I've used it for maybe all of 30 minutes just checking things out, but for someone thats new to playing music it does exactly what I need. It does claim to be ad free, which technically is correct, but they do advertise their own merch. A little misleading but not a deal breaker. Overall good app. Its got a lot of interesting features that I don't know how to use right now, but am excited to learn the more I practice.

I use to love the app, and originally gave it a 5 star review...but in the last couple of months, it's gone crazy. The app will glitch and reset all songs in library to 120 bpm and refuse to play after. This has happened to me about once a week for the last 5 or 6 weeks (twice right as church was starting). I've deleted and reinstalled the app 3 times, contacted support and have been told it's a glitch on their servers. I hope they fix it soon, because it was an amazing app prior to this.

Would rate 3.5 if i could because it is not buggy, reliable, does what it is supposed to, and does it well. Id think this would be 3 stars if the interface werent so easy to use and well-made. 4 stars fits it well. Not 5 because it lacking more features like different metronome hit sounds, beat switches (3/4 beat type stuff that youd see in a Jay Z song. ex: renegade). Other than that, it works absolutely perfectly.

Updated review 05/17/2020 I like and use this app. However it occasionally seems to lose time or miss a beat if played for an extended amount of time. I wasn't sure in the past if it was my phone but it is still happening on my new phone. Not sure what to make of the issue or if other people experience the same. --- So far so good but why does this app require permission to use camera! Would also like to have 16th note triplets and 32nd notes available in 4/4 time.

Just finished setting up my SB Pulse and using the app. Here are my initial thoughts: 1. The "Player" page is well organized and looks great. 5-Stars! 2. The "Settings" page is a mess. 1-Star. ---I don't want to see advertisements when I'm in a settings menu. ---move everything that is not a "setting" somewhere else. 3. Really wish the Pulse came with the body strap. I'm currently using it with an Ace Bandage around my chest and the tempo feels so much stronger than on the wrist/arm/leg. Besides those few gripes, I'm really happy with the App & SB Pulse. I'm looking forward to integrating it with Ableton Live and my midi devices.

The app would get 5 stars except for 2 things, which are critical to a metronome. The whole point of a metronome is to learn how to stay in sync with a consistent beat. But this app randomly plays its beat sound out of beat. Also, the flashing visual cues are off beat. I can at leastturn my screen off for the second issue, but the first issue is unavoidable and defeats the purpose of a metronome.

Update: The latest version works perfectly again. It's still the best metronome I've found. The visual design is clean, beautifully designed, and easy to use. Original Review: Great metronome, but after the last update the sound reverts to the kick every time you launch it. It's still a five star app. It's the best metronome I've found so far, and it's free without ads.

1. Simple. Love it! 2. Just works. Love it! 3. No ads on the main metronome page, so you don't have to worry about being redirected to Google Play to download Candy Crush just because you tried to adjust the tempo before trying that run again in Flight of the Bumblebee. Love it! 4. The few ads I do see are for actual products they sell, /not/ for game and malware downloads. Love it!

Edit: I cleared my data and created a new account, something to look into though! I've used this for years and without regret, but now everything opens except the metronome tab, of which it instantly crashes every single time I try to open it. I've tried uninstalling it but it doesn't change. Hope I can get in touch with you guys!

I used Soundbrenner for YEARS across multiple devices. Had hundreds of songs saved; I eventually even bought their high end watch (big mistake, such a poor product). Recently they locked all the decent features behind a subscription service. This went from being an app I would recommend to anyone without hesitation, to a company I will go out of my way to make sure people avoid at all costs. Such a shame to see how they have fallen to greed.

Whatever you guys did on your last update, all the good stuff that used to work just fine is now a mess. Your tap function doesn't work. It doesn't mark the actual tempo that appears when you open the app. It can't handle subdivisions any more. There are more problems than these. I assume you must know this, and have heard from other people. I can't possibly be a unique and beautiful snowflake, right? Please go back to the wonderful little metronome you used to offer.

I have a hearing loss and can't hear a metronome. I was using earphones connect to a metronome app that I found uncomfortable and I believe was damaging my existing hearing. Then I discovered Soundbrenner. I balked at the price for a while but weighing that against further hearing loss I took the plunge. One of my best decisions ever, I LOVE this thing! I adapted quickly. I haven't explored all the features yet but from my experience so far it's money well spent. My ears thank you Soundbrenner!

The most annoying clicking sound you will ever hear. Who thought it was a good idea to use high pitch clicks? So I decided to get the watch so I wouldn't have to listen to the clicking anymore. The app deayncs with the watch so often though that it messes up with my playing and makes it completely useless. And ofc the watch can't be used on its own because you can't set exact beat numbers that way.

Great app standalone, but as a companion app for the Steel Core 2, it's pretty finicky and lackluster. I've seen screens shots from devs of features that "went live" but I have yet to see them on Android even though everything is up to date. It also has randomly stopped connecting to the watch. It's not a phone issue because the phone pairs with the watch but the app does not. Tip for anyone using the watch: DO NOT do a factory reset on the watch. It still won't pair and it'll lock completely

This is the third update in a month. App still will not connect to watch. Even tried clearing all cache and data, uninstalling and reinstalling.. Update: Last update fixed the connectivity for the watch to my phone. App still has some glitches. Tech support is good at responding back. They are aware of issues. Watch works well with app for it's intended purpose which is to keep time

App used to be great, but now clogged with ads and subscription pushes for useless extras. The metronome now only plays for a bit and then stops, so I can't even get through a whole page of music now without having to stop and fiddle with the app to keep going. Put up with the ads for a long time, but I have to find something else because it's unusable now.

UPDATE: As promised, changing my rating to 5* because the background issue is fixed and the metronome works perfectly now! Also the tip they provided to keep the screen awake was very helpful in the interim. Thanks again! ORIGINAL: Will change rating to 5 stars after the background bug is fixed. For now, I have Google Maps navigating somewhere with alerts off. This keeps the screen alive. But you MUST keep the Metronome App in the foreground as well...

Won't connect to a core steel 2. I have the latest app version (1.29.2) on a modern android device (pixel 7 pro), with all updates installed and the app given free reign with no restrictions on my device. The fact that I have to connect through this app is ridiculous, given that the app refuses to connect to the watch. The watch was also 250$ and won't do anything without the app connected to it. What a paper weight, this is beyond frustrating. Devs: contact me because I've tried reaching out.

I used to just google metronome, and use that. I installed soundbrenner because it has more control over tempo, timers, subdivisions, and time signatures. The one thing that makes it extremely frustrating to use is that it fluctuates in volume constantly for seemingly no reason, making it hard to practice. If they fix that problem, 5 stars, but right now, I would like to be able to hear the metronome over the instrument when I practice. 2 stars.

I bought mine hoping it would encourage practicing and playing more often, and it has achieved that. The core metronome, tuner, tracking apps are great. I was shown some product dev info that there is great additional tracking functionality coming, expect to see it on Apple first, Android later. Looking forward to it! Is app perfect? No. Is it damn good? Yes! I would buy the core 2 again. Deducting one star until the additional tracking features are added to to this already very good app!!
