Still nothing like standing at your car while this app tries to connect! And this app is just more features layered on to some clunky and awkward UI choices. One bizarre example is using sliders, instead of numerical scroll fields, to adjust charging rate and amount values. A 13 yr old can prompt AI to code a better form with more sensible elements than this.

(Originaly posted in 2014.) I have been using this app since Feb. 2012 and overall I think it's great. There still are many things you can add to the app, but two obvious ones are (both now fixed through OTA updates) - to be able to start the software update from the app (added in v9 Oct. 2018) and to be able to change the charge rate from the app (added in v11 July 2022). Maybe fully open and close windows from the app. Keep innovating!

The app has gone from bad to worse. The app inconveniently freezes. It doesn't show the vehicle, your contacts erase, it doesn't remote connect to lock or unlock charge status on vehicle, summon features freezes while in the middle of the street, and doesn't connect to sentry mode often. Once the bugs are gone, it'll be second to none! These issues are pretty big issues.

App works only intermittently. Definitely something that needs better attention and some fine tuning. Apparently even the richest man in the world can't make a product that works perfect every time. Constantly getting an error message that reads 'error please try again' or 'command failed' when trying different app functions. Good job Tesla!

Buggy . Needs more options . Needs to work better. Always turns OFF my ac when I tell it to turn ON and the battery is below 20 percent . Even after I confirm the disclaimer. Just straight up doesn't connect to car (like right now) . Edit months later. Now app, just doesn't work at all. Won't connect to the car for anything for hours at a time. Then maybe work later. Maybe not. Unreliable. All updates installed Another edit months later. One star. App is garbage.

Great app and glad they provide this functionally without cost. Biggest gripe right now is the Android app isn't updated at the same time as the iOS app. Second main issue is when viewing live cameras it cuts off the music I'm listening to. It should not need to pause the music since there is no sound coming from the videos. Another issue, when you have multiple products it has to load each one before you can swipe to the next one. I'd rather there be a button that says wake up car or refresh.

This app generally works perfectly for me. The only issues I have are related to the Service messaging interface. It is almost impossible to type out a message because of the extreme lag that seems to get worse with every keystroke. By the end of the second line of text I have to wait 4-5 seconds between each letter. The only solution is to type in notes app and paste message in.

I would like to suggest an option be added to the Scheduled Departure function. Currently one can schedule a departure time for either "All week"or "Weekdays". I would like to see a button added for "One time". There have been a number of times that I've set a departure time that I expect to use only once, and then forgot turn it off. Until I notice it, the car will unnecessarily pre-condition itself at that time every day.

The app has become incredibly buggy after latest update. 9 times out of 10 it will not connect to my car... It just gets caught in an eternal loop "last seen xx minutes ago". *Edit*. *Edit* I discovered that my garage has less than adequate wi-fi signal. While it was technically connected to my home Wi-Fi, it wasn't a strong enough signal to allow communication to the app. I removed my home network completely from the car and it began working immediately.

App provides basic functionality you'd expect for a modern car, but is too slow to startup, load screens, and download data (regarding car status). Fails to text properly in Service appointment messaging, responding at a snail's pace as if each letter input triggers a heavy calculation. Also does not provide integration with Garmin smart watches (eg to open frunk or precondition). Another problem: cannot toggle Sentry mode back off: opens camera view instead.

NEW COMMENT: Please add a simple screen OVERLAPPING GRAPHICS. OLD COMMENT: Excellent 3.xx... app w/ 4 circles showing real-time flows of sources & destinations of home power ... & bright easy-to-overlap graphs w/ data & complete info at a glance/finger tap. BUT the 4.xx... app is an unwanted replacement. (I semi-replaced w/ the simple "Powerwall Companion" app w/ big no's/letters.) Graphs are laborious and cannot be overlapped. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Allow a choice, plz.

Update: app connects much better. Overall faster and more reliable. Great job. Works well usually but recently after a new update autopilot doesn't allow you to turn off auto high beams and auto windshield wipers super annoying! They turn on randomly and the high beams make it look like I'm flashing people! Got pulled over by a cop and now I'm not using it at all. Sucks because I loved it.

App freezes when choosing Seasons in Powerwall utility setup, having to force close the app every time. Tried configuring this about six different ways, in different areas, different approaches, every single one of them makes it freeze on a blank screen with the Tesla logo and nothing more. Waited minutes on that screen and still nothing happens. Pretty ridiculous for such expensive products.

Tesla needs to give users complete control over notifications. I really really really do not need a notification every time my phone is connected or disconnected from the car. There are some granular controls around notifications in the app but unfortunately this obvious one is not one of those controls. I only want a notification if something absolutely needs my attention and that doesn't even come close to fulfilling the criteria.

The cars are great. The app needs work. It only remembers two payment methods, one for charging add one for other stuff. It's a hassle; I change payment methods a couple times a month. Also the app is sluggish when it comes to especially pulling up the PDF invoices for them. And it's tedious to get to communications about my car in service. Also the developer contact email address has an auto reply that says it's ignored.

App no longer allows me to schedule service. Automatically cancels my request for service and can't get a human to assist. Old 5 star review:Recommend breaking the syncronist nature of the app and allowing commands to be issued prior to waking the car. Vehicle health like measures of obstruction on cameras would be nice as well. Game from app could be cool as well.

Since I couldn't find support email (only phone number, seriously? is it not a tech company?) I will write a bug report here. My wife's car got towed and Tesla app didn't even send a notification. When she opened the app to see where the car is, the location wasn't updated so she couldn't even see where the car was towed! It didn't even show that the car was in motion. This is basic stuff that should work. Please fix.
