Overall this is a great app but it has some features that are suboptimal. When the tracker is in wifi range, it will not locate the tracker. This is problematic because, first I want to know where my dog is headed when I let her out. Second, it refuses to go "live" where it constantly checks the tracker in wifi range, so it will only check every five minutes. Not cool, as my dog could be off somewhere by then that she shouldn't be. I hope tractive hears this feedback and addresses the issues.

I have two of these- one for each cat. We use them daily. Have had these for two weeks now. Took a bit to figure out how to use them effectively, but worth the effort. When tracking in live mode device has been spot on. Battery life is good. Fun to look at history of their travels. A little frustrated with the fact that trackers can only be manages on one phone. So much for sharing. This and start up issues with one of the devices (I have to "trick" it to get into GPS) are why 4 stars not 5

yes it tracks. and before it saved my dog from being stolen in another state as I was able to track the vehicle. however the tracker does a terrible job at updating location timely. my dog was not in sight but the tracker said he was home and would not let me track because he "had not left home area" it then refreshed and he was almost 1 mile away. huge complaint. it works, but just barely

I love this tracker. I can not only find the cat, which is not too hard with the GPS and Radar settings(He's a big white blob), but I can find the collar when he manages to get it off. We live in a very thick brushy/woodsy area so I have taped orange glow and white duct tape to the collar to make it easier to spot. The app will get you within 5 feet of the tracker. Excellent.

At first, I was very disappointed. It was difficult to understand the program and its functions. The battery always needed charging. I did not understand how the safe and unsafe zone worked. All this went on for several months. There is no contact number to get helpful advice. You are totally left to learn on your own. So, I began reading all the information on Tractive and learned through trial and error on how it works. I now love it!! They have upgraded since, and is even better!!

UPDATE: Not happy with recent updates. Things are not right. Wellness scores do not update correctly after the update of the app recently. Notifications regarding leaving virtual fence still have a lag time of about 4 minutes and I have very good service here. Live tracking works well, but I'd like to see it use less battery. Also, Do not like that I purchased 5 and then received special offers to buy more for less right after that in my inbox. Also, that the membership fee is on the high side.

Excellent so far. Using in a rural area with decent cell service. The tracker is compact and battery lasts weeks with the wifi feature. We've tested alerts and Live Mode and taken the dog to Canada and everything seems ok, although battery drains fast in Canada & faster in Live Mode. Biggest annoyance is the security model, which allows one owner plus "family members" but overly limits what family members can do and see. We'd also like more alert sounds and the ability to alert via Google Home.

So far so good! This tracker has given us peace of mind knowing where our fur child is on our 40 acres of land and works great in alerting me when he gets in zones I've set that are off limits. I love the additional features of tracking his health and wellness. The stats board also helps me be a better dog mom, motivating me to get out there with him exercising him and myself! I'm really impressed with the batteries longevity as well. Overall A+ in my book. Definitely worth the money!

Better for wide-ranging pets, a Tile worked better for cats with limited range. My big complaints are that the sound the tractive unit plays is too quiet to hear from even a few feet away, with no way to turn up the volume. (They state in their FAQs that a vet helped them determine what volume it should play at and the volume cannot be changed.) The light is very tiny. Also, minimum geofence size is too big, way larger than a small yard.

I tried the more expensive options but Tractive has been the most reliable tracker I've used so far. The battery life is great - I charge it once a week when it's getting low. Some other trackers need to be charged daily, which increases the risk of the tracker dying when we need it most - if our dog is lost! I've had it for 6 months and I couldn't be happier with this tracker.

Could be great but Full of Bugs and Bad Decisions by Managment. For the bugs, they're just everywhere. The most common is not debouncing data. Pick imperial for the data, but download history and speed is measured (in what must be m/s and not MPH or even FPS.) They want to get rid of the desktop maps but editing zones on a phone is a miserable experience. When the collar is on the charger the app claims the pet is "sleeping". It can connect to WiFi but not for tracking...(I ran out of tex

As someone who makes these kinds of devices for a living, it has A LOT of edge case bugs. Particularly, get used to closing and re-opening the app to sync data. I like it, though. It's overall pretty affordable for what it is. Notes to the developers: - Run tests with 2 devices sharing the same device data. - Create a hand shake before changing the light state. It's defaulting to off when it is actually on.

Hardware is well implemented. Subscriptions are designed to lure you into options you may not need or want. A smart feature to preserve battery inhibits GPS updates when within your home WiFi signal's reach. Most annoying though is when your pet is in that range and you still can't find them. The app will tell you Live tracking is only available when they're out of that range, and will suggest Radar mode which is nothing more than BT tracking and its limited range. Not great when they're hiding.

Overall, the app is nice. There are only 2 complaints from me. 1. Take about 5 minutes for the tracker to realize it left the wifi and come off of power save mode. Sometimes quicker, but the dog can go a long way in that time. 2. Activity minutes are tracked by the app, but nowhere is the overall or lifetime count that you can see. Only weekly and monthly. Also, light and sound are a joke. It's more of a novelty than useful but is there.

Second time having issues with my tracker. The first issue was the magnetic cable wouldn't connect to charge tracker. They sent my a replacement that lasted less then a year and now it won't turn on at all. Been waiting a week for answers from customer service. I would just cancel my membership but I have two years left that won't be reimbursed. Dont waste your money here.

I own Tractive for a cat since June 2023. I love it! I know where my cat is most of the time. There are dead zones where GPS will not track. I had a situation where my cat was able to escape from the safety collar in a GPS dead zone. I was able to see where it last received a signal but was not able to locate the device. The radar and light only work with a GPS signal. The sound feature is worthless. With the extended plan, a new device was sent out no charge immediately! Small imperfections. 👍

I've been through it with another, more popular provider in the space... until I tried Tractiv. the service accuracy and app work amazingly! like how you'd imagine... real-time accurate location, responsive update of "out of bounds" if you set it up... and only a small monthly fee, more than worth it, given the peace of mind it provides. I don't often take the time to write reviews for apps, but this one is important. I'd recommend anyone protect their fur babies with ease and confidence.

Fundamentally flawed for indoor cats. Without power saving mode (which is tied to being in your Wi-Fi zone), the battery will wear out in 1 to 2 days. With power saving mode on, if your Wi-Fi zone is larger than your house, your cat can be outside and you'll have no way to find it, because the "LIVE," radar, light, and sound are all disabled in power saving mode. And you cannot turn off the power saving mode quickly, it can take up to 12 hours. Bye bye kitty. Poor software architecture and UX.

One cannot cancel the Subscription, nor can out trackers, if one breaks, you cannot put another 1 on that subscription and most of all, there is no absolutely no contact in track active. They don't have a phone. They don't have a website. All they have is a list of answers. And hopefully those answers won't match your question. Not usually I have not met anybody. That has found those answers helpful.

GPS is horribly inaccurate with even the lightest light tree cover. It's almost impossible to pinpoint my cat. Bluetooth radar is a joke because range is so short that you have to be within a few feet to even connect. This is the SECOND tracker within a month we have purchased for the same animal. The first device was LOST because of both of the above. Plus, the sound option and light option are trash. Definitely a false sense of security. Did I mention you pay upfront for a year?
