A complete ripoff. This company took almost 400.00 from me for an overpriced policy and now they are refusing to issue me a refund when I ask. They are making up excuses, posting the funds to the wrong account, and failing to follow simple instructions. I will never buy insurance from this company again and I will make sure no one I know does either. These people are con artists.

It's great having an app. At this moment, my only complaint is the fact that I can't find where to set up auto-pay. I used to be set up with auto-pay and was somehow removed, now there doesn't seem to be an option.

The General has decent prices, but is like an absent parent. I'm hoping I don't need them for anything other then the basic fee to legally drive on the road per my states required insurance guidelines. I couldn't get them to answer me when all I wanted to do was buy a policy. I've been with them going on 3 years now, they still have never helped me with my insurance needs as a consumer. It actually causes real concern for me as I honestly do not know how they would handle an emergency or claim.

If your policy lapsed and you make a new one it will not show up despite paying for it. I've received no sort of receipt or email notification even, yet my card was charged. Chat doesn't work in the app. Overall it's garbage

I have a dificult time understanding some of the request with a warning unless I complete certain things my insurance could be canceled or the rates could go up. I putchased the insurance thru American FaMily Ins. Co. and pyaments were and are made thru them with auto pay.

They don't give you a break 😂.They used to, yes, absolutely. The whole company is a joke now. My monthly payment doubled because they claim I have no prior insurance history, which is a bold faced lie. I've used the general my entire life. They've screwed me almost every month now with a $10 fee for being one day late. A joke.

The entirety of both the insurance and app is one heaping load of bull. The app won't let me sign back in or let me do ANYTHING I need to on the damn thing. I'm stuck on the sign in screen. I don't need customer service. I need the idiots in charge of the app to fix the damn issue. Update: It's not letting me use the app. And. It's NOT doing its job

Have had The General for several years. No problems AT ALL ... Until this month. I couldn't keep the app open to make a payment. I finally just googled another site & paid there. When I go back to the one I have downloaded on my phone it doesn't show a payment made. I'm going to delete that app & find another one to download. Not sure what the problem is. But besides this happening this month I've never had an issue. Great company!

Simplicity at its best . Makes my time count. Open app make sure that all is Correct and pay. Thank you well after a year of doing business with the general. My insurance went up 🤨not one accident or traffic violation and no late payments. Less than 405 miles in that year. Time to go shopping for a new one. Maybe I can get the kind of coverage I need for the way I drive that is going to be acceptable for me.

I chose The General because their rate was the cheapest. The representatives are always professional and courteous. Just that in itself is paramount. The phone app is great, so making a payment is super easy, and if you ever have to show proof of insurance, The General has your back. Just open the app and there it is. No more fumbling around nervously looking for your card.

Actually the best car insurance I've had in a while and has 12 month policies. The app is super easy to use. I like getting the notifications from the app a few days before my payment due date. It's easy to navigate and the main page/dashboard co rains everything you need for a quick glance at your whole policy. Ways to keep your insurance cards on the app and have a print option. I'm very happy how this app was developed and designed. It's simple but organized. Thank you for a good app!

I've used this app for the two years that I have had the car insurance. I've had a bad experience over the last 2 months. I lapsed in payment because the app told me I owed nothing when I did have a payment that needed to be made. I also cannot log in with my fingerprint now. It shows that an update fixed that in May. I think it's time for another update.

The UI needs a total overhaul it's very unappealing and could definitely use actual effort put in to make it nice and fix the 'flow', They now allow extra time after your due date if your late on the payment before cancelling your coverage, but incurs +$10 "late fee", The monthly payment has been going up consistently for no reason even after I turned 25 when it's supposed to go down. When I re add vehicles previously on my policy my payment is way more than I was paying before. What the heck?!

App is always running in the background. It leaves a notification in the tray saying app is running in the background. The only way to clear it is to open settings and force stop app. Closing the app doesn't remove the notification, only force stop does. WHY? This app only allows me to pay my bill. THATS IT. If I want to print my ins card I have to use a PC anyway so what is the point of this app other than paying the bill. It doesn't need to be running in the background leeching RAM.

I haven't used it (the app) much so that's why I only give 4 stars. But I do really appreciate the option to be able to cancel auto pay. It seems that a lot of things you can't opt out of automatic payments when you're first starting out. It's just easier for me to make manuel payments. Also, right at my 6th month anniversary as a new driver, my premium has dropped by $65.00. So I am super excited cause I feel like I'm already paying way too much. So this is really cool! 😎 But so far so good!

The commercials do make it seem silly, but The General has been the best insurance I've had, I was previously under State Farm and one other. The app is convenient. I was in an accident last September and they handled everything, were exceptionally capable and very friendly. The app is very user friendly and convenient that it allows you to download a pdf of proof insurance. Highly recommend.

I've had this insurance for 4 yrs. they were the cheapest, by hundreds. The next year price went up almost $800, and same the next year. Even had policy paid in full after some issues were Partially resolved the next yr. I really liked easy sign in esp finger print. But this yr tells me my policy lapsed can no longer access it. Also could not get due date changed so I could use auto pay. I could not sign in at all to make payment. I eventually went thru website to pay since Nov. Lots of issues

The application is easy to navigate and The General has great customer service, including the automated features. Instant results when looking. I only gave the app itself 4 stars though because the PDF file doesn't open in the newest form of Android 8.0.0 on my device and had to call instead to get the proper file sent via email. Like stated adove, it was instantaneous so no, harm no foul. If the file opened directly from the app though, it would help out more so in case you're pulled over.

Good app. could be a bit better though. I notice that I have to enter password 2-3 times for it to log in. It is same password that I type over and over, so that is a little annoying. So to avoid that, I went ahead and started using my thumb print as a way to log in. So much easier. But if the print wasn't on option on my phone, like it is with so many phones, then others are probably having that issue too...Also paper copies should be an option.

Rating the app itself; very well made and easy to understand. Simple payment options, easy to access ID cards and policy numbers. I give 4 stars because the call numbers they have connected to the app don't seem to work and immediately hang up on you if you call them. There is a way around that though with the "Schedule a call" option. Other than that, very well made!
