More About Teuida: Learn Languages

Learn Spanish, Korean and Japanese language by speaking from the start!
Practice speaking essential expressions in first-person POV scenarios.

πŸ‘€ "But I can just learn it by watching Netflix!?”

Just like if you were learning how to swim, you’d go into a pool instead of watching videos of Michael Phelps swimming. You can't learn Korean by listening to BTS, Japanese by watching anime or Spanish by eating tacos! Don't get us wrong, we too love listening to Kpop, watching anime and eating tacos. But if your goal is to ACTUALLY SPEAK, you have to, well – SPEAK! TEUIDA's first-person POV conversations will get you speaking everyday expressions in real-life scenarios.

⏳ 3 min > 30 min

We believe that 3 minutes of actual speaking will help you more than 30 minutes watching someone else speaks.

Why waste your precious time learning about languages when you can learn by speaking it yourself? Our interactive lessons not only get you to speak with the tutors but gives instant feedback on your pronunciation.

😏 Overcome fear of speaking

Research shows that one of the greatest barriers to speaking a language is confidence. After all, what's the point of knowing all the grammar rules and verb conjugations if you can't speak when the moment comes? TEUIDA helps you overcome fear of speaking by simulating real-life scenarios but without all the social anxiety. (i.e. Our characters won't throw shade at you for mispronouncing!)

Here’s a list of things that make TEUIDA different:

🎯 Essential expressions

No more weird, awkward phrases (translated by bots) that no one actually use in real life. (Let's be honest, when was the last time you had to say "I am a boy, you are a woman" in real-life?)

🎯 Effective curriculum

Once you master our curriculum, you will be able to know the basic vocabularies, grammars and of course, speak to your friends in Korean and Japanese.

🎯 Taught by Bilingual Tutors

Our crazy selection of fully bilingual tutors not only speak your target language but understand where you’re coming from. They know exactly what to teach you because they've been in your shoes!

🎯 AI Pronunciation Analysis

What's the point of repeating sentences aloud if you can't tell whether you're pronouncing it right? TEUIDA has a convenient voice recognition system that will give instant feedback on your pronunciation.

🎯 Fun, Interactive Stories

We believe that learning and fun are not mutually exclusive. In fact, learning is most effective when it's fun! You'll find yourself laughing, screaming and at times even cringing with the characters.

🎯 Real-life Scenarios

Real-life everyday situations! Everything from ordering a drink at the cafe to asking for directions!

🎯 Culture-specific tips

A wise man once said that "the person who learns language without learning culture risks becoming a fluent fool". We believe understanding culture is the key to learning language. So we hand-selected each scenario to reflect the culture-specific elements of each country.

So... what are you waiting for? Stop reading and start speaking with TEUIDA!

Please note you will need a TEUIDA Premium plan in order to access all content and exclusive features.
We only use the microphone's voice recognition in to evaluate your pronunciation.

Easy, fun, and convenient. The app has helped me learn so much. They provide lessons that are useful in real life. The ads are understandable and happen every lesson. An issue that I have encountered is technological - sometimes I will be finishing a lesson, and whenever I speak, it immediately marks it as wrong. Other than that this app is amazing!

I like the concept of the app but it's frustrating when the app can't pick up what I'm saying. It'll "hear" some words I say but not others despite saying everything at the same volume. So I have to repeat myself constantly, and sometimes the app still doesn't pick up my voice. I know I'm not mispronouncing something because the app is usually quick to type out what you're pronouncing, but in my case, the app wasn't typing anything at all, or it would delete parts I said. Especially unit 8.

It does help learn words and expressions and the way you learn is really cool. But it only has 3 stars bc for ex when you have to speak it doesn't pick up the microphone and when it lags really bad and sometimes kicks me out of the app and when I say words with correct pronunciations it says it's wrong but maybe that's just me though πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

This app is helping me retain conversational language speaking skills well, compared to previous resources. There's just some frustration when the app doesn't hear me properly. I don't mean that my pronunciation is simply off. I mean it will display entirely different syllables from what I am saying, and sometimes I will even have to drop proper pronunciation for a more americanized one in order for it to understand me. Other times, nothing I do will work. For now, the pros outweigh the cons.

Love the app, it's the only one I've been consistent with for over a month BUT what a tease TT. The "Stories" achievement is listed in the Japanese course profile instead of the Korean course even though only the Korean course has stories. It's a small thing, but what a tease >ワ< I really hope to have stories in the Japanese course soon~

I can access everything about the app but the mic icon. I have gone through my phone's system and settings and made sure the microphone has permission. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it and started it over and make sure to accept permissions but it's still not working.

