Playback preferences has one option to play over WiFi only. That's great, but what is really needed is a way to stop automatic playback (of some random show afterwards) and a resolution/bandwidth control. These features are important as a families bump against Xfinity's data cap when working and schooling from home. If either of these controls are there, it's not obvious. Furthermore, when I mark a show as a favorite, I expect it to be better surfaced w/o scrolling. A favorites tab perhaps?

Easy to find what I want. Well organized. Buffering sometimes a real problem, or would have given 5 stars.well it's over a year later and this is a one star at best. Constant buffering, drops out and tells me I'm not connected every couple minutes. CC button doesnt work, can't disconnect cc, which does not sync with visuals... what has happened. Will uninstall if this keeps up

This app is still miserable a couple years after I last tried it. Shows and advertisements reset and start from the beginning if you open the app after starting the show or you don't get a picture when casting it to a device. Reboots of phone and streaming devices don't seem to help. A truly frustrating app. Time to put some effort into the development.

Review was from 2018: Keeps freezing, I hate having to restart sometimes from the beginning...watching the same ads again and again. Buffering...buffering then frozen... Then shuts down. I had 3 free shows to view, but because I had to restart so many times, it says I used them up. (Sucks that you only are allowed 3 free to unlock). Update: It still has the exact same bugs 2 years later. 2/21/20

PORTRAIT VIEW/CHROMECAST: 👉 please, add the ability to be able to playback videos in portrait view mode (now it only does it in landscape mode). Also, after last update, something broke with chromecast. It won't stream to tv at first try. In order to work, i have to open the app, hit play on the show/clip i want to watch, and then after it has started it, after hitting the chromecast button, it will stream to tv. Please fix. 🙏

This is installed on my Vizio TV. It is SO slow! Every time I try to watch an episode it dumps me back to the home page over and over! It's the only place I can find the 1980's TV series The Equalizer. Have tried to watch episodes, but get too frustrated at being constantly dumped back to the home page every 5 mins of the program. Then I have to watch 5 mins of commercials even though I just finished watching 5 mins!! This app stinks!!!

Works great on all of my galaxy s and note (8 & 9) series smartphones from s7 edge and up. Love that NBC allows us to watch all of their programming for free but I gave this 3 stars because the amount of commercials is insulting and annoying - especially the ones that repeat 2 and 3 times in a row, and we can't even PAUSE the ad. Other than that, NBC programming is very good, I know this app is free because the ads pay for it, but cut us a break and let us watch at least 20 minutes before you inundate us with ads! We are supposed to be innovating TV - not making it worse!!

I enjoy using the NBC App mainly to watch my soap but I have started watching other new shows as well. Occasionally, there are way too many commercials, but as long as it isn't the same one four times in a row or seven each break (Both have happened), I don't mind them. Once in a while, I even get to watch a show with only one commercial each break. I truly enjoy that! It is a great way to catch up on a missed show or season.

Keeps hanging up, way too slow. way too many ads. I would uninstall but it's the only way i can watch my show. it hangs up so much i can't even get through one episode. Update as of November 2019. This app is still absolutely horrible. Don't rewind 10 seconds or you'll have to watch 10 minutes worth of commercials. The app is constantly buffering, then you have to watch 10 more minutes of commercials. it will also start you off in some random spot in the middle of an episode.

Been using the app for a long time, but now it's become constantly glitchy not wanting to playor having to restart the app completely with shows skipping around and more commercials than ever, you never get a reply when you email support, and worse, i gave my friend my old phone, and the app wouldn't let her register, just keep saying it's an invalid email address. Plus, they now make you wait a full week after an episode to watch some shows. Booooo!

They have improved this app a lot, but it still has some functionality issues. For example you have to search again for a show that you were watching to continue it. There should be a "resume watching" page to eliminate this extra step. It's worse on the smart TV app. And there is the issue of the picture going out leaving you with a black screen with audio but no video. Still the video, when available, is better than before and the selection of classic TV is better. Still no 'Xena' though!

Terrible app!!! Repeatedly tried to get it to work with no success on my Roku tv. The only way I could get it to do ANYTHING was to download the phone app. I didn't want to watch anything on my phone with a 4" screen, geez such a hassle!! I'll just watch it for free online since the glitches in their app make it useless! There are countless complaints about this app, you'd think they would fix it.

Wanted to watch a single soccer game. This garbage app allowed me to watch less than half a match before giving me several options to continue: 1) sign in to other app, which I did and still couldn't finish the soccer match; or 2) sign up to get a few credits to watch, which then didn't apply to the single thing I was looking at. Wasted 30min on this, can't imagine a worse experience. The huge number of 1* ratings on this app makes so much sense now that I've experienced it.

This app is surprisingly bad. It works fine for watching a full episode at once and pausing occasionally. Anything else though, beware. If you watch something halfway and want to pick it up again later though you're basically screwed. It doesn't remember where you left off at all, the scrollbar is unreliable, it keeps trying to play ads as you scroll and then loses its place again. UI freezes all the time and needs force kill. Using on Pixel 7 and casting to Chromecast, FWIW.

The voice app is a nightmare so I tried to vote with this app, still a nightmare and I tried it on 3 different phones. I've been voting for YEARS and now I can't. I hate technology. I remember when we could vote 10 times by phone. SOOO much better than fighting with these stupid apps. I'm VERY disappointed that I can no longer vote without it being a huge hassle

I don't have a home anymore. So it's a first for me to watch shows on the phone. I have been watching news and the show Found & The Irrational on app. I don't care for ads, but everything else has been excellent for a person who doesn't have much knowledge on apps and streaming. This is streaming, right? Whatever it is, it's pretty easy. Oh, I'm not sure how to get the key thing to unlock. Maybe NBC should get rid of it so I can watch more shows. Thanks HOMELESS KNEW-BEE

Poor performance, in my opioion.... steps taken to clear up issue; Cleared cache, uninstalled app, reinstalled app, and set settings to allow access to location. Opened app and still get an error for zip code. VERY FRUSTRATING! I think they don't want us to watch for free anymore. Geesh! I love Chicago Med and Chicago PD. I just want to watch my shows. Oh well, I will find another show to watch on another network, I guess.

My app (and desktop version) keeps opening up in Spanish despite repeatedly changing it to English in settings. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling... setup is in English but as soon as I log in, it reverts back to Spanish! The playback is choppy. Sometimes the video and audio is off sync. And EVERY time I move the scroll bar, it plays 2-3 unskippable ads first. Some shows are decent, but not worth the headache trying to watch them.

Can't watch ANYTHING! Complete waste of time! The app loaded easily. I was able to create an account easily. I was able to browse shows and episodes. BUT, when I try to watch anything, I get a message saying that it can't play because it can't determine my zip code, even though I had to enter my zip code when I created an account! This is stupidly frustrating!!!

*update: it works when connected to wifi only. All location services are turned on.* Worked fine for a very long time now all it tells me is it's unable to determine my zipcode. I've cleared my cache files and data files for this app still no luck even un-installed it and reinstalled it still no luck. This sucks because I have 3 shows I like to watch that now I can't. Even tried while on wifi...no luck.
