TaxSlayer's website is a great service, but the mobile app experience is horrible. Pressing the back button on the homepage immediately logged me out, and trying to use my password manager always resets the username and password fields. It feels like a human hasn't tested how humans will use this app. I'm sticking to the website for now.

My w2 and 1099 were elctronically sent to me. So ivhad to multitask with my phone. Every time i minimized app to get numbers from my other documents my information was erased from app and i had to start that section over. Made the entire process hard to do in timely manner. Also, i was under impression that it would be FREE. But there is absolutely no way around the $17 "classic ad on" fee. I did not add this on.

Really, really glitchy today on tax day and apparently the last few days. However, I was able to submit my tax return I had completed but not submitted months ago. I have no idea how people are getting through the pages while getting bounced out over and over. All I needed to do was pay and hit submit and it took me 3 hours.

As I tried to collect various information from other files on my device, when I navigated back to the app, it would continuously prompt me about leaving the screen. It did not display at an optimal time and resulted in me have to repeat the file process 4 times before submitting. After committing to file, I did not get positive feedback from the app. I can only assume it went through from the email confirmation received.

Very inconvenient app. I don't know why it doesn't understand the concept of just going to the previous page. Anytime I want to go back to the settings menu I have to relog in. I've been on my phone for 20 minutes today and the whole time I've had to relog in about eight times. And I don't know why you made 400 copies of the same return. I don't owe you $500,000.

This app is terrible! I must have logged in a dozen times in a session! The "in app settings" took me to a site to download the apple store tax slayer app 😂. They don't seem to care about anyone using a regular android device; pretty common OS to lack so much compatibility. I clicked to save my info at login; didn't work. Text fields would not fill automatically no matter how many times I gave permission. Had to enter a new verification code from my email every 5 minutes with each relogin.

Not simple to use when trying to do past year amended forms. After giving up and NOT printing or saving file, heck I didn't even finish the forms. Figured it's not working for me. Gave up and asked tax slayer to refund me the money they demanded before we can start. They claim it will be 3 days. 1.5 months later still no refund showing up. BEWARE!

This app is hands down worst experience of any functional app out there. It's like they took their website and made it worse. Their service is fine, but this app is absolutely abandonware levels of quality. If you leave it at all, for any amount of time, it loses all the data you've entered when you come back (so good luck copying numbers from another app). If you hit the back button it logs you out completely without warning. Just use their website. You're welcome in advance.

Very annoying app, autofill doesn't work very well and constantly brought me back to the log in screen, as did any accidental screen rotations. Not to mention the mandatory "upgrade" just to pay for services that where free last year. If it's not a better app next year I can't see myself using it again.

Total headache, it's always timing out. You have to sign in and it sends you a verification code to your phone or email.. but this app totally wastes time. It waits until you back out the app to finally send the code, or if you wait too long it will just time out.. I have been trying to sign in for the past week, my advice just use something else. They don't have it together yet. On top of that, they randomly delete your prior years pages, I can't get info, for last year cuz they erased it all

Tried to file NJ Tax return it keeps coming back with an error of missing property info (county, lot and block) so I have to file by paper, neither the website nor the App show where to go for the missing info, I went to every tab on App, couldn't find it. Called their support, they couldn't figure it out either, I used Taxslayer in the past but I guess it is time to switch, they are cheaper options too, I am sure I will get a response to this comment asking to clarify but I won't bother.

Can't even log in. I've used these guys every year for the last 4 or so years, even after they started charging me, because it was convenient and easy and they saved all my information. Now I'm trying to log in with the password I had saved from last year and it won't let me, locked me out of my account, and I can't even recover my account because the form is buggy and won't let me put in my zip code. The app also isn't available to download on Chromebook.

This app sucks. Trying to enter in information by hand but have it saved on my phone. Minimize the app to review the info and the enter in the numbers and the app backs out of the screen deleting everything I just entered. This is not a safety feature and if the developers say it is, well, it ruins the app. Plenty of other programs that don't do this that are more user friendly. Pass.

This app is terrible! It's taken me over an hour & a half just to do something simple. I'm agitated already. I came to file an extension and it's not happening, I'm late thanks to this app. Every little thing you do, it logs you out and you have to start ALL OVER AGAIN!! I've had to enter my 1099 4x manually. There's no camera option to snap and upload. It doesn't save your most recent work. Don't turn your phone the other direction bc you'll be logged out. This is ridiculous!!

They lie about it being free for basic filing and won't tell you until the end that they will charge you. It's not user friendly and impossible to easily navigate back to other sections. They repeatedly bombard you with adds for other services they will charge you for and they I'd scan is glitchy. It won't work and keeps popping up with no way to cancel it.

Well trying to navigate on app is impossible. It has no option to add income or edit income. I recieved a 1099 k for selling personal items at a loss on poshmark and it keeps trying to get me to fill out a schedule c but it was not a business and it won't give me options to change it. So frustrating. I've done turbo tax every year but thought I'd save some money by trying this one. Wish I had tried to do the 1099 k first instead if entering everything else for 2 hours.

TaxSlayer gets worse and more expensive to use every year. The app is way too simplistic. As an example I use it to update my tax data incrementaly as I receive it. I am unable to go to specific forms. I have to "continue", "continue", "continue" to get to a form, and then I am unable to "save and exit" without continuing to the end. It is very frustrating and time consuming. I think the app is very user unfriendly.

I've used the website previously and had no issues at all. Figured I'd get the app bc it would be quicker and easier - yeah, definitely not. Any time I go to access info outside of the app to manually fill in information, the app crashes and loses ALL progress. I've tried several several times to upload my W-2, the button provided to do so is untouchable, it doesn't work at all. And, for funsies, the Federal ID barcode Scan pops up randomly at any time, even if you've done it. 0☆ if I could.

Wasted enough time to more than make up for any $ I might have saved vs TurboTax or something. I have a lot of documents to enter this year, and I couldn't even get through the first one. Logs you out if your screen rotates? Yup. It does. Go to another app to get W2 info, come back and it asks if you're sure you want to navigate away. After a ½hour, I right I got smart and went to split screen. Except it logged me out w/o saving all my work.

The app is cancer. If you tab out it usually restarts, and it's 50/50 if it saves your information. Even if it does save what you've already typed, you usually have to go through the prompts again anyways. In the final step, I had to click "no thanks" no less than 30 times to it's upgrades, because each time I reviewed infor elsewhere or double checked my data, it brings you back to the start of the step so you can get gagged by its own ads. Remember, this isn't free. They get paid by the IRS.