Honestly the only way I can learn Japanese with how I learn languages in general, which is to speak it while learning grammer along the way (like my IRL French class). The only thing I would like on this app, however, is a review button so no matter what, you can review what you have learnt that isn't apart of the days agenda so you can fully memorize and remember it. (like the other mini "quizzes" at the end of the days lessons. except all together with what you did in the past)

A very interactive conversational app making it so easy to learn a language. I have been trying to learn Korean on duolingo and this app beat it hands down.. The best part is all the startup glitches are being taken care of in real time and there is very minimal wait for the updates to come in. Looks like a great team at the back-end and front-end giving their best to make it work smoothly for the users.. Very happy to have come across it

This app has done a good job so far of helping me learn, but the amount of times I've had to cancel mid lesson due to being unable to progress has been ridiculous. Almost every lesson, if I get one wrong, the microphone will simply stop working (not every time either), not allowing me to continue. If this issue was fixed, I'd consider subscribing because I like it so far. Just the bugs are killing my experience leaving me frustrated.

Honestly, this apps program is incredible and I only got as far as a few phrases but the concept of speaking back to someone is amazing of course and helped me remember phrases so quickly. However, the app crashes all the time if it doesn't understand what you say once, stalls, and there's no way to correct it and continue forward or get out of the lesson. The crashes and bugs are major. Can continue using because of this sadly. 😭

I hate that they changed the use of real peoples voices for the practice and use that computer/robot. It doesn't make sense for an app that's supposed to get you used to hearing and saying a new language isn't using a real person's voice anymore, they used to, idk y it changed. But this has been the most helpful and free app that I've found for learning korean.

I've been using Teuida for about a month now and it's such an engaging experience! It's got a way of immersing you into little story scenarios that make it very fun. It feels like you're having real conversations! On occasion the mic has issues and won't pick up what I'm saying, but in the time I've been using this app they have pushed out improvements to make it work better. It's nice to know they are constantly trying to make it a better experience.

The idea is great, the tutors bubbly and encouraging, the shorts are cheesy but cute, the tech errors are driving me CRAZY. It's unbearable to have the mic freeze up five times in one lesson with no way to get through it besides quitting, which removes all progress so you have to repeat everything at their glacial pace. 2, it won't accept when an answer is correct if it's not exactly what they want, e.g. "I am a student" can be ν•™μƒμ΄μ—μš” but they'll only accept μ €λŠ” ν•™μƒμ΄μ—μš”. I wanted to like it! Alas.

The app is ok. It would be better if it would register what words are said and didn't just stop working. I've unlocked the same lesson over the past several days because it just freezes, won't let me select the mic, can't always pick up what is said, and sometimes I don't even get to answer before it is asking me to repeat it or freezing and refusing to allow me to continue. There are way too many technical issues that take away the enjoyment of learning.

When it works, easily the best language learning app I've used. Great lesson plans, intuitive learning, and seemingly very accurate understanding of levels of formality. But it constantly breaks; my streaks have died out of nowhere, the speech detection is finicky, and sometimes the exams just freeze up completely. EDIT: It's now forgetting my history, locking me out of required videos, and auto-failing me when I open one, so I can't progress. Really unfortunate.

I like it because of having the sentences put into conversation directly. But somehow the app has a hard time picking up what I am saying when it's a one-syllable Korean word. And sometimes, the app's mic glitches and skipped to "false answer" when I haven't even had chance to answer. In addition, I would prefer it if the flash card can be swiped right & left instead of just one direction.

Great concept! However the technical issues are unbearable. As many reviews here already mentioned, the mic doesn't pick up well, and if it doesn't - it stops working altogether. I noticed it mostly happens outside of actual lessons. Developers, please look at the bugs in practice exercises and shorts! It could be an amazing product if you fix the technical issues - but currently it's impossible to use πŸ˜‘

I've been using it daily for almost a week and enjoy the type of engagement. However, its been having trouble picking up the single syllable words and I just cant move passed the number lesson. Tried downloading it on a separate device and it just won't use the microphone on it. Now I'm just stuck.

I really like the way this app teaches! I've used Duolingo for years, but just a few days in on Teuida & I've learned so much! If only the app didn't freak out in the middle of a conversation, causing me to fail even when I've gotten nothing wrong. And the only way to fix it is to do the entire, lengthy lesson again (and hope it doesn't freeze up again), because there's no way to fast forward to the part where it glitched the first time. Goodbye straight-A streak! TT_TT Day 10: even worse now!

The app. Seems really fantastic in concept and execution. The user interface is also quite good. I can really recommend this to anybody who wants to get started in korean. However, for me personally, it was a little frustrating to select that I am incommediate or higher and still be given the greetings and thank you lesson right of the bat. I don't know if I did something wrong but after selecting intermediate or higher I was expecting to get lessons more on my level.
