with all the functions. It's great that Google Maps was added. One function I'd hope to see is a guideline for e.g. sunset. I often want to search for a good place to see the sunset. So let's say I want to find the best position to view the sunset behind Mount Fuji (famous). If I had a guideline the would stretch the opposite side of the sunset position it would be easier to determine where it's good.

Amazing app. The feature to look at the sun path for today along with summer and winter solstices at the same time is the best. Can't believe I hadn't upgraded from the free version for so long. You are really not advertising this feature properly in the free version. This app is extremely useful when building or buying a house. You can clearly see which windows and doors of your house will see the sun along the year.

I love this app, following the sun and comparing it with other latitudes; contrasting the extremes of sunrise and sunset at the solstice; seeing what the moon is up to; looking at the map. As a small boat sailor, it's good for planning ahead - what time will the sun be setting a month or so hence; will there be a moon if I don't make it in daylight. I'm a bit nerdy - it's great fun to use!

Nice and clear interface. The only problem I see is that the sun/moon path not stable at all. For instance, I can point the camera to the sun and the predicted current position aligns right with the actual sun position, but if I rotate my phone say 40-50 degrees to the right, the calculated path moves almost rigidly, moving the estimated sun's position and trajectory several "hours" off the actual. This is quite a major problem, it defeats the whole point of augmented reality

Yeah brilliant. Once you enable Google Maps the accuracy is pretty much bang on. Super handy for all sorts of things. Planting trees, vege garden posittion, pruning trees, planning the orientation of your home, best place to pitch a tent ! to name but a few. I used it for tracking sun strike through office windows over a year to confirm the correct decision for shade placement. PRO version of course but $$ well spent.

Very cool app to track the movement of the sun. I do however want to ask the developers if they can add a function to stop my phone screen from going off while I'm busy holding the phone and checking the sun positions. It is quite irritating to have the screen go black after a few seconds while I'm busy and then having to unlock my phone to continue.

Very nice but it is very hard to read the Red font on satellite view which I must use for determing best time to take drone shots. You either need to change the color or give us the ability to set the color for the Sun track/path. Red is fine for a non satellite image but I would have to believe 95% of people use the satellite view.

Doesn't plot the sun path accurately enough for solar panel placement. Pretty good error between where it says the sun is today compared to where it actually is. My phone's (Motorola z2 force) compass works better in portrait than landscape but either way is not accurate enough to determine where shadows will be. It would probably be ok for a photographer or someone wanting a general idea of sun position. For an app I paid for, I'm disappointed.

I'm using this to plan raised beds under an old-growth canopy. I like the sun path view, especially being able to specify a date range. Still trying to figure out what all the lines on the map view are useful for. The reason this is not 5 stars (yet) is because sun path view only works from "current location" & updating current location seems dependent on direct interaction w/Google maps initiated from map view; this is time consuming. It'd be nice to be able to specify a location in sun path.

This is a great tool. I initially got it to visualize sunrise and sunset paths for photography, but have since used it to site a small solar project. More recently, I have discovered the "locations" and "events" features, which is really helpful for planning out times based around celestial events for hunting. Feature request: figure out how to add events to Google Calendar or other ICS based calendars. Feature request 2: allow the setup of events that simply use current location, not a predetermined one.

Just started using it. I'm finding the best location for a solar panel array. The app can show the path of the sun at its highest point in the summer and at its lowest point in the winter and the path currently - at the same time! All overlayed on your phone's camera display - beautiful! There's tons of interesting data and lots more the app can do that I haven't explored but, it has been great for my needs already - love it!

I love the app. excellent tool for photography. I recently used it to estimate how much natural sunlight a potential apartment would get throughout the day. I used it at night, when I could see the apartment. I used it again later while in the apartment during the day and realized that the sun path was quite inaccurate. not sure how to calibrate, or if their is sensor interference.

I made the decision to pay for this app so I could search forward. As a very immature photographer, I am trying to identify places for future Golden hour shots was well as some dramatic sunshots. Also some opportunities for moonlight shots. The navigation is a little clunky but happy with the performance and I recommend giving it a try. There is a lot of junk out there, and this app is definitely NOT one of the junkie ones.
