Used to be great but 3hr episodes no longer perminately unlock, it's almost impossible to earn free ink anymore, the cost of episodes doubled making the price of ink expensive and not worth it unless on a sale. I want to support the artists and translators but it's just not cost friendly anymore. (Update) If they allowed the unlock of 3 free episodes a day with watching ads on every story and not just a select few I would have less gripes but the app just keeps getting worse.

The "ink" payment model they use is probably the most obnoxious system I've come across. If you're trying to use this app for free by completing tasks for ink, don't. It's essentially a scam, and a very frustrating one at that. If you're trying to use this app to simply pay to read comics (crazy concept, I know), I'd also say don't. It's very very expensive for the short chapters you get. It's hard to get behind an app that puts so many ads and paywalls between you and every action.

So far no more unnecessary changes. The UI is acceptable as it is atm but I'm wary it may change again. Other than that, good app. Still annoying we lost the function to watch ads to get ink. Only other real complaint (and this is more of a personal opinion) is I'm tired of the same premises for stories. 9 out of 10 times they all start with the MC going back in time after being killed. I've literally begun dropping new stories simply because I'm sick of this setup.

For a while, I loved the interface of the app. Sorting by the newest in a genre let me see any potential hits. But, when I could no longer connect from an older version, I was forced to update and the loss of the "New by genre" option is a big loss. On the off chance they return this option, I'll give this app a 5/5, until then... Update: They're scum

Honestly, the amount of in App notifications and pop ups and click traps is annoying. Like come on, I'm already on the app reading and buy chapters and you don't need all this intrusive new release and events pop ups pestering users. Often times, I'm accidentally backing out of the app in an attempt to close out of the app's near full screen banners. It's annoying AF.

The novels and comics are good, but the app tends to be glitchy. Updates more often bring more bugs than they fix. On the plus side, Tapas gives authors full rights over their work, which is good for authors, but can be a pain for readers. Series can be removed without notice, keeping you from reading more if you had not finished. You can reread chapters, but to do so, you need to scroll through transaction history to find the series, which is not search or sortable.

I loved Tapas but now it's not worth it. I just keep updating this one star review with new terrible decisions this company makes. New interface is cluttered and difficult to navigate. Prices for chapters keep skyrocketing and avenues to earn free ink (ads, games, etc) are disappearing. WUF went from 3hr to 24hr resets. Free ink campaigns do not offer rewards to cover half the the cost to complete them and even then rewards expire within days. Save your money, go somewhere else!

This app continues to infuriate and frustrate me. They've been removing "ads to unlock chapter" off of series along with changing 3hr WUF's to 24hr ones, and some comics that had bundle deals no longer do. The interface is still a cluttered, unnecessary mess. All the chapters are more expensive--even for ones they assured us wouldn't change. I am beyond fed up, the only thing that'll make me happy is if they bring the ads for ink back but that's doubtful at this point...

I love the comments and comment section. This is the reason I'm still on the app. The selection is pretty good too. However, recent changes are making this a pay-only. Wait-for-free is 24hrs at best for most series and is only a 72hr unlock, rather than 'own' like it was 3 years ago. Most events cannot be completed w/o spending real money and the "rewards" don't even recover the losses. The weekly free ink, is randomly generated and 9/10 times is less than the cost of a chapter.

I've been using tapas for years and am disappointed with each new, unexpected update. They've taken away the option to watch ads to get ink unless it's on specific stories. They continue to lower the discount percentage on the "one-tap" feature rendering it useless. And the weekly reward is never above 380 ink, which doesn't even cover the amount needed for one episode of ongoing stories. And the reward disappears after a week. I guess I will be deleting this app for how user UN-friendly it is.

To improve reader experience, a setting to download an entire series rather than one chapter at a time would be convenient, and I'd appreciate the ability to sort series into different libraries. Being subscribed to over one hundred of them, I often forget to read them. That aside, I've been using Tapas for two years now, and it's still one of my go-to's. I love it!

I've used this app for a few years now and it has gone down hill. I enjoy many of the stories including some that I intend to finish. However I can no longer unlock the episodes to finish them because the reading challenges are nearly impossible. You may need to unlock 3 episodes of a 24 hr WUF but only have 2 days to do so. Not to mention the ink you win cant buy a singular episode. They are removing some of the best features and its main advantage over other apps.

It doesn't save my place on the page I'm reading anymore, and if I leave it up in the background while switching to another app it starts me over at the top of the page again when I switch back. Edit: ok, it's actively getting worse. Now if I leave it up in the background it starts me over on whatever page I started reading from even if I've read 10-15 pages farther. How is this getting worse instead of better? They're charging more per issue too, you can't raise prices while reducing quality.

I took a long break from Tapas due to it's various performance issues with this app. Having revisited it recently, it seems to run smoother. It is still frustrating that I cannot search my subscribed series or that certain keywords including titles refuse to show results when the comics and stories exist. I've only logged in to check up on my updated series, so I haven't gotten to gauge its current monetization.

I like this app and have been using it for a couple years. Unfortunately the amount of ink it takes to unlock chapters isn't consistent and the fact that when I finish reading an episode it doesn't move to the next one and it's happened multiple times where I've been charged because it didn't go to the next episode and it stead unlocked one I've already read. Extremely frustrating and makes me want to completely delete the app because that's my money that was just wasted.

Buying a bundle will buy episodes you have already read. The 'watch ad' button is only on select series now and sometimes doesn't show up. Watched multiple ads without reward and it just gave me a sync error as an excuse. Free daily episodes are cut off half way through a series, and as I said before the ad button to unlock is broken. Not worth spending money on this app until they fix these issues, giving them money will just show them a broken app and increasing prices is fine.

There's no way to save what chaper/page you're on. In order to find what I'm reading I have to constantly put it in the search and scroll down to the page I want. There should definitely be a way to save where you're at, or at least a way to make a list of your subscribed works. You'll have to memorize every title you're reading too because the search is not intuitive, perfect spelling and spacing only.

tapas is incredibly expensive! It used to allow for earning points by watching ads. but no more. and it has even less chances to earn free ink without spending ink. I used to only have to spend approx. $20 or less per month on tapas... now, in order to read all the agonies that I am hooked on, I would have to spend around $100 per month. I wish they would just bring back the old "watch ads to earn pionts"
