Seems to have good content, but difficult to access content already downloaded. All the links at the bottom of the page (downloads, watch list, home, etc) all bring you to a large blue circle and your only option is to search. I don't want to have to re-search everything to get to content I have already downloaded. This has only been an issue since I updated the great courses+ app to Wondrium. Can I go back?

The updated app includes the ability to download audio versions of each lecture, plus the associated guidebook. These are terrific improvements over the former version. Moreover, the functionality and user interface are great. However, I would still like to see the capability to download all lectures in a course with one button instead of clicking on all individually.

Still the only app on my phone that wont rotate (with or without screen lock but I'm willing to say that may just be a phone issue) and occasionally the app kicks me out of an episode and will tell me I dont have anything on my watch list until I close and reload the app. That being said, there seems to be a wide range of content available, and so far it's all been wonderfully presented.

The 1 star is for the app only. Since the new update it's been very buggy on my Galaxy S8 with the latest Android version. Crashes a lot and slow to respond. I have to restart the app several times a day, and usually after I finish a lecture. No issues with course content or GCP in general. Content and teachers is top notch and worthy of 10 stars!

I was a heavy user of the previous version of this app and it was great! I love The Great Courses Plus and the app was simple but effective. Now the new version, I'll admit, is certainly more aesthetically appealing. Being able to collapse different course titles in the "Downloads" view is helpful, and I like having quick access to the PDF course guides. However, this version also took a few steps backwards: 1) Why can't we store videos on SD card anymore? Will TGC bring that back or has it been permanently removed? The videos take up a LOT of space and I was running low as it was. 2) Now all videos play with the status bar and button bar permanently visible instead of in full-screen view. Could you please at least provide a setting so users can choose whether they want full-screen or non-full-screen playback? 3) Whenever I'm downloading a video for offline playback all the images on the screen start flashing. Not a problem but annoying and looks unprofessional.

I subscribed back when the app was called The Great Courses Plus. The courses were great, but the selection was limited, and the app was terrible. They changed the name to Wondrium, and added a lot of non-Great Courses content that I don't want. I cancelled my subscription, and they sent a confirmation email, but charged me for another year anyway.

Love the great courses but the app is terrible! Every single time I try to go back to where I left off it locks up, just loading forever. Occasionally I can do a search but cannot use the back button so no way to navigate to the menu, I just have to restart the app and loading in general is very slow so I'm never quite certain if I need to wait it out or restart. Once I actually get to the lectures playing audios/videos seems to work well.

Great content, buggy app. This service has great educational content from science, hobbies, history, technology and art. But the app is terrible. It randomly stops during vidoes and you have to tap it and hit play to get them started again. If it happened a couple of times it wouldn't be such a big deal but it happens every few minutes making watching a miserable experience. I've updated and reinstalled the app with no improvement. It also doesn't allow for easy landscape viewing.

**edited** problems with CC was addressed. I really like the content but the new app has major issues. Ive lost track of where I was in my courses because everything reset to lesson one. My biggest issue there are no longer subtitles available. Considering Ive been using subtitles since I subscribed and were available on courses I was watching I'm very unhappy with this change. Playback also frequently stalls out and then jumps forward so things have to be replayed to be able to understand.

This app is a trove of quality learning resources, which are well worth the $150 annual cost. The only gripes I have is a few bugs where audio skips back to the beginning of a lecture and how I am able to watch videos on the app. Wondrium/Great Courses Plus offers both audio and video versions of their content, but on my Pixel I am unable to rotate the video to landscape. This keeps the often detailed graphics being shown on screen from being legible. A rotate function for videos would be great.

First let me say that I really like The Great Courses Plus. However I have one major issue with this new update. The app no longer allows you to store your downloads onto an SD card which is a huge problem. I download several videos at a time for long car rides and travel where I may not have reliable internet. But my phone storage is tiny and often won't hold more than one video. One of the reasons I'm paying a monthly membership is this download feature. I hope this is a temporary problem.

I am a few days in with ny subscription and I love the courses offered but the app, buffer buffer buffer, it keeps buffering repeatedly despite a strong internet connection. It is so infuriating! I have no problems with any other streaming apps except for this one. Please fix, I hardly ever use the PC at home so having the app work is a must. Once the problem is fixed I will gladly up the review.

Content looks promising. But it's plagued by a faulty app. I've had this app for a day and the number of times I have had to close out and sign back in to restart a lecture because their playback feature doesn't work is aggravating, but dealable. But now there is no sound.. making this app completely useless. I have restarted my phone, deleted and redownloaded the app, and tried playing on just my phone and by casting it. Nothing. Silver lining? Happened during trial period.

The Great Courses is, well, great. The app is a a bit less so, but it has improved significantly over the past two years and is quite usable now. Audio is no longer a second class citizen, and casting audio works well. My biggest wishes are for Android Auto support for listening in the car, and for Android TV support (they already support Amazon Fire TV).

edit: bringing my review down bc there are constant bug issues, won't download or downloads won't play, app freezing etc. Also: A) we should be able to delete individual lectures instead of just entire courses at a time, and B) we ought to be able to download just the audio version of the lectures. If people wanted to watch a lecture they could do so easily on their laptop/computer, this is for on the go so more likely ppl will be busy and wanting to just listen. Also, storage space.

I am impressed by the scope of courses available. They do an excellent job of making the lectures visually stimulating. Minus two starts for poor user interface and limited device application ( no ability to create/download a playlist. Should be available on Google TV; caring is annoying in the extreme).

Constantly losing connection or buffering to the point of being practically unwatchable. This is the only streaming app I have this issue with, so it's not something wrong with my connection. It does the same thing on their desktop website streaming platform. Maybe invest in better servers before charging people for your streaming service.

Great content as far as I've seen, but the lack of bookmarks and a sleep timer is a serious deficiency. Not having those features means I can't listen in bed before falling asleep, because then I might have to search through hours of content to find the point where I fell asleep. Also, when you resume playback, it doesn't always go back to the same point, or even the same episode, where you left off.

The content is great, but the app and price are not. Watching videos on the app is rough. I haven't used an app that plays video that works worse than TGC. Their site is better, but still not great. The price is high for how infrequently new content is added, and especially if considering the quality of the app. I really do love. The content, but it's just not worth the price, unfortunately.

Really good app with a very user friendly interface and tons of quality content. There are really only two things I can think of that would make it even better: 1) Android Auto compatibility (and CarPlay, if that doesn't exist already) and 2) auto-pausing when other apps are making sound (e.g., when Google maps is giving directions verbally).
