We don't ask for much. We just wanted a simple and reliable train app to tell us times. We had that with SubwayTime. But MTA had to kill that for this unreliable app that looks great but still feels like it's in beta. If you can open a train route without the app crashing (which crashes often), you may see a train listed that just... disappears when it's 1 minute away. Or perhaps it won't show any upcoming trains for a stop...at all; Nothing listed. Such a shame we lost SubwayTime

Last update completely broke this app for me. I can't save favorite bus lines. When I search it tells me I have entered an invalid search entry. It crashes. I can't get bus arrival times, and there is no longer a way to report problems in-app. So, not only did you break it, but you blocked an easy way to get feedback on how it's performing. It was working pretty well before...

Once I already gave it one star, But decided to give it one more try. It appearsr to be even worse. Now it just unable to build route even if it can find both locatons. Just showing me the stupid crocodile picture instead of the results. Google have no difficulties to suggest multiple reasonable routes with exactly same search. And there are many other problems with design, usability and functon. This app is just a pure failure. I wish I could give it zero stars.

A giant step backwards. It's opening screen shows nearby which is inaccurate and can't seem to be changed . Interface is clumsy and unless you're careful you'll be looking at trains going in the opposite direction! To get it to work, they're requiring location and personal information. They should know better than to request that! The problem as with most apps is there's no way to go back to a better version.

The changes you've made make everything so inconvenient and hard to figure out. Why are you trying to act like google maps?? I just want to know what time the train is coming!!! I have to jump through so many hoops now and I still don't get an answer! Everything I click just takes me to the stupid subway map.. The 'x minutes away' format-as opposed to just putting the estimated TOA-makes it so hard to plan ahead! This update ruined the app for me.

EDIT: The update has made it so difficult to use if you're trying to plan for further in advance than immediately. I can't see if my train is running this weekend. The "alternative routes" don't really provide any helpful information. I used this app for probably a year with no issues; after the update at the end of May it stopped working altogether. However, I just re-downloaded it and it seems to be working again. I'll update if I have any problems.

This app was recently updated and it has a much cleaner interface. I couldn't plan a trip from my house to a business I go to regularly. The app failed to find the business name. The lack of widgets is another drawback. The subway system is large and I don't need to see information about lines I never use. Wish I could get my pertinent information based on widgets. Sometimes it doesn't update my location even when it has a good connection

The app could be glitchy but overall it made sense - now, with the total revamp, the whole user friendly interface has disappeared. I'm not talking about having to get used to something new - things that were centrally located are no longer, things that were collected for convenience (ie, delays, planned reroutes, etc) are no longer. It takes so much longer to click through to the train schedule and it just feels silly.

If I could give zero stars I would. The eye appeal of this version compared to the previous is extremely lacking. Directional bus route maps only show the closest approaching bus for the stop chosen, gone are depictions of ALL buses both approaching AND departed. Gone are bus ID numbers as well as the same for all the individual stops. Also, where is the OVERALL route map showing the location of ALL buses in both directions? The MTA blew this big-time. Give me back the previous version!

Works great as a map, not as good as a bus tracker. Choosing a route doesn't show a live feed on where your bus is anymore, choosing a stop will but you lose information like where other stops are. I haven't found a way to favorite stops. Planning my way there is going to be a lot easier with how much information on the busses and trains there is frontloaded but use during transit is going to take a swan dive.

Latest version (3/2024) is bloated, more frustrating to use and kills the battery. Used to be able to easily save favorites by train line and direction and see arrival times across multiple stations and bus stops at the same time in order to make connections. Now can only see one station at a time with all lines and directions showing mixed up in one place. Expected arrival time no longer shows up by default and time until arrival is inaccurate, as "arriving now" can mean several minutes away.

The service status is the primary reason I downloaded this app and it works. It could use a refresh button but it seems the only way to refresh is to switch between the tabs. Another thing is the maps can only be viewed by downloading as pdf. It would be great if the maps are viewable in the app itself. Update 04/09/24: The estimated arrival in minutes are off 2-3 minutes, have to tap on the train's timer to see the scheduled arrival time, would prefer to see scheduled arrival instead of minute

Why is so hard to find out elevator status? In the older version I hit the menu then tapped on accessibility then either tapped on show all elevators or status of elevators. You would get list in both options. Now I have to figure out that some icon on the right but after that I don't know what is being presented. Is it elevator or escalator? It's not labeled correctly. It needs to be cleaned up. Rob

They need to fix it. Constant bugs, glitches, and "fixes" make it inconsistent. They rarely communicate issues to the users who depend on this app to plan their days. When it works, it works fairly well. I could have given a 3. However, with the money they charge, these issues should not happen. They advocate for complaints, but they fall on deaf ears. Sad part is this is the updated version they pushed out with absolutely no forewarning. So as usual for NYC, we are stuck.

The older app was far superior than this one. What the older app you can have your saved or favorites on the opening page where it'll highlight your selected destinations that you've saved w/ all the arrival timings. In this current app, it's tricky to navigate & it's very difficult to get your destination saved is it to go through so many page clicks to get to it. bring the old app back, much cleaner & when I turned it on, the opening homepage had all my saved destinations and trains.

This new app is nice in concept, but in actual use is so much worse than the old MyMTA app. Having to search for subway stations by exact name (don't type 'West 4th' or you'll never find 'W 4-Wash Sq') is beyond frustrating. All user flows to find arrival times are generally slower, especially when waiting for a GPS signal underground.

This app doesn't open if you have no Internet connection. It says: you're offline, try again or notify me. It's galling because after a half decade or more of development it finally features: offline maps, for when you're in a train between stations, experiencing an issue, and need to reroute without a connection. But you can only use that in the off chance you'd opened the app before being underground without a network. 🤬 Still happens; feedback sent with screenshot (Play Store blocks opening)

The upgrade is practically unusable. You have to wade through menus to get the train or bus you want. When you get there, the scrolling, 9 times out of 10 doesn't work, so you keep swiping your finger on the screen until it decides to move it. Then when to get to the stop you want , you have to keep polking it until it decides to open, most times you hit the stop and it shifts to the other direction. I miss the old version, where you plugged in the bus number and it went right to the route!

The new updated app is, unfortunately, nowhere near as good as the previous version and, in all honesty, not sure why there needed to be an update. UI is much more cumbersome, data is almost always inaccurate, and always asks for location data which is unnecessary. Think the MTA wanted to make this more robust and do much more than it really needed to... Bring back the old version, please. It was simple and did what we needed it to do and did it well.

I'm impressed with the little things that mean so much like the features that show as soon as I open the app. With other travel apps, they don't show me both directions at one. I always have to put in an address/destination first. Showing me what I'm closest to with the departure times & also where the bus is is awesome. Since I just started using the app I gave it a four. However I do expect to give it a five star in the future if it continues to be so practical & reliable.
