It was working fine until the latest update. Now I can't update the automation schedule or manually change the degree in which my blinds open. Before this last update my only qualm was that you can only fully open & close the blinds via Alexa. It would've been nice to be able to partially close the blinds (e.g. 70% close) via voice controls

Barely works. Sometimes things are greyed out, sometimes things are Bluetooth instead of wifi, settings switch back and forth without you touching it, the app has a mind of its own. It's also one of the least considerate UI designs I've ever seen in an app. I really wish switchbot would at least open up their api so an open source developer can do a better job than them.

I've had this since 2021 and it's been totally upgraded, and now things still don't work! Just looks better! I have the light switches .. before in the app i couldn't even chance the names, now I can change the names, but the schedule thing doesn't work for s***!! It'll save it, but when the time comes ... nothing!! BAD APP!!

My switchbot worked for less than a week. My honest suggestion is to just not open the package, return it before you open it. Apparently, mine had a hardware issue, which is sad, because the thing is so simple and ought to be functional. The constant updates to the app (making earlier versions unstable and potentially making your bot incompatible), the need to have Bluetooth and Location services running simultaneously, the need to sign up for an account - unacceptable, one of the worst...

Failed within 24hr of setting things up. Got the Switchbot fully running with Google Home and automations. Later on it just throws errors and I find the bot is no longer listed on the Switchbot app, the app is no longer connected to Google Home, and everything is gone as of the functioning set up never happened. Another good smart product that is rendered useless by bad, buggy, broken, and especially unreliable software. Unfortunately if you're reading this you likely already wasted your money.

This thing sucks. Was great when I first got it, then suddenly I use the app and all my devices are missing. When I try to re-add them it tells me it can't detect them; to hit the bot button on/ off so they can be detected.... the switch bots have NO buttons! So now my switch bots are just plastic paper weights and useless. They worked perfect before then they updated the app and screwed it all up, way to go guys. If it ain't broke don't fix it man. Now I just want my money back or replacements

Total waste of money. App does not detect hardware via BT. Could not detect Wireless Smart Gateway, or the MoesGo Smart Bluetooth Fingerbot. Only device it detected was the Switchbot Bot. But if you can't install the Wireless Smart Gateway, you can only control your devices from within a few feet of your phone. Don't waste your time or money! YouTube video to go up shortly.

The device is probably good, but like others you sign up, it requires a confirmation code that doesn't! There is no way to contact them. So basically you paid for something you cannot use. It turns out they throw a bunch of text in the confirmation email that steers it right into the spam folder. Once you get that figured out you sign up and can find your product. The interface was pretty primative.

The app is terrible. Devices fail a lot. You can't rely on these at all and they don't even tell you when they fail. There's no options for notifications on failed attempts. You'll have no idea that your switch has disconnected and was unable to turn on. Very disappointed. To add insult to injury, if your phone is offline, the schedule will not run. You can't trust a schedule to work at all. Huge flaw in the design of this product makes it worthless. I would return it all if I could. Garbage!!!

Why do you need all of those permissions to turn a switch on and off. Rediculas! Edit: I understand the blutooth but why do you need to know my location? Record audio? View network connections? Read and modify sd card? Have full network access? View my wi-fi connections? Change my audio settings? Run at startup? None of these have anything to do with operating a switch that turns on and off.

The app became very slow, takes 30 seconds to change curtain bot settings like schedule. And often times out so I have to retry. Calibration and some other settings greyed out. My wifi is ok, the hub works fine, I even rebooted it. Still can open close fast via Google Assistant. The app worked fine before bit it started being super slow about a week ago.

I use this app in my reptile room, monitoring temperature and humidity. I also use them in my egg boxes in the incubator. It's GREAT for this! The only downside so far is that if I want to see the recent data, I have to watch it play from the very beginning. I can't select a date on the calendar. Loading data unable to perform this action. So I have to play all the data to the end. Once the data is done loading then the calendar works. I wish I could select a date to delete data.

I'm using SwitchBot for the Smart Meter Plug. It works overall, but I found it difficult to switch to measuring a new data set and get accurate data for that day's project. Today's Energy display does not reset when the history is reset. Additionally, the Power On Duration is 4 mins off from the start of the day. Maybe a clock sync issue? Here would be some great features to add... 1) History Chart Energy consumption vs time (min, hour), 2) Energy cost with multiple rate input by time brackets.

How do you just keep breaking the app. Update: The bot broke the same way the previous one broke. I'm inclined to believe these things are made to fail after a certain point. both broke just after the warranty period. They weren't doing any demanding work. literally just pressing a static button and never being moved. don't bother with the company or their products. bad app, and worse products. 2: Replies masking as support are useless. I already went through support beforehand to no help.

I have the blinds and a hub 2. Integration with Google home app needs improvement. I get a slider that goes 0-100 percent, which 0 is all the way down, and 100 is full open or exact middle, which leaves no way to close them upward from the Google app. Everything works as it should in the switchbot app, which is great, though the Google buttons stay in devices button in my notification bar and is easier to get to.

This app has gone down the drain. Version 6 of this app let me control my switchbot without an account and only allowing Bluetooth approximate location. The newest version requires you to create an account and give the app full location permissions. Data harvesting to the max. Luckily I have a backup of version 6 and after reinstalling that, I can access my switchbot without needing an account.

Latest update caused me to lose all my devices and the app no longer can find them. When I open the "Add a device" page, I can see that the app appears to find my devices (2 bots appear under "scanning for Bluetooth devices nearby...", but when I try to select one, the "Add bot" page opens with a message: "No bot has been found yet". Edit: re-installing the app fixed the issue, but raising to and leaving my review at 3/5 for now because an update breaking things is still bad.

There needs to be an option to upgrade the firmware on all devices at once. It really sucked upgrade one at a time when you have over 20 devices. Also the app is slow when turning on or off more than one switch in a row. I also constantly have issues with my Leak detection being offline and now one of my switches, even though they are not offline.

Absolutely terrible. The app does not treat the email field as an email field and this password managers do not work properly. Since it is plain text, every period I have in my email, automatically adds a space. Once logged in, the amount of popups is just unnecessary. I don't even know what they were because I was just trying to get to the app. I am not a new user, stop showing me how to use the app and whatever other popups there were.

When it works properly, it's decent. But the app is quite slow, especially when viewing meter history, it can take upwards of 5+ minutes for a single device to load which quickly becomes quite tedious. The fact that the devices don't auto-update is annoying as well, you have to go through and manually update each one when an update releases (which is a 10-15 minute process per device), no option for schedules/automation to take into account daylight savings is also a HUGE pain.
