The 3 dots that indicate it's loading every flippin' time I move the map is entirely unnecessary. And the pop up telling me nothing was found is annoying as can be. I can see the markers on the map, and the count at the bottom, I don't need it interrupting me as I swipe around the map to tell me there aren't any results in that region. And when I click on a marker (something I actually DO want to see), it pops up just long enough I can't read it, and disappears.

I like the concept of this app and the campground search functionality works well. If you pay for a PRO subscription you get access to a road trip planning tool which initially seemed great and is a definite selling point for me. But there is a bug which prevents me from reordering stops which makes the tool pretty useless. Imagine wanting to add a stop into the middle of your itinerary but you can't so you have start from scratch and make sure you add all stops in consecutive order.

Sorry folks, just really needs a lot of improvement. Doesn't even list most if the campgrounds in my area, and when looking for trips this summer, it was not even as good as Google maps. They had more info, and a better generated list. I'll help durring the free trial, to fill in some of your gaps, and send some pics, but without much improvement, I wont be paying.

Absolutely useless. I have a trip round trip planned with several campgrounds already picked out. The app won't let me just enter my trip out and back home. It's slow to use and slow to start. The back button is frustrating, closing out every time I try to back to the previous screen. After being convinced to upgrade the pro account was even more useless. Don't bother with this app.

Helpful tool, rough app experience... I recently downloaded (and signed up for the annual Pro membership) and the app was really helpful for finding last-minute places to camp for a road trip. That said, even though it looks like the app was just rebuilt within the last two weeks, it is pretty rough. It lags and stutters, and when I click on a push notification it just opens the app to the homepage instead of taking me to the featured campsite or whatever the notification was about.

There are a lot of good reviews here.. I was seriously let down! I fumbled around with the app, it doesn't seem to find stuff very easy, won't pull up major campgrounds around beach areas, and wouldn't even save or load a trip. Kept saying connection error. Doesn't seem worth paying for, so cancelled the 7 day trial after about 10 min. From what I can tell it's not much better than Google maps, you just have to search campgrounds near me..

I really wanted to like this app. It came up in every search for campgrounds. I started the trial to check it out. It continues to crash and then competely resets me. It promises to have "free sites / dispersed camping" spots, but it doesn't. The layers was the only cool part, wish i could just have that. I'll stick to IOverlander for now. It is simple in comparison, but has yet to crash.

Very unfriendly, no help or instructions. To build a trip, it asks for starting point and destination. It makes no provision for a round-trip trip. Once you enter your waypoints in the order you want them, the app rearranges them and adds stops you weren't looking for. The result: I spent an hour trying to set up a trip with 3 waypoints and the apps added 4. What a useless mess.

I'm using the maps for bike touring. Collecting blm and forest service into one place is nice and convenient. The route making feature is frustrating to deal with, first it supposes that you have a vehicle. Then you need to have an established destination, you can't just pick a point on the map. Everytime there's an update I have to delete and reinstall for it to work. (Which means you'd have to redownload the maps you want, which could get dangerous if someone is going in and out of cell signal

I really wanted to like this app, especially since I forgot to cancel and accidentally paid for a year of Pro! I love the idea, and the fact it was created by campers. However, it tries to do too much, and there is poor quality control. App is very slow and buggy compared to competitors I also use. Also, do not trust even the main description in campground profiles - 2 of 3 campgrounds we will stay at on an upcoming trip contain erroneous information about important items (yes, I did report it).

Not a very helpful app to say the least. I have been fumbling around this app for the last hour with no success. I already know where I want to go on my trip and my spots I want to stop. Why is there not a button on the home screen that says "Build my trip" or something to that effect? I signed up for the pro version but am cancelling and deleting this app. Maybe Allstays is a better option. We will see.

Unfortunately there is no way to filter by usage, by which I mean you can't search for campgrounds by how crowded they usually are. Other than that, it's a pretty good app! An abundance of reviews for each location and lots of great features. No bugs that I've found so far. I do appreciate the phone number and email to contact the ranger stations and links to the USDA website. (Edited because I realized you can move around on the map and it changes what shows up on the list! Cool!)

So many bugs I don't know where to start. Saved lists don't display correctly. Trips are the same. Login hangs while the cursor spins forever... 11/02/23 Since my original review over a year ago this app continues to be filled with bugs. It hangs up when logging in, pulling up saved lits, basically just trying to access anything. So disappointing. It's time to rebuild this app from scratch.

App useless for trip planning. The app is super slow and it won't allow me to reorder my trip destinations. When i try to put in waypoints and camping spots, it ridiculously puts me all over the map. And then there is no way to reorder... come on. I spent an hour trying to reconfigure the order of the locations, which should of only taken 5 minutes. I had to end up reordering on my laptop. Not worth the $39 for subscription with this lacking feature. Such a hassle and not worth it.

Neat concept, poor execution. The app will only do a map search once, if you change areas and tap the 'Search this area' button, nothing happens. Tapping on a campsite will display a blank page, going back and tapping on the campsite again a few times will eventually load the campsite info. The app doesn't list if there are open spots, just that it's a campsite and the contact information for it. Like another review said, this doesn't do anything that a Google map search can't.

poor support, buggy features. I've had a string of trouble. First most features were locked behind 'Pro' subscription. I loved the idea of the service, it just doesn't work very well. I thought maybe that it would be better if I went ahead and paid for it. Nope. I purchased on Black Friday and when I ran into trouble I learned their entire staff had taken the busiest day off. Still so many issues. Got double charged, sign in issues, still upsell with pro, but mostly it's the lack of support.

Version as of 4/16. This was disappointing. I love the idea, but the execution is really poor. The app feels cross-platform, probably a webview. Clicking map pins rarely works (I usually have to try tapping 10+ times), the navigation is clunky and inconsistent, the navigation doesn't fit Android (tabs are iOS-centric), and the fonts are clearly ignoring my global preferences for size. It just feels out of place, slow, and clunky. I'll try again when it gets to a later market stage. Bummer!

This has the potential to be an amazing app. Still several bugs that need to be worked on. But for now, it's helpful to see what's available as a pre research before using Google maps, and I do really like that. I also like the provided time a distance between each stop. That help for better planning.

Have been traveling extensively for four years now and have used many apps. Tried the "PRO" trial and it's just an upload of all the Home Depot, Walmart, Costco, Lowe's, etc - I can Google that! I don't stay in those places, anyway - many of them no longer allow it, and I don't want a knock in the middle of the night. If you want real boondocking suggestions try iOverlander. If you want campgrounds this isn't much more help than Campendium (online, no longer an app) or Google Maps search.

I was having issues with connecting to the service a few nights ago and assumed my subscription had expired due to my bank reissuing a new card that didn't match what I had on fine here. That was not the case, the app just wouldn't sign me in. After contacting tech support, the issue was rapidly addressed and works as expected. Luckily it happened at home while in the process of planning for an upcoming trip. Well now that our trip has commenced, this app is back to being useless.
