Controls are unusable. Half 90% of the time you want to pass they just shoot it at the goal. If you check an opponent the puck goes straight to another opponent but when you get checked the puck just sits there. Switching between players is about as intuitive as flying an alien spaceship with your feet. It also only switches to to players behind the play instead of any player that can actually do something

There is no way for game to know if I want to pass or shoot, it just assumes. Switching players is god awful, on defense if you switch to nearest player you catch them flat footed and other team blows past you. If you tap too fast they do a check and 9/10 miss. The goalie can't play the puck, so every rebound trickles in or other team always gets it and scores. Once you get to Div 4+ you can just feel the imbalance. The AI are insanely good and score from anywhere and play lights out defense.

It could be a great game if the devs didn't rig the game so much. From missed passes going the opposite way from where you sent it to shots going wherever they make it go. Don't even bother checking because it almost never results in a turnover of the puck. Be prepared to hit the post a lot when they want you to lose. 9 to 10 times in one game. No matter what level the other team is, their players always seem to be in the right spot to block your pass. It's fixed from the start until the end.

I like the overall game-play and controls. But there is zero customization. Need to be able to adjust sensitivity and some of the controls. Also no customization of the team logo, color or name. Simplicity is this games strong point, but it's almost too simple. Lose interest quickly in the purely "arcade" style play.

Big time pay to win game. Hard to do anything when you get matched against a team that's better than you at every position. No matter how many goals I put up it's too easy for the other team to out skate my d and get breakaway after breakaway. Also, the forced ads are very disappointing. Only reason I gave it a 2nd star is because the gameplay wasnt the worst thing ever, but even that could use some work. No icing, no offsides, and switching between players in the defensive zone is a pain.

Used to be a five, but now a three. It's fun, but it does the AI takes over and dominates beyond any human ability thing. I feel as though I'm a good player, but if you win too many in a row, the game ensures that you will lose a fair amount in a row. All the time it seems. I get having hard, even extreme difficulty levels, but doing the AI will completely hinder your players and boost the other team's to make you lose, all the way to the last second. Whoever thought that would work?

This game is good but could be great. As many have mentioned there's a lot of ads, and the X to get out of ads is so tiny it's impossible to hit. Also when my team is upgraded and playing a much lesser team there should be a notable difference between the players, but even the beginning players rated in the teens can keep up with my players rated in the 60-70s. It would also be cool to add where each player can grow there skills, like after scoring multiple goals they get an extra skill point.

Update: previous 5 star rating. Finally encountered many players gripes. Once you reach the Southwest, it starts to seem rigged. Opp has numerous breakaways, which I've yet to get in 42 games. All of a sudden, my goalie give horrendous rebounds right to the opp's tape. All of a sudden, the game doesn't react to passing and shooting like it did at all other levels. With some adjustment, I'm still winning games, so it's doable. Even fun.

It's just "ok" so far. The controls are basic but it doesn't serve the game of hockey very well. Often the game will assume I'm passing when I'm trying to shoot or vice versa, and then the transition to playing defense is poor with you controlling the player not near the puck. The ads are not overwhelming, but my biggest gripe rn is that some ads do not ever show an X to close and I end up having to shut down the whole game. Not a good way to keep players coming back.

Updated Review: This was a great game, but since the most recent update it has become nearly impossible to score (yet the opposing team can score at will), you can't pass without losing the puck on almost every attempt, and forget about winning a game. I don't mind a challenge, but when it's very obvious that changes have been made to force losses, and ultimately force purchases since you lose all your accrued coins, it just becomes frustrating. It's a shame, this was a really great game before.

This game could be really really great, if it wasn't so impossible to upgrade players, and to win matches, the further you progress. The computer has an unfair advantage that is beyond frustrating. The opposing team almost always gains control of the puck the second after you check them, making it very difficult to maintain offensive control, but more importantly, the computer scores from the most impossible angles, that you can never ever score from. Bottom line; the frustration eliminates fun

Overall its decent. The controls are terrible, and it always seems to make you shoot when you want to pass and vice versa. Way too slow to try and upgrade your roster without paying. And like many other reviews have said, its rigged. Sometimes you can tell the other team wont let in a goal, and your teammates will let up breakaways and easy shots. When this happens, do whatever you can to get a lead and then just keep passing the puck in your zone until time runs out. Could be better, 3 stars

Bad game design, only ever against ai even tho it's advertised as a multi player game, ai can always do things you can't and at a certain point never mess up, controlls are hard to use and over simplify, there is one button to both shoot and pass making it a 50/50 on what you're going to do, the tutorial is terrible and there's an ad right after, unskipible 30 second ads every 3 minutes, pay to win. Go play brawl stars if you're looking for a game that wasn't made in 30 minutes

Sad, ad-filled, rigged game. Can't we play games without having to pay to win anymore? The gameplay is fun but the controls are too simple to set up decent plays. Shooting and passing use the same button so that can be frustrating. Also, the players' names are based on rank and both teams have the same players which makes it a confusing. The matchups make it look like you should be playing against other players but it's clearly bots. I enjoyed for a few days but will now uninstall.

Clunky controls and full of ads. Be prepared to be bombarded with long ads. The same ones over and over and lots of them. The game could be fun if the controls were better and there weren't ads every few seconds. BTW have I mentioned the ads? You annoyed with me mentioning the ads yet? If not, this games for you! Insert ad. Uninstalled because not enough ads.

It COULD be a fantastic game. However in the offensive zone your players kind of just pass to who they want not who you want. Likewise the game doest recognize the difference between a shot and a pass a lot of the time. Also the player switch ability should switch to the nearest player in front of the play not behind it. I shouldnt be fighting game mechanics to win a game.

Game is just very unbalanced in a sense. Opponents will be faster than you, whenever you tackle an opponent, you switch players, and the opponent doesn't have a recovery time in some cases. The puck goes to the opponent team after a tackle most of the time. The best way I found to get the puck is to just get in a big crowd and just keep on clicking the screen. Fun gamplay, just needs better control.

This could be the Retro Bowl of hockey games, but instead it's pay-to-play garbage. The controls make it impossible to play defense. Lifting your thumb automatically throws your player out of position and then switches to another player. You will lose consistently because the AI will get frequent odd man rushes, and there will be nothing you can do about it.

The controls are weird. Passing, shooting, and defence is hard. My 2 biggest problems are goalie and AI teammates. The goalie sometimes leaves the goal to chase the puck, and he can't ever hold onto the puck. Always rebounds. Makes it easy to get scored on since the computers you face know where to go for rebounds. When you're playing defence and going back into your zone, sometimes the other D man will go for a check and miss, making a 2 on to into a 2 on 1 which is annoying.

Overall good game. There are times when the app will obviously rig a game. This does not happen every game; however I will notice things such as when I land a body check - when normally the player with whom I performed the check will pick up the puck - on these few rigged games, he will immediately begin skating in the opposite direction and I am not controlling him anymore. This is frustrating, and I have noticed it happening more frequently when I have an expensive upgrade for which to save.
